There are quite a few books hitting the shelves this week, but I have to say my pick of the week would have to be Darynda Jones‘ Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet. It is a good, solid series with great characters, humor, and mystery. I am looking forward to diving into this one, for sure.
Sometimes being the grim reaper really is that. Grim. And since Charley’s last case went so awry, she has taken a couple months off to wallow in the wonders of self-pity. But when a woman shows up on her doorstep convinced someone is trying to kill her, Charley has to force herself to rise above. Or at least get dressed. She quickly realizes something is amiss when everyone the woman knows swears she’s insane. The more they refute the woman’s story, the more Charley believes it.
In the meantime, the sexy, sultry son of Satan, Reyes Farrow, has been cleared of all charges. He is out of prison and out of Charley’s life, as per her wishes and several perfectly timed death threats. But his absence has put a serious crimp in her sex life. While there are other things to consider, like the fact that the city of Albuquerque has been taken hostage by an arsonist, Charley is having a difficult time staying away. Especially when it looks like Reyes may be involved. Just when life was returning to normal, Charley is thrust back into the world of crime, punishment, and the devil in blue jeans.

What was your biggie for this week? Are you diving headfirst into Iced, or did something else catch your eye?

Well DUH! Was their even a second choice for this one LOL
It was between this one and Iced, since I have a major interest in that one. But since it was already a new series alert, the field was clear.
I have managed to avoid the Fever series and all related matter so I never think about those.
Are you going to break down and read them at some point, or is it a no go for you? I wanted to get them done before Iced was out, but didn’t have enough time.
I was told by a lot of people that she likes cliff hanger endings so I marked them off my list (which is only a partial lie since I have the first 3 books of Fever series in my dusty section of TBR stack of paperbacks.)
I will be grateful that I don’t have the year-long wait to see what happens, that is for sure.
I’m reading this right now (about 1/2 way through) and I’m lovin’ it of course. This is absolutely one of my favorite series
You…you…you got your copy already?!?
*Hides in the corner* Only because I ended up getting an Amazon Prime membership. I fought it for soooo long because of the fee, but I couldn’t fight it any longer…*big sigh* Just bought it this month. So…some books I get on release day. I still order books from Book Depository as well (pre-ordered paperbacks) and of course those I have to wait for, but I order my Hardcovers from Amazon (or Barnes & Noble sometimes). With the membership, some come on release day and some within 2 days afterwards. I get free shipping w/no minimum order with the membership.
I hope you are ashamed of yourself…you made me jealous again. The Book Depository isn’t that much cheaper, if at all, for hardcovers, so I would totally do the same thing if I had access.
TOTALLY.ASHAMED. I do love The Book Depository though for the free shipping/no minimum order, even though there is a longer wait for the books sometimes. It such a great site for international peeps too!
And a lifesaver for giveaways, so that like you say they are not limited to one country. That always sucks.
