Cover Lover – 4 New Titles

It seems like it has been a while since the last cover post, for some reason, but there are only four new ones to share this time around. Starting with the adult releases, Donna Grant‘s Fire Rising (from her Dark Kings series) will be released on June 3rd.

fire risingThe third book of the Noon Onyx series from Jill Archer will be called White Heart of Justice, and it will be released on May 27th.

white heart of justiceThe next two are young adult. Earthquake is the title of the second book in the Earthbound series by Aprilynne Pike, and it will be released on July 15th.

earthquakeAnd the final one for this quick little post is from a new series from Lindsay Cummings. The Murder Complex is the first book of The Murder Complex series, and it will be released on June 10th.

the murder complexI have to admit, I have liked the Donna Grant books I have read, but I never realized how far behind I am (and how fast she puts out books). Not sure that is one I will ever get caught up on. The Murder Complex is one I will be giving a try when the prequel novella, The Fear Trials, is released on May 27th.

New Release Dates…

I have been adding quite a few new releases the last few days, so I thought I might list a few here.

  • Charlaine Harris and Toni Kelner will be editing another anthology together called Games Creatures Play. It is due out on April 1st.
  • There will be a new series coming from author Virna DePaul early next year called the Belladonna Agency. Book one is called Turned, and it is due out on April 1st. Awakened follows on April 29th.
  • The third book from Jill Archer‘s Noon Onyx series, White Heart of Justice, will be released on May 27th.
  • Jacqueline Carey‘s third Agent of Hel book will be called Poison Fruit, and it wil lbe released next October.
  • It looks like the Finishing School series by Gail Carriger will have at least one more book. Book three will be called Waistcoats & Weaponry, and it is due out sometime next year.
  • May 6th is the release date for the third book of Kiera Cass‘s The Selection series, The One. There will also be a print version of the two e-novellas called The Selection Stories: The Prince and The Guard on February 4th.
  • Next July will see the release of the fifth and final book of Yasmine Galenorn‘s Indigo Court series, called Night’s End.
  • It looks like there will be a 4th World of Nightwalkers book from Jacquelyn Frank. Forged is due out on April 29th.
  • Another series on my want to read list is Stacia Kane‘s Downside Ghosts. There will be a novella released on October 8th called Close to You, and the as yet untitled sixth book will follow next July.
  • Air Bound, the third book from Christine Feehan‘s Sisters of the Heart series, will be out on May 27th.
  • There is no official title as yet, but the second book of Rick Yancey‘s 5th Wave series will be released on May 6th.
  • I am pretty sure these two Cynthia Eden books are part of her new Phoenix series, but details are sketchy right now. Burn for Me is due out on January 28th, and Once Bitten, Twice Burned follows on April 29th.
  • The second book from Amanda Sun‘s Paper Gods series, Rain, will be released on March 25th.
  • And it looks like Sarah J. Maas will be releasing at least one more novella from her Throne of Glass series. The Assassin’s Blade is due out on March 13th.

That is a quick round-up of a few of the new release dates. Anything you are looking forward to? Cynthia Eden is a favorite of mine, and and the Belladonna Agency series looks interesting. I am so going to start picking up the Downside Ghosts books, too, right after my YA TBR pile hits a manageable size.

Cover Lover – 7 New Titles

Meh, maybe I should have said new-ish for the titles.  This is sort of a mixed bag post, to say the least.  This first one is from a favorite of mine, Cynthia EdenAvenging Angel is the fourth (and apparently final) book in her Fallen series, and it is due out on May 28th.

avenging angel

This next cover is from the Noon Onyx series by Jill ArcherFiery Edge of Steel is the title of the second book, and it will be available on May 28th, as well.  I get a real video-game vibe from this one.

fiery edge of steel

I have been seeing this next one popping up everywhere lately.  Carniepunk is an anthology featuring a number of top writers, including Rachel Caine, Jennifer Estep, and Rob Thurman.  It will be released on July 30th.

carniepunk

Well, I have to admit that this cover for Darynda JonesFifth Grave Past the Light isn’t quite what I expected.  Maybe it is because I loved the reaper outfits on the previous covers, but this one doesn’t live up to the rest of the series for me.  In fact, it actually gives me a young adult vibe.  Anyways, it will be hitting the shelves on July 9th.

fifth grave past the light

On the young adult side of things, Replica is a new one coming from Jenna Black on July 16th.  I am not sure as yet if this is a stand alone title, or the first book in a series.

replica

Melissa West‘s first book, Gravity, has only recently been released, but the cover for the second book is now out.  Hover will be hitting the shelves next August 6th.

