Cover Lover – 3 New Titles

Just a quick drive-by post to up a few covers I found over on Goodreads. Two have a “purple darkness” theme going on, and one is a re-vamp (uh, no pun intended). Dianne Duvall‘s next Immortal Guardians book, Darkness Rises, will be released on October 1st. I have heard such good things about this series, and yes, it is still on Mount TBR. One day…

darkness rises

And this next one is from Keri Arthur. The second book of her re-released Nikki and Michael series, Hearts in Darkness, will be coming out on August 27th.

And finally, this e-book from Cynthia Eden is actually a re-release of the story she contributed to the Entangled anthology. Her contribution was called A Bit of Bite, and the stand-alone re-release will be available for no charge very shortly. Amazon isn’t showing a listing for it as yet, but apparently it will be up very soon.

a bit of bite

I am actually kind of liking the purple thing going on – a little different, anyways. Hard color to pull off with a guy on the front, though. Any of these you are waiting for?

Random Updates…

As I am going through the Series Reading list pages and updating, I am coming across a bit of new info on some upcoming releases.  As you can probably tell, I am only through the first three pages (so A-F), but it still amazes me how much info I can miss.

  • The second book of Jocelynn Drake‘s new Asylum Tales series will be called Dead Man’s Deal, and it will be out next May 7th.
  • This coming January, Lenore Appelhans will release her debut young adult book, Level 2.  Well, Amazon is now listing the second book in the Memory Chronicles series for January 2014, and it will be called…Level 3.  Huh.
  • The second book of Jill Archer‘s new Noon Onyx series, Fiery Edge of Steel, will be released on May 28th.
  • From what I can tell, there will be an e-book only anthology released February 12th called Vampires Gone Wild.  It will feature novellas from Kerrelyn Sparks, Amanda Arista, Pamela Palmer and Kim Falconer, with the Sparks story being from her Love at Stake series.
  • I enjoyed Of Poseidon by Anna Banks, and now the preorder links for book two of the series, Of Triton, are showing a release date of May 28th.  Looking forward to this one.
  • From what I am seeing around, Jennifer Lynn Barnes is starting a new young adult series in January with the release of Nobody.  It is about young people no one ever notices, which makes them the perfect assassins.
  • Some are saying this is stand alone, others are saying it is the first of a series, but Rachel Caine will release a book next July called Prince of Shadows.  It is a retelling of Romeo and Juliet from the point of view of Benvolio and Rosaline.
  • There will be a second book of the Chimney Rock series from Stella CameronDarkness Bred will be out next May 28th.
  • Karina Cooper will have a new Dark Mission novella out next March 5th called Wicked Lies.  It will be followed by another full length book, One for the Wicked, on April 30th.
  • Sarah Crossan‘s second Breathe novel, Resist, will be out October 13th.
  • Fans of Coreene Callahan‘s Dragonfury series will be happy.  Looks like there will be at least three more books in the series.  Fury of Desire, Fury of Obsession, and Fury of Surrender will be released starting next spring.
  • A fourth book from Lauren Dane‘s Bound By Magick series will be out next November.  No word on the title, as yet.
  • Also unnamed is the fourth book from Dianne Duvall‘s Immortal Guardians series, but it has a release date of October 1st.
  • Lexi George will release another Demon Hunting book next February 1st called Demon Hunting in a Dive Bar.  I completely forgot to post the cover, too.  Duh.
  • This one seems to have been on the back-burner for quite a while, but the final book in Kate Elliott‘s Spiritwalker trilogy, Cold Steel, is now showing a release date of June 25th.
  • There will be an anthology featuring Jennifer Estep, Rob Thurman, and Rachel Caine coming out next July 30th called Carniepunk.  I have no clue what series the stories will be coming from, though.
  • And finally, it looks like the ninth book in Jennifer Estep‘s Elemental Assassin series will be called Heart of Venom.  Look for it on August 27th.

Cover Lover – 7 New Titles

I have been a good girl and doing the updating, and on my quest I have found a couple of new covers over at Goodreads and Amazon.  J.A. London‘s third Darkness Before Dawn book, After Daybreak, will be released on June 25th.

Another one from the young adult isle is Shutdown from Heather Anastasiu.  This is the third book of the Glitch series, due out on July 2nd.

The hardcover re-releasing of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series from J.R. Ward continues on.  This time around it is book four, Lover Revealed.  Look for it on July 2nd.  I like the fact that they kept the same feel for the re-releases, the same art and colors.  I would not have been impressed if there had been a redo, since I do love everything to line up.

The Chicagoland Vampires series from Chloe Neill have great covers, and this next one is no exception.  Biting Bad, book number eight in the series, is due out on August 6th.

Alexandra Ivy, Nina Bangs, Dianne Duvall, and Hannah Jayne will release an anthology, Predatory, next May 7th.  I do know that in this one Alexandra starts her new Sentinels series, and Dianne continues her Immortal Guardians stories.  Sounds good.

Now, I was not kind about the cover of the first book in the Seven Signs series from Erica Hayes.  Dude had some sort of belly shirt…chain mail…thing…going on, and it was not a good look.  I can handle the Redemption cover a bit better, even though I can’t quite tell what he is wearing.  Except that it looks like it is made of human skin.  Aaand it is still better than the first book.  Look for Redemption on March 5th.

And the final one for today is from Kat Richardson‘s Greywalker series.  Possession is due out on August 6th.

