Poison Princess Giveaway

Over on her Facebook page, there is a Kresley Cole video in which she talks about the inspiration behind her upcoming YA series, The Arcana Chronicles.  Stepping away from the immensely popular IAD series, it features 16 year old heroine Evie Greene facing a whole lot of trouble.

It does sound fun…and different.  Not a were or vamp in sight (at least I don’t think so, anyways).  Poison Princess is due out on October 2nd, and if you are interested in winning a copy just leave a comment here.  Open to all, as long as you have made at least one previous post on this blog.  Winner to be chosen at random.  Giveaway will close Sunday night at Midnight (my time).  Good luck!

Synopsis…

She could save the world—or destroy it.

Sixteen year old Evangeline “Evie” Greene leads a charmed life, until she begins experiencing horrifying hallucinations. When an apocalyptic event decimates her Louisiana hometown, Evie realizes her hallucinations were actually visions of the future—and they’re still happening. Fighting for her life and desperate for answers, she must turn to her wrong-side-of-the-bayou classmate: Jack Deveaux.

But she can’t do either alone.

With his mile-long rap sheet, wicked grin, and bad attitude, Jack is like no boy Evie has ever known. Even though he once scorned her and everything she represented, he agrees to protect Evie on her quest. She knows she can’t totally depend on Jack. If he ever cast that wicked grin her way, could she possibly resist him?

Who can Evie trust?

As Jack and Evie race to find the source of her visions, they meet others who have gotten the same call. An ancient prophesy is being played out, and Evie is not the only one with special powers. A group of twenty-two teens has been chosen to reenact the ultimate battle between good and evil. But it’s not always clear who is on which side….

  1. OK, so I’m not the ultimate YA lover, but I have to give Kresley a shot to change me over! Thanks for the contest K :)

  2. Since I love Coles Immortals I’m up for giving her ya a looky see.
    Count me in please.
    Thanks for the giveaway.
    Stephanie

  3. I am not super hot on YA, but the idea behind the series is really unique and I love Cole’s sense of humor so I will be giving this one a try – whether I win or not:)

    • I was not into it for a long time, but it really is growing on me. I think it is the pretty shiny covers that got me hooked, though. Good luck.

  4. I’ve heard about this book for a while, but after watching the video, I really want to read it like right now, haha! Love her IAD series, so this can only be just as good! Thanks for the giveaway!

    • I wouldn’t mind not having to wait, either! I think that between Gena Showalter’s Zombie book, and this one, this one is the one I am most looking forward too. Good luck.

  5. I love IAD series and I just finished Lothaire, this would be a great next read for me. Thanks for the giveaway! Happy reading to all..

  6. I’ve recently started to get more into YA. I’m currently reading Divergent. I love Cole’s IAD series so I will try her YA series when it comes out.

  7. That was cool to see the video she did :-) I’m really looking forward to this one! Love Kresley’s writing! Thanks so much for the giveaway!!

    • Loved Immorals After Dark and MacCarrick Brothers. Can’t wait to read the new series. Thanks for the getaway!!!

      • Hey Tiffany – I haven’t read the MacCarrick brothers. I always wondered how KC’s pop culture sense of humor would translate to a historical, though.
        Good luck.

    • Hey Amber – no problem. Can’t wait, either. Actually, as I find out a little bit more about the ideas behind the series, I am getting more excited for it.

  8. I loved every book in her IAD series, so I am curious to see what she does with YA. Cant wait to read this!!

  9. I love KC’s IAD series… curious about how her YA genre would be like. Would the hero be as hot and as alpha as the IAD series… hmmm..

    • It will be interesting to see how she handles writing about one couple through more than one book, too (or at least Evie and Jack are going to be the series main characters, as far as I understand it).

  10. As bitter as I am about so many of my favorite UF/PNR authors taking time away from their adult series to hop on the YA bandwagon, I hope KC can add something a step above a lot of the “popular” YA series that really aren’t that good.

  11. I’m not a big fan of YA, but this sounds interesting enough I’ll probably check it out. Thanks for sharing the info.
