Pick of the Week

There are a couple that I am looking forward to this week, like the Supernatural anthology (the very first anthology in which I read all of the represented series.  Nice).  Also, Sharie Kohler has a new Moon Chaser book out this week, called Night Falls on the Wicked.  But for my pick of the week, I had to go to a favorite in Jeaniene Frost‘s One Grave at a Time.  I don’t mind Cat, but I adore Bones and can’t seem to get enough of him.  Plus, I do love the little bits of Vlad we get in each book.

Synopsis…

Having narrowly averted an (under)world war, Cat Crawfield wants nothing more than a little downtime with her vampire husband, Bones. Unfortunately, her gift from New Orleans’ voodoo queen just keeps on giving–leading to a personal favor that sends them into battle once again, this time against a villainous spirit.

Centuries ago, Heinrich Kramer was a witch hunter. Now, every All Hallows Eve, he takes physical form to torture innocent women before burning them alive. This year, however, a determined Cat and Bones must risk all to send him back to the other side of eternity–forever. But how do you kill a killer who’s already long dead?

Holy crap.  I just realized I am now two Night Huntress books behind, since I just found This Side of the Grave waving at me from the peak of Mt. TBR.  Huh.  Wonder how that happened?

  1. As soon as I finish “Blood Bound” by Rachel Vincent (which I’m loving BTW), I’m starting this one! Love me some Cat & Bones!

You haven’t read the last one? Get reading lady! LOL! :-)

    • I haven’t read any Rachel Vincent yet, so I should check that one out.

I know. I stared at Cat and Bones 5 in shock, wondering what had happened and how it escaped me. The shame.

      • Her Shifter series is one of my favorites. If you ever read it, just know it definitely gets better after book 1. I liked book one, but most people really get into the series after the first book. By the 3rd book, you’re completely hooked :-)

      • Is there a main romantic interest (a la Curran)? That is the big selling point for me. I think that series just wrapped up, too, didn’t it?

      • Well…I know that’s a big thing for you, but this one does have a love triangle. That’s all I’m going to say about it, because I don’t want to give anything else away :-) I’m usually like you with the one love, but this is a good series.
As for Curran, we don’t get more of him until 2013 :(

      • Triangle, huh? I usually get all upset for the “loser” of the triangle (like Adrian). I think I will have to give them a shot, though, since you haven’t steered me wrong yet.

      • If you do end up reading the Shifters, know that it gets progressively better after book 1 (in my opinion) :-) hope you like it!
