New Series Alerts…

After having absolutely nothing going on for last week, this week at least has a few new series making their debuts.  And a couple of those are biggies.  This first one is from Karina Cooper, and it is called the St. Croix Chronicles.  The first book is Tarnished.

Synopsis…

In Victorian London, where science skirts the line between magic and mechanics, one stubborn miss will face shadows from her past, demons from her desires, and choices that will forever shape who she is.

A brand-new, sexy series from Karina Cooper featuring fearless heroine Cherry St. Croix-debutante by day, bounty hunter by night-set in an alternate London where proper Victorian society sits above a seedy steampunk underworld teeming with dubious loyalties, advanced technology, and incredible magic.

Kate DouglasDream Bound is released tomorrow, as well.  It is the first book from the Dream series.

Synopsis…

They are creatures of light in search of an energy source to help them survive. So when the Nyrians discover amazing power in the extreme passion and sexual pleasure of humans, they come to Earth to satisfy their needs…

DREAM LOVER

For years, Mac Dugan has been trying to find the mysterious being he once loved and then lost. Now he has gathered a group of six highly intuitive and extremely sexual men and women at a secret mountain hideaway. Here he hopes to focus their potent sensuality into highly erotic fantasies that will summon his lover, Zianne. What he doesn’t anticipate is each team member making extraordinary sexual discoveries of their own…

The next two are from much, much anticipated spin-off series.  Once Burned, by Jeaniene Frost, is the first book of Vlad’s Night Prince series.  I broke down and read the first 20%, and I cannot wait to get my hands on the rest.

Synopsis…

She’s a mortal with dark powers…

After a tragic accident scarred her body and destroyed her dreams, Leila never imagined that the worst was still to come: terrifying powers that let her channel electricity and learn a person’s darkest secrets through a single touch. Leila is doomed to a life of solitude… until creatures of the night kidnap her, forcing her to reach out with a telepathic distress call to the world’s most infamous vampire…

He’s the Prince of Night…

Vlad Tepesh inspired the greatest vampire legend of all — but whatever you do, don’t call him Dracula. Vlad’s ability to control fire makes him one of the most feared vampires in existence, but his enemies have found a new weapon against him – a beautiful mortal with powers to match his own. When Vlad and Leila meet, however, passion ignites between them, threatening to consume them both. It will take everything that they are to stop an enemy intent on bringing them down in flames.

Having just finished The Darkest Seduction this past weekend, I can say that I am really ready to get my hands on Wicked Nights.  It is the first book from Gena Showalter‘s LotU spin-off series, Angels of the Dark.

Synopsis…

Leader of the most powerful army in the heavens, Zacharel has been deemed too dangerous, too ruthless, and if he isn’t careful, he’ll lose his wings.  But this warrior with a heart of ice will not be deterred . . . until a vulnerable human tempts him with a carnal pleasure he’s never before known.

Accused of a crime she did not commit, Annabelle Miller has spent four years in an institution for the criminally insane.  Demons track her every move, and their king will stop at nothing to have her.  Zacharel is her only hope for survival, but is the brutal angel with a touch as hot as hell her salvation—or her ultimate damnation?

The only young adult offering this week is from Sarah ZettelDust Girl is the first book from her American Fairy series.

Synopsis…

This new trilogy will capture the hearts of readers who adore Libba Bray’s Gemma Doyleseries. Callie LeRoux lives in Slow Run, Kansas, helping her mother run their small hotel and trying not to think about the father she’s never met. Lately all of her energy is spent battling the constant storms plaguing the Dust Bowl and their effects on her health. Callie is left alone, when her mother goes missing in a dust storm.

Her only hope comes from a mysterious man offering a few clues about her destiny and the path she must take to find her parents in “the golden hills of the west” (California). Along the way she meets Jack a young hobo boy who is happy to keep her company—there are dangerous, desperate people at every turn. And there’s also an otherworldly threat to Callie. Warring fae factions, attached to the creative communities of American society, are very aware of the role this half-mortal, half-fae teenage girl plays in their fate.

  1. Hi K! I’m going to read Vlad before Zacharel so that I won’t be left in the dust with my book group. I believe a few of them are getting their hands on Vlad asap. After Vlad, then it’s all about that ice-cold angel! xoxo

    • Count me in, too. Definitely Vlad first, but then diving into the Angels. I was sort of intrigued when I heard about Angels of the Dark, but after reading Paris’ book I am really looking forward to it now. But Vlad…must have. Now.

  2. I can’t wait for Once Burned & Wicked Nights to show up in my mailbox. They need to get here quick!! :-)

    • Damn quick. Next weekend is a long weekend here, so that means no mail delivery for three days. They have until Friday to arrive, or someone gets hurt.

      • I think the mail carrier has a healthy fear of me anyways, what with my glaring out the window looking for books. A little more fear won’t hurt at all.
