Young Adult New Series Alerts…

It always amazes me how fast the week goes by, since it seems like just yesterday that I did my last New Series Alert post.  There are only two young adult series starting up this week.  The first one is from Michele VailUndeadly is the first book of the Reaper Diaries.

Synopsis…

Molly Bartolucci wants to blend in, date hottie Rick and keep her zombie-raising abilities on the down-low. Then the god Anubis chooses her to become a reaper—and she accidentally undoes the work of another reaper, Rath.

Within days, she’s shipped off to the Nekyia Academy, an elite school that trains the best necromancers in the world. And her personal reaping tutor? Rath. Who seems to hate her guts.

Rath will be watching closely to be sure she completes her first assignment-reaping Rick, the boy who should have died. The boy she still wants to be with.

To make matters worse, students at the academy start turning up catatonic, and accusations fly—against Molly. The only way out of this mess? To go through hell. Literally.

The second series is from author Melissa WestGravity is the first book of The Taking series.

Synopsis…

In the future, only one rule will matter:

Don’t. Ever. Peek.

Seventeen-year-old Ari Alexander just broke that rule and saw the last person she expected hovering above her bed—arrogant Jackson Locke, the most popular boy in her school. She expects instant execution or some kind of freak alien punishment, but instead, Jackson issues a challenge: help him, or everyone on Earth will die.

Ari knows she should report him, but everything about Jackson makes her question what she’s been taught about his kind. And against her instincts, she’s falling for him. But Ari isn’t just any girl, and Jackson wants more than her attention. She’s a military legacy who’s been trained by her father and exposed to war strategies and societal information no one can know—especially an alien spy, like Jackson. Giving Jackson the information he needs will betray her father and her country, but keeping silent will start a war.

Are either of these on your must-read list?  I have to admit, I was going to be strong, but the synopsis for Gravity has caught my attention.  And maybe Undeadly…crap, there goes my good attentions.

  1. I’ve had Gravity pre-ordered for months, but they keep pushing back the release date. Plus, depending on what sources you check, you’ll get different release dates. I’m really looking forward to this one, I just don’t know when it’s going to show up! Lol! I feel bad for the author that the date keeps changing :(

    • I found that Entangled had that problem with a few different authors. It seemed like they hit the market with a big splash, and then it sort of went into a holding pattern. Shea Berkeley had the same thing happen – books two and three were pushed way back, too.

  2. Hi Kaleigha,

I just finished reading Gravity on Kindle and I liked it. The author has tried to create something different with all the overlapping Paranormal things available in the market. It has more action than romance though that could change in the coming books