And this final one is from Aprilynne Pike.  She is starting up a new series called Earthbound next July, with the first book also being called Earthbound.

earthbound

Did any of these ones catch your eye?  Are you a bit disappointed in the Fifth Grave cover like I am (I do so love those reaper outfits), or do you think it is a nice change is style?

Random Updates…

As I am going through the Series Reading list pages and updating, I am coming across a bit of new info on some upcoming releases.  As you can probably tell, I am only through the first three pages (so A-F), but it still amazes me how much info I can miss.

  • The second book of Jocelynn Drake‘s new Asylum Tales series will be called Dead Man’s Deal, and it will be out next May 7th.
  • This coming January, Lenore Appelhans will release her debut young adult book, Level 2.  Well, Amazon is now listing the second book in the Memory Chronicles series for January 2014, and it will be called…Level 3.  Huh.
  • The second book of Jill Archer‘s new Noon Onyx series, Fiery Edge of Steel, will be released on May 28th.
  • From what I can tell, there will be an e-book only anthology released February 12th called Vampires Gone Wild.  It will feature novellas from Kerrelyn Sparks, Amanda Arista, Pamela Palmer and Kim Falconer, with the Sparks story being from her Love at Stake series.
  • I enjoyed Of Poseidon by Anna Banks, and now the preorder links for book two of the series, Of Triton, are showing a release date of May 28th.  Looking forward to this one.
  • From what I am seeing around, Jennifer Lynn Barnes is starting a new young adult series in January with the release of Nobody.  It is about young people no one ever notices, which makes them the perfect assassins.
  • Some are saying this is stand alone, others are saying it is the first of a series, but Rachel Caine will release a book next July called Prince of Shadows.  It is a retelling of Romeo and Juliet from the point of view of Benvolio and Rosaline.
  • There will be a second book of the Chimney Rock series from Stella CameronDarkness Bred will be out next May 28th.
  • Karina Cooper will have a new Dark Mission novella out next March 5th called Wicked Lies.  It will be followed by another full length book, One for the Wicked, on April 30th.
  • Sarah Crossan‘s second Breathe novel, Resist, will be out October 13th.
  • Fans of Coreene Callahan‘s Dragonfury series will be happy.  Looks like there will be at least three more books in the series.  Fury of Desire, Fury of Obsession, and Fury of Surrender will be released starting next spring.
  • A fourth book from Lauren Dane‘s Bound By Magick series will be out next November.  No word on the title, as yet.
  • Also unnamed is the fourth book from Dianne Duvall‘s Immortal Guardians series, but it has a release date of October 1st.
  • Lexi George will release another Demon Hunting book next February 1st called Demon Hunting in a Dive Bar.  I completely forgot to post the cover, too.  Duh.
  • This one seems to have been on the back-burner for quite a while, but the final book in Kate Elliott‘s Spiritwalker trilogy, Cold Steel, is now showing a release date of June 25th.
  • There will be an anthology featuring Jennifer Estep, Rob Thurman, and Rachel Caine coming out next July 30th called Carniepunk.  I have no clue what series the stories will be coming from, though.
  • And finally, it looks like the ninth book in Jennifer Estep‘s Elemental Assassin series will be called Heart of Venom.  Look for it on August 27th.

New Series Alerts…

Another week, another list.  There are a few new series starting up this week, and one I have been quite looking forward to.  This first one is from debut author Jill ArcherDark Light of Day is the first book of her Noon Onyx series.