Random Updates…

I have been updating the new release pages over the last week or so, and there were a few things that popped up worth noting…

  • Kate Daniels 6 now officially has a name, and any info on an upcoming Ilona Andrews‘ book is a good thing.  Magic Rises will be released next July.
  • It looks like the next Morganville Vampire book from Rachel Caine will be called Fall of Night, and it will be released in hardcover on May 7th.
  • Jean Johnson will be writing what appears to be a spin-off of her Sons of Destiny series.  This one is called Guardians of Destiny, and the first book is The Tower, which should be released on June 4th.
  • Kady Cross will release the third book of her Steampunk Chronicles series, The Girl With The Iron Touch, on June 1st.
  • Looks like the Zombies are back.  White Trash Zombie Apocalypse, the third book of Diana Rowland‘s White Trash Zombies series, will be released early next year.
  • Book number 22 (if I remember correctly) of Laurell K. Hamilton‘s Anita Blake series will be called Affliction.  Look for it in hardcover on June 4th.
  • The next Yasmine Galenorn Indigo Court book, Night Vision, will be coming out on July 2nd.
  • Book two of Kris DeLake‘s Assassin’s Guild series, Killer Rivals, will be released on July 1st.
  • Donna Grant will have at least four more titles in her Dark Warriors series.  Midnight’s Kiss will be out on June 4th, and Midnight’s Captive will be out June 25th, with two more to follow later in the year.
  • Alexandra Ivy‘s new series, called The Sentinels, will start off with a novella in the anthology Predatory.  It also features Nina Bangs, Dianne Duvall and Hannah Jayne, and it is due out on May 7th.
  • The third book of Jessica Shirvington‘s The Violet Eden Chronicles, Emblaze, will be out on March 1st.
  • Cold Copper is the title of the next Age of Steam novel from Devon Monk, and it will be on the shelves on July 2nd.

I finished my third read of the second Darynda Jones Charley Davidson book, Second Grave on the Left, and I will update the character guide for it by tomorrow night.  I had read both books two and three once for enjoyment, and then once for the guides.  Then I deleted all of the notes I had made, so this is actually round three.  I want to have them updated by the time Fourth Grave Beneath My Feet hits the shelves on October 30th.  Also, the Thea Harrison novella Hunter’s Season (I hate e-books) slipped by me, and that will be added to the Elder Races guide within the next couple of days, as well.  WordPress has been bitchy and not updating properly, so I had to take a bit of a break.  That will hopefully get back to normal tomorrow.

Cover Lover – 2 New Titles

Thanks to Lea, who pointed out that Dianne Duvall had upped the cover for her next Immortal Guardians book, Phantom Shadows.  This one will be available on October 2nd.

I found this one over on the blog of Deborah Cooke.  She upped the cover for her next Dragonfire book, Ember’s Kiss, also due out on October 2nd.

On a side note, check back on Monday to see the cover for the first book in Gena Showalter‘s new White Rabbit Chronicles series, called Alice in Zombieland.  The back cover and inside flap have already been posted on Gena’s Facebook page, and the big front cover reveal will be on Monday.  Looking forward to it, too.

Cover Lover – 4 New Titles

Only four this time around.   The first one is from the anthology Nightshift, featuring stories from Kate Douglas, Crystal Jordan, and Lynn LaFleur.  This one is due out on November 29th.

I am a big fan of Alexandra Ivy‘s Guardians of Eternity series, so I was glad to see the cover for Bound by Darkness.  This one is coming our way on November 29th, too.  I am getting a whole X-Men/Wolverine vibe, which is not a bad thing.

I found a smaller version of this one a while back, but this is the first decent sized one I could get my hands on.  Blood Right is the second book in Karin Tabke‘s Blood Moon Rising trilogy, due out early next year.

And finally, the cover for the Dianne Duvall book Night Reigns is out.  This is the second book of her Immortal Guardians series, due out on December 6th.

Random Updates

I found a bit of info either on new preorders or new listings for later this year…

  • September 27th is the release date for Conquer the Dark, the next book from L.A. Banks.
  • Wayfinder, the next book from C.E. Murphy, is scheduled for release on September 6th.
  • A new book is scheduled from Jayne Castle.  Looks like Canyons of Night will be out on August 31st.

  • One of my favorites, Cynthia Eden, begins a new series this November.  The first book is called Angel of Darkness.

  • Nightshift is the name of the November 29th release from Kate Douglas.
  • On November 29th, Alexandra Ivy, Angie Fox, Tawny Taylor and Jen Haines will release The Real Werewives of Vampire County.

  • and finally, there will be a hardcover reissue of J.R. Ward‘s first Black Dagger Brotherhood book, Dark Lover.  This special collector’s edition will be available on October 4th.

New Series Alert – Immortal Guardians

This week is the start of a new series from Dianne Duvall.  Book one is called Darkness Dawns, introducing readers to a world of vampires, immortals, and humans with extraordinary gifts, and where passion can last forever, if you’re willing to pay the price . . .

Synopsis…

Once, Sarah Bingham’s biggest challenge was making her students pay attention in class. Now, after rescuing a wounded stranger, she’s landed in the middle of a battle between corrupt vampires and powerful immortals who also need blood to survive. Roland Warbrook is the most compelling man Sarah has ever laid hands on. But his desire for her is mingled with a hunger he can barely control…

In his nine centuries of immortal existence, no woman has tempted Roland as much as Sarah. But asking her to love him is impossible—when it means forfeiting the world she’s always known, and the life he would do anything to protect…

Looks like book two will be out at the end of this year, but there is no other info available as yet.
