Cover Lover – 6 New Titles

16 Apr

Half way through the month already.  God, time is zipping along.  This first cover is from the second book from the new Cassie Alexander Nightshifted series.  Moonshifted is due out on November 27th.

Next up is Death’s Rival, the next Jane Yellowrock novel from Faith Hunter.  This one is due out on October 2nd.

Ann Aguirre recently upped the cover for her next Sirantha Jax novel, Endgame, which is an August 28th release.

The fourth book from Donna Grant‘s upcoming Dark Warrior series will be called Midnight’s Warrior.  This one will be out on November 27th.

I have to admit, my one time love for Christine Warren‘s The Others series has taken a beating the last few books, but I have been waiting to get my hands on Tess and Raphael’s story, and this is it.  November 27th is the release date for Drive Me Wild.

Last one this go round is from D.D. Barant and the Bloodhound Files.  Undead to the World will be out on November 27th.

This and That…

9 Apr

Not a lot going on, but a few new things have come up this past few days…

  • Looks like there is a push back for the first book of Gena Showalter‘s upcoming Otherworld Assassin series.  Last Kiss Goodnight was scheduled for November 27th, but it is now looking like a February 1st release.
  • The next book of the Chicagoland Vampire series from Chloe Neill will be called House Rules.  Look for it next February.
  • A Love Untamed is the title of the upcoming seventh Feral Warriors book from Pamela Palmer.  It will be out on December 26th.
  • There will be a novella from the Moon Shifter’s series by Katie Reus coming this August, called Lover’s Instinct.
  • Cassie Alexander‘s second Nightshifted book, Moonshifted, will be released late November.  It will be followed by Deadshifted next year.
  • And finally, some info is available about the next couple of Christine Warren The Others books.  November 27′s Drive Me Wild is a re-write of Fur For All, which featured Tess and Rafael.  April 3013 will see the release of Hungry Like a Wolf, which is a re-write of Fur Play.  This one is Logan and Honor’s story.

Cover Lover – 2 New Titles

9 Oct

There are still a couple that I am faithfully looking for (all new Lover Reborn, I hope) but I have to thank Lea for this one.  Virna DePaul released the cover for the third book in her Para Ops series, this one called Chosen by Sin.  This is Dex’s story, I believe, but there is no official release date as of yet.

The second one is from a former favorite series of mine that has lost steam the last few books.  Christine Warren returns to her world of The Others with the April 24th release of On The Prowl.  Even though I have not enjoyed the last four books or so, I still go into a new one with high hopes.  I do wonder if this one is Tess and Raphael’s story…

Book News…

15 Aug

After I made the book news post below, I found a few more.  Never fails, does it?

  • I haven’t found much info out yet whether it is a new offering or a redo of one of the Fixed series, but Christine Warren will have a new one coming out on April 24th called On The Prowl.
  • The next Queen Betsy book from MaryJanice Davidson, Undead and Unstable, will be released on June 5th.
  • June 5th will see a new release from the Anita Blake series from Laurell K. Hamilton.  It is the 21st book of the series, but no word on the title at this point.  The preorder link is HERE
  • Anya Bast will have a new book coming out on May 1st called Embraced of the Damned.  It is the first book of a new series, called Brotherhood of the Damned.
  • The third book in Rebecca Zanetti‘s Dark Protectors series will be called Hunted.  Look for it on April 24th.
  • There will be another Lords of the Satyr book released next April 24th.  Sevin is the seventh book in the series from Elizabeth Amber.
  • and finally, Lynn Kurland will have a new book called All For You coming out at the end of next April.

Cover Lover – 3 New Titles

29 Mar

While I am still faithfully (and impatiently) waiting for the covers for Archangel’s Blade and Dark Predator, I rounded up a couple of others.  First up it the eighth title from Joey W. Hill‘s Vampire Queen series, this one called Bound by the Vampire Queen.  It has a release date of December 6th.

The second cover is from Christine Warren.  Now, I used to love the early Others books.  Loved them.  I even had her own page in the featured author section.  But then something just seemed to change, and the books didn’t work much for me anymore.  The funny thing is, I still hope for a good one every time I see a new listing.  This one, Not Your Ordinary Faerie Tale, is no exception.  I guess I will find out when it is released on November 1st.

