Pick of the Week

This one was actually a tough call.  As a fan of the Black Dagger Brotherhood, Lover Unleashed is high on my auto-buy list, and having to wait a year for the J.R. Ward book made the anticipation that much more.  Also, this week also sees a new Lords of the Underworld book from Gena Showalter released.  And, on top of that, there is the all new Eternal Rider from Larissa Ione (but that was already featured in the post below).  But, I had to go with a favorite of mine, Rhyannon Byrd, and her seventh Primal Instincts installment, Rush of Darkness.

Synopsis…

DESTINED TO BE ENEMIES…

Raine Spenser is on the brink. Held prisoner because of her abilities, Raine—a powerful psychic as well as vampire desperately needed a savior. But the last one she expected was the green-eyed soldier who’d once hunted her kind.  Since her rescue, she’s tried to forget Seth McConnell, unable to cope with the strange, simmering attraction that draws her to the compelling human.

But their goals—find the Kraven who held Raine captive and destroy him—are the same. The ever-growing web of danger surrounding them draws these two unlikely allies closer together, and anger slowly turns into an explosive passion they’re finding harder and harder to deny…

The eighth and final title before the spin-off series, Rush of Pleasure, will be released on July 26th.

  1. Good morning, Kaleigha! First of all, I am truly loving the new site. It’s even easier to go through and pick out the articles I want to read first. Thank you foa all your hard work!

Secondly, I am currently trying to catch up on the new releases such as The Darkest Secret and Lover Unleashed, plus a few more (so many great books, so little time in my household…LOL). I am seriously contemplating reading Ryhannon Byrd’s Primal Instincts series and I wanted to get your take on it. having very little time to read these days (with 3 kids all under 10 and running around like a chauffeur) I’m extremely picking about the next series I begin. What do you think of this series? You mentioned it’s one of your favorites. Thanks for your input!! Take Care!!!

  2. Hey Lea…

I am a fan of the Primal Instincts series, for sure. For me, I put it in the same category as say the Lords of the Underworld, if you like that. They can be a bit dark, though, and the bad guys are truly vile. Heat factor can be heading into the erotica level, or into Lora Leigh territory. This one and Shannon K. Butchers Sentinel Wars series are the two lesser known ones that I follow. Oh, and anything by Cynthia Eden, too. Hope that helps!

    • Yes, this helps me immensely! Primal Instincts is up next once I finish all the new releases.

Thank you also for the other recommendations. I’ve got Butcher and Eden on my TBR and I may just move them up the queue.

By the way, I just noticed that your site is different on my iPad versus on my desktop computer. Either way, I love your site and how efficient you are in updating! Thanks and have a great weekend!

      • Thanks, Lea…

Hope you like them. I love Cynthia Eden…the word I always use when I describe her writing is smart.

How is the site different on the ipad? I know it looked funky on explorer as compared to firefox, but I got that fixed.

Thanks for the kind comments, too.
