Sooo, I went to see The Hunger Games. Great movie, I must say, but I am so, so glad I read the book first. Of course, there was a lot missing from the screen version, but I think they covered the most important parts (I did have to explain a bit to my friend who hadn’t read the book first, though). I immediately came home and started on (and finished) Catching Fire, too. Didn’t see any of that coming, either.
One of the best parts of the movies, for me, is always the coming attractions, and there was a brief teaser trailer for Stephenie Meyer‘s The Host. Now, really, there isn’t much to this, but man did I find it creepy. Looks like another book I may have to dive into before the movie comes out…
I really liked this book! I will admit I wasn’t into that much for the first 100 pages or so (a little slow moving for me), but after that it got so much better when the “real” story started to happen. I’m really looking forward to the movie! This is a book that does get “mixed” reviews though. When you get to it, let me know what you thought of it
I read it so long ago so I’ll probably do a re-read before the movie comes out. I originally rated it 4 stars, but that might change on the re-read.
It seems strange that goodreads lists a couple of sequels, too, but other than that no word at all. You always catch more on the re-reads, it seems!
