    • Yep, I have been hearing a bit about Anita and…my drive to read this series is pretty much non-existent. So, you won’t be recommending it either, right?

  1. I will break my foot off in my own ass before I ever recommend this series. I loved the first 7 or so books but then it quickly went to crap. The last Blake book I read was #18, Flirt. When I started this series, I was an angsty, boy-crazy kiddie who adored the gore, guts, evisceration & girl power Anita Blake stood for. Now at the very old, very wise age of 22, I simply do not hate myself enough to keep reading this series.

    • I was tempted for about a minute to grab it – but as soon as I found out that Anita Blake has more than one fella (I do like one hero to a story), it was a no no for me.

  2. A lot of the feedback is wrong. Around book 10 the series changed, a lot of people liked it, and a lot of people hate it. But unlike most series, people that hate a series stop reading it. The haters of Anita Blake don’t understand how to stop reading a series, and keep expecting the series to suddenly go back to the way it was at the beginning of the series. That’s not going to happen. I think this series is great all the way around. I could do without the sex, and when I reread the series, I do skip the sex scenes. I have read the series 9 times now, and I’m looking forward to reading it again.

If you haven’t read the Anita Blake series yet. Let me give you a tip. Don’t read the reviews, before you read the book. When I was reading the series for the first time. I would go to amazon and read the reviews. Just to get a idea if the book was good or not. When I got to book 10, the reviews turned bad. I was afraid to read it, I didn’t want to be disappointed. So, I stopped reading for a week. But Anita Blake’s world kept calling me, so, I picked up the book and started to read the first chapter, and I thought that was good, so, I just kept reading. It’s a great book. I went back to amazon to look at the bad reviews. The reviews didn’t make sense for was I just read. It’s like they read a different book. From book 10 on, the bad reviews are like that. They just don’t match the books. Now, the hate Anita Blake bandwagon is always there, slamming the series, and they are attacking a lot of the people that give it a good review, and it’s the same people year after year after year. It’s like a big game to them, to tear each book apart. They take everything in the book in the worse possible way. It just doesn’t make sense.

So, judge the books for yourself, don’t let the reviews color your opinion of the series before you even start reading it. Anita Blake series it one of the best out there. The Audio Books are great, and they can really help you understand the intent of the dialog in a scene. So, you don’t take something the wrong way.

Love the series, and I can’t wait for the next book to come.
