Cover Lover – 5 New Titles

Well, it looks like there is a bit of a run going on for cover reveals the last couple of weeks. This time around, I have five newbies to show off, most of whom came once again from Goodreads. Caris Roane starts a new series, Men in Chains, with the release of Born in Chains on October 1st.

Fangs for Nothing, the second duology from Erin McCarthy and Kathy Love, will be released on July 2nd.

Yasmine Galenorn is great about showing her cover art early, and this one for Autumn Whispers is no exception. Look for it on September 24th.

Amazon doesn’t have a listing for this one yet, but Meljean Brook has upped the cover for her upcoming Iron Seas novella, Tethered.

And this final one is from Gena Showalter‘s White Rabbit Chronicles series. Through the Zombie Glass will be released later this year.

I am not feeling Born in Chains, to be honest. Or Fangs for Nothing, either. But I think that both Autumn Whispers and Tethered are great. I do find it a bit sad that the cover for Tethered, an e-novella, is better than a lot of covers you see for full print releases. I am very glad that they kept the theme going for the White Rabbit Chronicles books, and while I don’t like this one quite as much as the one for Alice in Zombieland, I am still really happy with it. Any one in particular you are loving?

New Release Info…

newsIt is time again for a double-check on all of the authors listed in the Series Reading List pages. I have finished A-D, and between that and a random search there were a couple of interesting things I came across…

  • The second book in Jean Johnson‘s Guardians of Destiny series will be called The Grove, and it will be released on December 3rd.
  • The October 29th Black Wings book from Christina Henry now has a title. It looks like this one will be called Black Heart.
  • Kate Locke‘s third Immortal Empire book will be called Long Live the Queen, and it will also be released on October 29th.
  • Cold Blooded, the third book from Amanda Carlson‘s Jessica McClain series, will be released on October 8th.
  • It looks like Caris Roane‘s Ascension series is indeed ending. Born in Chains, her October 1st release, is part of a new series called Men in Chains.
  • August 27th is the release date for the next Kerrelyn Sparks book, this one called The Vampire with the Dragon Tattoo.
  • If you are a fan of Cat Adams‘ Blood Singer series, the sixth book will be called To Dance With the Devil and it will be out on November 5th.
  • The release date is TBA, but it looks like Midnight Breed #12 from Lara Adrian will be called Crave the Night.
  • November 5th is also the release date for a G.A. Aiken Dragon Kin novella. No other info available as yet.
  • The second book of Alyssa Day‘s new League of the Black Swan series will be called The Unforgiven.
  • There will be another Morganville Vampires book from Rachel Caine. This next one will be called Daylighters, and it will be released on November 5th.
  • This October, Jacqueline Carey will release the second book of her new Agent of Hel series, Autumn Bones.
  • The second book from Gail Carriger‘s spin off from her popular Parasol Protectorate series, Curtsies and Conspiracies, will be released on November 5th.
  • Dakota Cassidy‘s 8th Accidental Friends book, The Accidental Werewolf: Something About Harry, will be coming out on December 3rd.
  • This December, Andrea Cremer returns to her Nightshade world with the release of book 4, Snakeroot.
  • There is some Kresley Cole news that I was happy to hear. Book two of her YA Arcana Chronicles series, Endless Night, will be coming out on October 1st, and the second Dacians book (title TBA) will be released on December 3rd.

Here is the blurb for Endless Night, and by the sounds of it things are about to get very interesting…

In the second book of the Arcana Chronicles Evie has now fully come into her powers as the tarot Empress. And Jackson was there to see it all. In the aftermath of killing Arthur, the tarot Alchemist, Evie realizes that a war is brewing between the other teens that, following the apocalypse, have been given powers and its kill or be killed. Things get even more complicated when Evie meets Death, the mysterious, sexy Endless Knight. Somehow the Empress and Death share a romantic history – one that Evie can’t remember, but Death can’t forget. She is drawn to the Endless Knight, but is in love with Jack. Determined to discover why she’s been granted these powers, Evie struggles to accept her place in a prophecy that will either save the world, or completely destroy it.

This and That…

newsAs always, in the process of updating the new release pages, I found a few more books that are on the horizon.

