Cover Lover – 12 New Titles

Well, looks like a few new covers to add to the pile. Some of these have been out for a while, but I just discovered them myself during my last updating thingy.

Starting with the adult titles, it looks like Elizabeth Hunter is starting a new series this month called The Irin Chronicles. The Scribe will be released on October 15th.

the scribeSteal the Day is a new one coming from Lexi Blake‘s Thieves series, which will be released on October 22nd.

steal the dayHm. My first reaction to this next one was “Pretty. But what the hell is he wearing?!? And…is that a squid tattoo?” Eternal Echoes is part of Anastasia Virgas‘s Sisters of the Divine series, and it was released on October 7th.

eternal echoesDemon Creed, the third book from Paula Altenburg‘s Demon Outlaws series, will be released next May 27th.

the demon creedI had pegged Stephanie Tyler‘s new Defiance series as adult, but I am starting to see it listed as the dreaded “New Adult” here and there. So, that means I have no clue. Either way, Redemption will be out on November 18th.

redemptionThese next few are all Young Adult. I thought the cover for Endless by Amanda Gray was pretty. It was released on October 8th.

endlessI have seen good reviews for Reboot by Amy Tintera, and now the cover for the second book has been revealed. Rebel will be out on May 6th.

Rebel JKT HC des3.inddErin Bowman‘s Stolen, which is a prequel novella from her Taken series, will be released in e-format on February 4th.

stolenThis one is the cover for one of the e-novellas from Cassandra Clare‘s The Bane Chronicles. The Fall of the Hotel Dumort will be released on October 15th.

the fall of the hotel dumortThe second book in Eve Silver‘s The Game series, called Push, will be released on June 10th.

pushBook three of Joelle Charbonneau‘s The Testing series, Graduation Day, will be released on June 3rd.

graduation dayAnd this final one is from Lisa McMann. Gasp is the third book in her Visions series, and it will be out on June 3rd, as well.

gaspWell, what do you think? Anything catch your eye? As usual, the YA covers out do the adult ones (probably explaining why I am buying more YA lately. Shiny covers).

Cover Lover – 11 New Titles

I was pretty much feeling like a big shot, since I thought I was all caught up. On everything. That smug attitude lasted about half an hour, when I took a quick peek on Amazon and discovered another 70 or so titles to add to the new release pages, and I realized that I am behind on three character guides. Meh. While I was looking around, I did find a few new-to-me covers, so I thought that warranted a Cover Lover post.

So, let’s start with some novella covers. This first one is from Thea Harrison and her Elder Races series, and it is called Dragos Takes a Holiday. Huh. It is due out in late November.

dragos takes a holidayI have some confusion about this one, since I remember Shelly Laurenston/G.A. Aiken saying specifically that she was not putting out a novella, but Amazon has A Tale of Two Dragons listed for a November 1st release. I discounted it until I came across the cover, so I am not really sure what is going on.

a tale of two dragonsThis next one is the cover for the mass market re-release of Cynthia Eden‘s first Night Watch book, Eternal Hunter, which will be out on January 7th.

eternal hunterJoan Swan adds to her Phoenix Rising series with the release of Shatter on December 31st.

shatterAt first, I didn’t even realize that this was the second book in a series, but Lucy March will release her second Nodaway Falls book on January 28th. It is called That Touch of Magic.

that touch of magicThese next six are all from the world of YA. Erin Bowman will release the second book from her Taken series, Frozen, on April 15th.

frozenI think this next one sounds like it might be fun. Rachel Hawkins will release Rebel Belle on April 8th.

rebel belleI love this next one, and I might totally nab the design for my next Blu-ray cover project. Promise of Shadows is by Justina Ireland will be out on March 11th.

61bO+OjzmNL._AA1500_This next one is from Nina Berry and her Otherkin series. I read the first book, but I found I didn’t have any interest in continuing on with the rest of them. It looks like Othersphere, book three, will be out on December 31st.

othersphereWayfarer, the second book in Lili St. Crow‘s Tales of Beauty and Madness series, will be released on March 6th.

wayfarerAnd finally for today we have the cover for In Dreams by Erica Orloff, which is described as Inception meets Unearthly. It will be out on January 9th.

in dreamsI saw the cover for Lora Leigh‘s Rule Breaker, and if we were hoping for a sweeping change in design to mark the first hardcover Breeds book, we are going to be disappointed. It is better than that atrocity Stygian’s Honor where Stygian’s head was simply erased, but not much. The official cover release should be soon-ish.

New Series Alerts…

The middle of the month is not overrun with new series, but there are a couple of young adult ones getting their start this week. Erin Bowman‘s Taken is the first book of the Taken series.

takenSynopsis…

There are no men in Claysoot. There are boys—but every one of them vanishes at midnight on his eighteenth birthday. The ground shakes, the wind howls, a blinding light descends…and he’s gone.

They call it the Heist.

Gray Weathersby’s eighteenth birthday is mere months away, and he’s prepared to meet his fate–until he finds a strange note from his mother and starts to question everything he’s been raised to accept: the Council leaders and their obvious secrets. The Heist itself. And what lies beyond the Wall that surrounds Claysoot–a structure that no one can cross and survive.

Climbing the Wall is suicide, but what comes after the Heist could be worse. Should he sit back and wait to be taken–or risk everything on the hope of the other side?

Also starting up this week is the first installment of The Bane Chronicles. Cassandra Clare‘s e-series featuring warlock Magnus Bane will be released over the course of the next few months, and then all of the stories will be released in a print-format book. This first story is called What Really Happened in Peru.

the bane chroniclesSynopsis…

There are good reasons Peru is off-limits to Magnus Bane. Follow Magnus’s Peruvian escapades as he drags his fellow warlocks Ragnor Fell and Catarina Loss into trouble, learns several instruments (which he plays shockingly), dances (which he does shockingly), and disgraces his host nation by doing something unspeakable to the Nazca Lines.

This standalone e-only short story illuminates the life of the enigmatic Magnus Bane, whose alluring personality populates the pages of the #1 New York Times bestselling series, The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices series. This story in The Bane Chronicles, What Really Happened in Peru, is written by Sarah Rees Brennan and Cassandra Clare.