Synopsis…

Armageddon is over. The demons won. And yet somehow…the world has continued. Survivors worship patron demons under a draconian system of tributes and rules. These laws keep the demons from warring among themselves, the world from slipping back into chaos.

Noon Onyx grew up on the banks of the river Lethe, daughter of a prominent politician, and a descendant of Lucifer’s warlords. Noon has a secret—she was born with waning magic, the dark, destructive, fiery power that is used to control demons and maintain the delicate peace among them. But a woman with waning magic is unheard of and some will consider her an abomination.

Noon is summoned to attend St. Lucifer’s, a school of demon law. She must decide whether to declare her powers there…or attempt to continue hiding them, knowing the price for doing so may be death. And once she meets the forbiddingly powerful Ari Carmine—who suspects Noon is harboring magic as deadly as his own—Noon realizes there may be more at stake than just her life.

The Noon Onyx reading list is HERE.

If my foggy memory serves me correctly, Boyfriend From Hell was due out quite a while ago but was pushed way, way back to tomorrow’s release date.  It is the first book of Jamie Quaid‘s Saturn’s Daughter series.

Synopsis…

They say justice is blind. But Justine isn’t.

Justine (Tina) Clancy is just an ordinary law student with a faulty arrest record, a part-time job in Baltimore’s radioactive Zone, and a family secret so bizarre even she doesn’t believe it. That is, until in a fit of fury she damns her boyfriend to hell—and it’s exactly where he ends up.

Much to her own surprise, Tina is apparently one of Saturn’s daughters, with the power to wield vigilante justice. But poor Max didn’t deserve to go up in flames, even if he did almost run her over with her own car. Tina’s convinced someone cut the brakes—and now a relentless nemesis is stalking her through the Zone’s back alleys, where buildings glow, statues move, and chemical waste exposure comes with interesting consequences. Tina’s usually a loner, but now she needs a posse like no other: a shape-shifting kitten, an invisible thief, a biker gang, a snake-charming private detective, a well-meaning cop, and her sleazy, sexy boss. But in between freeing Max from hell, saving her own neck, and solving a mystery that threatens the Zone and her newfound friends, how is she ever going to study for finals?

The Saturn’s Daughter reading list is HERE.

Amazon is still listing this next one as having a release date of September 25th, but I believe that I saw somewhere that Melissa de la Cruz‘s first Wolf Pact book, also called Wolf Pact, had been delayed.  There was talk of it being an e-book release only, but I can’t really say for sure if that is true or not.

Synopsis…

Lawson and his brothers escaped from the underworld and now lead desperate, dangerous lives, pursued by the Hounds of Hell from one town to the next, never calling any place home. But when the hounds finally catch up with them and capture the girl Lawson loves, the hunters become the hunted. Lawson will stop at nothing to track down the hounds—especially their ruthless former general—even if the chances of saving Tala are slim. The risks of being recaptured and enslaved by Romulus are high, and the boys’ search becomes increasingly perilous as they get closer to the hounds’ trail. But an unexpected discovery leads them to the one person who may be the key to winning the inevitable confrontation to come.

Meanwhile, Bliss Llewellyn is adjusting to humanity after giving up her immortal vampire life. As she and her aunt Jane unravel the clues surrounding a disturbing attack on a young girl, they find themselves stalked by a terrifying force, so stealthy that Bliss doesn’t know who to blame until Jane is taken by the hellhounds themselves. Bliss will do whatever it takes to save her—even if it means joining forces with the insolent, dangerously good-looking boy with a wolf’s soul and a too-intimate knowledge of Jane’s captors.

The Wolf Pact reading list is HERE.

And the final one for this week is Gena Showalter‘s Alice In Zombieland, the first book of her new White Rabbit Chronicles series.  The Book Depository sent out an early shipment notice, so hopefully I can get my hands on this by the end of this week.

Synopsis…

She won’t rest until she’s sent every walking corpse back to its grave.  Forever.