  • The second book of Coreene Callahan‘s new Knight Avenged series has been pushed way back to April 8th of next year.
  • November 5th will see the next Bound by Magick book from Lauren Dane, called Burning Wild.
  • November 5th is also the date for a Thea Harrison Elder Races book, a Meljean Brook Iron Seas book, and Nalini Singh‘s next Guild Hunter book (featuring Raphael and Elena).  All have titles TBA.
  • Author Lauren Kate‘s Fallen series (supposedly being optioned for a movie) is finished, so it looks like she is turning her attention to a new series, called Teardrop.  The first book, also called Teardrop, will be hitting the shelves on October 22nd.
  • October 1st is the release date for Caris Roane‘s next Ascension novel, Born in Chains.
  • Rather than info, this is more like lack of info.  Christine Feehan was recently asked what she would be working on next, and she said that after the long delayed Leopard’s Prey she was in fact without a contract.  She was not sure what would be coming, or when we would get it.  If I remember correctly, this same situation came up last year with Ms. Feehan, which just seems so strange to me.
  • The next H&W Investigations book from Jess Haines, Forsaken by the Others, will be released on July 30th.
  • Hannah Jayne‘s next Underworld Detection Agency novel, Under a Spell, will be out on August 13th.
  • To Kiss a Dragon is the title of the next G.A. Aiken Dragon Kin book, and it is scheduled for release on October 1st.  No clue who this one is about, and if ever there was a series that needed a character guide, this is it.
  • The pre-order links are up for Keri Arthur‘s 6th Dark Angels book, Darkness Splintered.  It will be out on November 5th.
  • A couple of weeks ago, word came out that Devon Monk was starting an Allie Beckstrom spin-off series called Broken Magic.  Well, the pre-order links for the first book, Hell Bent, are up now.  It is due out on November 5th.
  • October 1st is the release date for the next Cassie Palmer book from author Karen Chance, called Tempt the Stars.

Anything there you are looking forward to, or are you giving most of them a pass?  It looks like there is a ton coming out on November 5th, for some odd reason, so might have to save up for that weeks’ order.

Cover Lover – 7 New Titles

After getting behind the last week or so, I debated about going back and tracking down what covers I had missed, but it didn’t seem like too many at all.  This batch is a bit on the bigger side, with a couple of good ones.  Devon Monk continues her Allie Beckstrom series with the release of Magic for a Price on November 6th.

This one is from author Caris RoaneGates of Rapture is the 6th book in her Guardians of Ascension series, due out on December 26th.

Hmm, nice.  The cover is out for the second book in Stephanie Tyler‘s Eternal Wolf Clan series, Dire Wants.  This one will be released on November 6th.

Beth Ciotta starts up a new series this November called The Glorious Victorious Darcys.  Book one will be called Her Sky Cowboy.

King of the Damned is the title of the next book from Juliana Stone‘s League of Guardians series, which is due out on  November 27th.

Werewolf in Denver is the next book from Vicki Lewis Thompson‘s Wild About You series, which is due out on October 2nd.

And this final one is from author Maurissa Guibord.  I haven’t heard anything about Revel yet, other than that it is Young Adult, and will be released in hardcover on February 12th.

Cover Lover – 9 New Titles

In the process of updating the new release pages I have come across a few new covers.  Some are great – some not so much, though.  The first one really caught my eye – it is from the upcoming new series from Anya Bast called Brotherhood of the Damned.  The first book is Embrace of the Damned, and it should be out on May 1st.

Next up is Captivated.  It is the third book in Lauren Dane‘s Phantom Corps series, and it should be on the shelves on May 1st, as well.

Sharon Shinn is new to me, but she will be releasing a new shifter book on April 3rd called The Shape of Desire.  By the cover, I really thought it was more YA than adult, but I was wrong.

Number four is from Caris Roane and her Ascension series.  Obsidian Flame is the fifth book, due out on April 24th.

Lies & Omens is the next Shadows Inquiries book from Lyn Benedict.  It will be released on April 24th.

Aaand, looks like there has been a bit of a design change for Lydia Dare.  Her next book, The Wolf Who Loved Me, gave me more of the old-time historical romance cover vibe than a paranormal than her other books.  This one is due out next April.

Rebecca Zanetti‘s next Dark Protectors book cover follows the theme of the past 3, which I appreciate (I don’t like it when they change design in mid stream).  Hunted is an April 24th, release.

The Claimed is the title of the second book of Caridad Pineiro‘s new Sin Hunters series, due out on May 1st.

And finally, it the Elisabeth Staab King of Darkness cover.  This is the first book in a new series, called the Chronicles of Yavn (which I always read as Yawn), and should be available on February 1st.

Cover Lover – 2 New Titles

Only two covers this time around.  First up is the fourth book from Caris Roane‘s Ascension series, this one called Born of Ashes.  I have the first book waiting to be read, and already the fourth one is coming out.  Huh.  This one is available on January 3rd.

The second cover is a big departure from the previous two in the series.  Blood Eternal is the third book in Marie Treanor‘s Awakened by Blood series.  Books one and two featured the blond chick in a red dress, and this one has gone more standard.  Look for it on October 4th.

