Cover Lover – 4 New Titles

Out and about on the web in the last couple of days are a few new covers.  The first one is the final book in Rachel Caine‘s Outcast Season series, Unbroken.  It is due out on February 7th.

And next up is the second book from Stephanie Julian‘s Forgotten Goddesses series.  How to Worship a Goddess is due out this December 1st.

The next couple of titles are going to be released in hardcover.  First up is the next Argeneau Vampire book from Lynsay SandsUnder a Vampire Moon is a January 3rd release.

And the next one is from Kim HarrisonA Perfect Blood is the 10th book in her Rachel Morgan/The Hollows series, and should be available on February 21st.

I like the cover for A Perfect Blood, but it could use a tagline or something.  It seems a bit…unfinished, somehow.  I also like the cover for Unbroken.  The other two…not so much.  Not sure what it is about them, but they don’t quite work for me.

  1. I was going to say “Lea will love seeing the cover for A Perfect Blood” but she beat me to it! LOL! :-) I’m excited about seeing it too though! Thanks K!

I’m not sure what I’m going to do about Lynsay’s next book. I like the series, but I’m trying to decide if I like it enough to pay the higher price for hardcover. I think I may wait until it comes out in paperback.

    • I didn’t realize that this is the first one of the Lynsay Sands books to head to hardcover…surprising just how many authors are being switched over in so short a time.

  2. It’s killin’ me K! Lol! 2012 is going to be a really expensive year…so many books coming out in hardcover. That’s why I have to really love the series to make the switch, otherwise I’m going to wait until the book comes out in paperback.

    • I love the hardcover, so that makes me happy, but then I want the first books in the series in hardcover, too (I bought the extended Dark Prince, have Dark Lover on order, and bought the first couple Dark-Hunter books AGAIN in hardcover while I hadn’t even read the paperbacks I already had). What I am trying to research now is the upcoming slate of spin-off series starting up. Of course I have to have all of them, too.

  3. Publishers love you K! Haha! I don’t mind hardcovers, just don’t like the price. But they do look pretty on the bookshelf! LOL! :-)

    • They better love me…if there are any damages, creased pages, broken spines and the like, I buy another copy. One book came in with a half inch tear in two of the pages, and I had to order another one. I think I am neurotic.

      • Hahaha! I’m pretty OCD when it comes to keeping my books looking perfect. With a lot of my PB’s you can’t even tell I’ve read them :-) if I pass a series around to my friends though, I have to let that go :(

      • I have one friend who used to “borrow” from me…and she proceeded to give me 10 bucks each time she wanted to read a book so I could go buy a new one. The first thing she does is break the spine in a few places…how evil.

  4. Totally evil!! :-) I know when I pass books on to my mom that I just have to let it ALL go with my OCD…she always says to me “I don’t know how you read books like that?” It’s easy mom…just sayin’ :-)

  5. Lyndsay Sands’s Argeneau cover seems a little bit different with the latest. She change the publisher perhaps? :D
How to Worship a Goddess have a sexy cover, I like this better than the first :)

    • Must be because she is going the hardcover route this time around for her book…the other ones had less of a grungy feel to them, if I remember correctly.

I wasn’t a fan of the first Goddess cover, either. Waaay too yellow.

      • I don’t know the new ones is hardcover, but its good! At last the cover not too familiar like what have done to Kiss of Snow , lol!

The purple color make it more sensual, and the first have a familiar cover too.

      • Yeah, I would have been thrilled with Kiss of Snow even if it came wrapped in old Christmas wrapping paper, but the cover was not…not…erm, good. No. Bad photoshop.

  6. I’m curious to read unbroken, i really like the cover ! I didn’t know it was the final book of the serie.
the cover of A perfect blood is very nice too !

    • I think it is the last book in the series…I remember reading it somewhere a while back, but of course can’t remember where. I thought the Perfect Blood cover was nice, too – love something with a lot of black on it.