Had anyone told Alice Bell that her entire life would changed course between one heartbeat and the next, she would have laughed.  From blissful to tragic, innocent to ruined?  Please.  But that’s all it took.  One heartbeat.  A blink, a breath, a second, and everything she knew and loved was gone.

Her father was right.  The monsters are real.

To avenge her family, Ali must learn to fight the undead.  To survive, she must learn to trust the baddest of the bad boys, Cole Holland.  But Cole has secrets of his own, and if Ali isn’t careful, those secrets might just prove to be more dangerous than the zombies.

The White Rabbit Chronicles page can be found HERE.

Are any of these on your must read list?  Which one do you have the highest hopes for?

2013 Release Dates

Now, it seems so very very odd to be finding new release dates for mid and late 2013 – but then I realize that 2012 is already half way gone.  I really didn’t see that sucker fly by, and time really does move faster the older you get.  Who knew?  Anyways, I thought I would post some of the long term release dates I have been finding…

  • Shannon K. Butcher will be releasing a new Sentinel Wars book, Falling Blind, on April 2nd.  No clue who this one is about, but I do hope for Grace and Tor.
  • Right now, Thea Harrison is finishing up her fourth (and supposedly final – for a while) Elder Races novella, Hunting Season.  2013 will see at least two full length books – Shadow Game on April 2nd, and a title TBA on November 5th.
  • The fourth Iron Seas book from Meljean Brook will be released on September 3rd, and Guardian Demon will be released on May 7th.
  • Looks like a long wait after Archangel’s Storm for the next Guild Hunter book.  Nalini Singh‘s next installment will be released on September 3rd. 2013.
  • This November, there will be an Erin McCarthy and Kathy Love anthology called The Fangover.  Well, looks like the sequel, Fangover II, will be hitting the shelves next July.
  • Night Vision, from Yasmine Galenorn, will be released on July 2nd.  It is the 4th book in her Indigo Court series.
  • And the fourth book from Keri Arthur‘s Dark Angels series, Darkness Unmasked, will be released on June 4th.
  • The as-yet untitled 5th book from Jennifer Ashley‘s Shifters Unbound series will be released on June 4th, as well.
  • Lora Leigh, Alyssa Day and Meljean Brook will be teaming up for an untitled anthology on May 7th.
  • Eternal Demon is the title of the 5th Mark of the Vampire book from Laura Wright, and it should be released on May 7th.
  • Alyssa Day will be starting a new series, The League of the Black Swan.  The first book, as yet untitled, is due out on May 7th.
  • If you are a Deadtown fan, the 5th book of the Nancy Holzner series is listed as a July 30th release.
  • The second book from Jill Archer‘s new Noon Onyx series will be released on May 28th.
  • The Sookie Stackhouse series is winding down, and it looks like Charlaine Harris‘ lucky number 13 will be called Dead Ever After.  This one should be out next May.
  • Born of Fury, part of Sherrilyn Kenyon‘s League series, will be out on April 14th.
  • And next April 14th is also the release date for a new Jane True book.  The Nicole Peeler book will be called Tempest Reborn.

Cover Lover – 5 New Titles

This group is a little bit of a mixed bag when it comes to covers.  This first one is a beauty, but then all of the covers for Jennifer Estep‘s Elemental Assassin series are.  I have thought they were all great, even the ones for the e-novellas, and the one for August 21st’s Widow’s Web is no exception.

I nabbed this next one from All Things Urban FantasyTerry Spear continues her Wolf shifter series with the release of A Howl for a Highlander next February 1st.

This one is from Melissa MayhueWarrior Reborn is the second book in her Warriors series, and the tenth book in her Daughters of the Glen series, if that makes any sense.  It will be released on October 30th.

I have been trying to find this one for a while now.  Tricia Rayburn‘s Dark Water, part of her Sirens young adult series, will be released in hardcover on July 10th.

This final one is…tricky.  I sort of like it, and yet part of me finds something odd about it the longer I look at it.  Dark Light of Day is the first book from Jill Archer‘s upcoming Noon Onyx series, and it will be released on September 25th.