New Release Dates

Quite a few to share this time around…

  • J.D. Robb‘s next In Death book will be called Celebrity in Death.  It is the 34th title in the series, and should be available on February 1st.
  • On March 6th, Jessa Slade will release her 4th Marked Souls book with the release of Darkness Undone.  A bit of a name change for this one, stepping away from the “in Shadows” of the first three.
  • Stephanie Tyler will debut a new series with the release of Dire Needs on March 6th.  No word on the series name, as yet
  • The third book from the Dark Ink Chronicles from Elle Jasper now has a release date.  Eventide will be available on March 6th.
  • Now or Never is the title of the third book in Michele Bardsley‘s Wizards of Nevermore series.  This one is scheduled for release on March 6th.
  • Yay!  We will get the fourth book of Thea Harrison‘s new Elder Races series next March 6th.  The title is Oracle’s Moon.
  • Nina Bangs returns to her Castle of Dark Dreams series with the release of Wicked Edge, due out next March 6th.
  • I am looking forward to this one.  Nalini Singh‘s Guild Hunter compilation book, Angels’ Flight, is looking like a February 28th release.
  • On February 7th, the 11th book from Yasmine Galenorn‘s Sisters of the Moon series will be coming out.  That one is called Shaded Vision.
  • Hm.  Interesting.  Usually Joey W. Hill‘s books are all “Vampire”, but looks like her next one will be a bit different.  Something About Witches is due out on February 7th.
  • The fourth book from the Ascension series by Caris Roane will be called Born of Ashes.  This one should be available on January 3rd.
  • Adrian Phoenix‘s fifth Maker’s Song book will be called On Midnight Wings, and should be available on January 31st.
  • And finally, the fifth book from Jennifer Estep‘s Elemental Assassin series will be called By A Thread.  It is due out on January 31st.

Random Updates

Well, looks like I stumbled my way through and got some sort of linkage going between Facebook and here, thanks to the suggestions of Lea.  There is a badge thing I whipped up, found over on right hand column under the page listings that will take you right to the page.  Any info or details that I missed can be upped at Facebook, if you like to keep everything sort of organized.  I have made a separate page here for Random Comments, just for those like me that are not that Facebook comfortable. The link is at the end of the page lists, on the right.

Since Amazon has been playing around with the whole PNR forum, I have toyed with linking my own forum here, but I am not sure I could handle that end of it, too.  But if things get more confusing I might give one a try.  Setting it up would be fun, but the day to day stuff would take a lot of time.

Anyhow…just a few things to mention.

  • Kim Harrison has released the title of her next The Hollows book on her Facebook page.  It will be called A Perfect Blood, but no details as yet on release date.  Thanks to Lea for the info.
  • Kresley Cole will be doing a cover release for Lothaire early this Tuesday morning (anything before noon is early for me).  It will be open to people who do the Like thingy for her post, found HERE  Got to say, majorly looking forward to that one.
  • Anne Marsh‘s long, long, LONG delayed book Bond With Me now seems to be a July 4th release, and looks like the second book in the series will be called His Dark Bond.  That one, so far, is scheduled for a January 31st, 2012 release.  I can’t tell you how many times I have pre-ordered and cancelled this one due to the shifting release dates, but looks like things are good to go this time.
  • Caris Roane will continue her Ascension series with the release of Born of Ashes next January 3rd.  I have seen quite good reviews for the first book, which is staring at me from the TBR mountain as I type…

Random Updates

Wow, it has been a bit of a dry spell post wise for the last couple of weeks, but at least I dug up a couple of new tidbits…

  • well, Bond With Me from Anne Marsh, was scheduled to be released a couple of months ago, but has now been pushed way, way back to July of next year.
  • Shayla Black‘s Embrace Me At Dawn has been all over the place release date wise, from the end of this year to early next year to next summer.  Well, now we will have to wait until February 2012 for the next installment of the Doomsday Brethren series.  That is a huge push back, I wonder what is going on with this title?
  • and another one that has seen a bit of a shift is Gena Showalter‘s The Darkest Surrender.  Originally planned for July 2011, it looks like Strider’s story will now be a October 2011 release.
  • In her newsletter, Lara Adrian gave us a couple of hints about book 10 in her Midnight Breed series.  Chase’s story (finally!) will be called Darker After Midnight, and should be available next fall.  I can’t wait.
  • I know there are a lot of Nicole Peeler fans around, and it looks like the fourth book of her Jane True series will be out next August.  It will be called Eye of the Tempest.
  • After License to Ensorcell, Katharine Kerr‘s next book will be called Water To Burn.  It should be available next August.
  • There has been a bit of a change for the next Dragon Kin book from G.A. Aiken.  Looks like the September 6th release date is still a go, but the title has changed from How to Drive a Dragon Crazy to The Dragon Who Loved Me.
  • I have no info on this one yet other than a title, but Sharie Kohler is set to release a new paranormal on August 30th.  It is called Night Falls on the Wicked, and I hope it is part of the Moon Chasers series.
  • Book three of Caris Roane‘s Ascension series will be called Wings of Fire, and should be available at the end of next August.
  • Looks like the very successful Midnight series from Nancy Gideon will be adding at least one other title.  Bound By Moonlight will be released on July 26th.
  • Alix Rickloff will debut a new historical paranormal next June 28th, this one called Lord of Shadows.