The last one is from Terry Spear and her Wolf series.  Dreaming of the Wolf is a December 1st release.  Terry is great at keeping her website updated and her readers informed.

Cover Lover – Black Magic Woman

28 Sep

After what I can only with great regret say has been a less than stellar last couple of books, Christine Warren will be back with her next The Others novel on April 26th, 2011.  I am not sure who Black Magic Woman is featuring, but from the cover and title I would say it sounds like a redo of Fur For All (Fixed #5).  This gets so confusing trying to organize chronologically earlier books from a previous series along with all new stories.

Random Updates

27 Apr

In checking the release dates on my summaries (tedious, but I still try and do the double-checks every month), it seems like there have been some changes to some favorites…

  • Dakota Banks‘ second book in her Mortal Path series, Sacrifice, has been pushed back from June to August 31st.
  • Kelly Armstrong‘s Waking the Witch will be coming a little sooner than originally thought.  It has moved from August 3rd to July 27th.
  • Discord’s Apple, from Carrie Vaughn, will be out in the first week of July instead of the end of the month.
  • Looks like Taken By Midnight, the next book in the Lara Adrian Breeds series, will be coming out a month later than first reported.  We will have to wait until September 28th now.
  • Christine Feehan has just started work on the next Ghostwalkers book, this one called Ruthless Game.  No other details as yet, but usually the Ghostwalkers are a late December release. (Chapter one of Dark Peril is up in her members section, for any who are interested).
  • The next Others book from Christine Warren, Prince Charming Doesn’t Live Here, has been given a release date of November 2nd.  I still have high hopes for the series, even though I wasn’t a big fan of the last two.

NYT Bestsellers

The week of March 12th

There was a bit more action on the charts this week, with some previous authors holding on, and some new ones making themselves felt.  On the softcover side, Christine Warren and Angela Knight both debuted their new books near the top, while Alyssa Day‘s Atlantis Redeemed made a very good showing.  Kresley Cole was still holding on with Pleasure of a Dark Prince, as well.

On the hardcover side, J.D. Robb and Kim Harrison both are going strong in their second week, while Anne Bishop’s Shalador’s Lady debuted quite high.  Laurell K. Hamilton and Charlaine Harris are still holding on near the bottom of the charts, as well.

Pick of the Week

28 Feb

(February 28th – March 6th)

I have to admit I am a total The Others junkie.  Christine Warren is a little bit Kresley Cole, a little bit Lora Leigh, and a lot of fun.  The only book of hers that I didn’t care for was You’re So Vein, simply because I had a long standing dislike of Ava (one of my least favorite female characters, ever).  But other than that, I have never been let down by one of her books.  Been waiting awhile for this new one, Born to be Wild.  It is a whole new story from the world of the Others…

Josie Barrett brings out the animal in men. Literally. As the local veterinarian in a town that’s approximately seventy percent Others—mostly shapeshifters—Josie deals with beastly situations all the time. It’s practically part of her job description. But when the werewolves of Stone Creek, Oregon, start turning downright feral, Josie smells a rat—among other, more dangerous critters.

Teaming up with the ferociously sexy Eli Pace, a full-time sheriff and part-time were-lion, Josie tries to contain the shapeshifting problem before it spreads like a virus. But when more shifters get infected—and stuck in their animal forms—the fur really begins to fly. Josie and Eli have to find the cause, fast, before the whole town goes to the dogs. But first, they have to wrestle with a few animal urges of their own.

There are a couple of more great ones this week.  Alyssa Day‘s Atlantis Redeemed, Angela Knight’s Master of Fire,  and the new one from Sophie Renwick,  called Velvet Haven, all look good, too.  Plus, I have high hopes for Addison Fox‘s new series, starting with Warrior Ascended.   Too many books, too little time…

Spotlight on…Christine Warren

27 Feb

On the eve of her next The Others release, March 2nd’s Born To Be Wild, Christine Warren has updated her site to include the cover of her next release.  Book 10 of the Others series will be called Prince Charming Doesn’t Live Here.   And…that’s it.  No idea on release date, or if it is a redo from one of the Fur Factor stories or something totally new.  Nada.  I will now of course have to dig until I find out.  Still, as long as she keeps ‘em coming out, I am a happy reader.
