Pick of the Week…

Good lord, I need to update the background since both Shadow’s Claim and Rogue Rider are hardly “coming soon”.  Anyways, my pick of the week is a bit…different.  The third and final book of the Blood Moon Rising trilogy, I really have to know how it all plays out.  Book one was good, book two I wasn’t as fond of, but there were developments at the end of the second that I just didn’t see coming.  So, my pick of the week is Blood Vow from Karin Tabke.

Synopsis…

A volatile mix of both Lycan and Slayer, half-breed Falon is Alpha female of her pack, marked by rival Alpha brothers. But when she learns that she is the daughter of the Master Slayer who murdered Lucien and Rafael’s parents, the revelation throws her relationship with both brothers into chaos. Falon begs them not to condemn her for her father’s deeds. She realizes before her Alpha mates do that they are destined to be one and pleads with them to accept the unusual triangle. Now, if Lucien and Rafael cannot overcome their pride and accept their fate, the annihilation of the Lycan race waits within the shadow of the Blood Moon…

Pick of the Week

Karin Tabke‘s Bloodright, the second book of her Blood Moon trilogy, gets my vote for pick of the week.  It is the first time I have ever read a series where there is one hero in the first book…and a different one in the second.  Can’t wait to see where this one goes.

Synopsis…

Cover Lover – 8 New Titles

So, last night I decided to take the plunge and buy the new theme for Wicked Scribes I was looking at.  Yeah, didn’t go so well.  The place was a total mess for a while, so that plan went bust.  I will still be keeping my eyes open for something a bit different, but try number one was not a big success…ick.

Anyhow, a few more to add to the cover collection.  There is only one that I am really looking forward to – and the cover is a big spoiler.  I figured that book three of Karin Tabke‘s Blood Moon trilogy, Blood Vow, was going the way of having both brothers as mates to Fallon, and that is the vibe I am getting from this one.  It should be released on December 4th.

Next up is Still Life With Shapeshifter, the November 6th release from Sharon Shinn.  It is part of her Shifting Circle series.

Dakota Cassidy will release the next book in her Accidental Friends series, The Accidental Genie, on December 4th.

The cover for the next Mari Mancusi book, Blood Forever, was just upped in the publisher’s catalogue.  It is part of her Blood Coven series, and will be released on September 4th.

Reaper’s Vow, the October 2nd release from Sarah McCarty, is the third book in her Reapers series.

Not feeling this one, at all.  The Fangover, an anthology from Erin McCarthy and Kathy Love, will be released on November 6th.

Nina Bangs continues her Castle of Dark Dreams series with the October 2nd release of Wicked Whispers.

And finally, I do wish I liked Steampunk, cause they seem to get some really good covers.  Riveted, the next book from Meljean Brooks‘ Iron Seas series, is an example.  This one is due out on September 4th.

New Release Dates…

Looks like I have a few more to add to the New Release pages…

• Keri Arthur‘s third Dark Angels book, Darkness Devours, will be released next June.
• Undercurrent is the title of the second book from Tricia Rayburn‘s Siren series, due out on May 22nd.
• May 1st is the scheduled date for Zoe Archer‘s Demon’s Bride, the second book in her Hellraisers series.
• Yay.  Karin Tabke‘s second of three books from her Blood Moon Trilogy is now up for pre-order.  Bloodright will be out next February 7th.
• This was originally supposed to be a spin-off series, but now it looks like a stand alone book.  Rhyannon Byrd will release Ashe Granger’s story, Deadly is the Kiss, next March 20th.
• This is a new one to me, but Cara Lynn Shultz will release a new book, called Spellcaster, next March 20th.  I will be looking around for details.
• Been wondering where this one was.   The links are now up for Gena Showalter‘s The Darkest Seduction, which is Paris’ story, will be available on February 21st.
• Darkness Awakening, the second book in Devyn Quinn‘s Vampire Armageddon series, will be released next August.
• and from what I understand, the final book in Christina Dodd‘s Chosen Ones series will be called Wilder (probably featuring Alexander Wilder and Charisma Fangorn), and will be available sometime next August.

Book News…

I get so excited when I get that first little tidbit of info about a series I love, and I found a biggie today (of course, I will leave it for last).

• Dakota Cassidy will be adding to her Accidental Friends series with the release of book number six.  Accidentally Dead, Again is due out June 5th.
• The Blood Moon Trilogy from Karin Tabke kicked off earlier this year with the release of Blood Law, and that book had what has to be one of the biggest, most shocking cliff-hanger endings I had seen in a long, long time.  But now Amazon is listing a book called Blood Vow as a June 5th release.  That was not originally one of the titles of the three books, so I don’t know if it is a re-name of the second or third books, or something new from the series altogether.  I just know I will be grabbing it, no matter what.  There has been no updating on the author’s site or blog, but I will update when I have more info.
• Darkness Devours, the third book in Keri Arthur‘s new Dark Angels series, will be released on June 5th, as well.
• The Lost Angels is a new series soon to start from author Heather Killough-Walden, and info is already starting to emerge about the second book.  Messenger’s Angel will also be released on June 5th.
• There is also a bit of news about Regan Hastings‘ Awakening series.  Book three will be called Visions of Chains, and is due out next June.
• Vicki Lewis Thompson‘s third Wild About You novel will be called Werewolf in Seattle, and is also scheduled for release next June 5th.

and…

• the preorder links are up at Amazon for the next Nalini Singh Psy/Changeling book.  Riaz and Adria’s story will be called Tangle of Need, and will be available on May 29th.  Or,  you know, 288 days from today.  Not that I counted.  Really.

Cover Lover – 4 New Titles

Only four this time around.   The first one is from the anthology Nightshift, featuring stories from Kate Douglas, Crystal Jordan, and Lynn LaFleur.  This one is due out on November 29th.

I am a big fan of Alexandra Ivy‘s Guardians of Eternity series, so I was glad to see the cover for Bound by Darkness.  This one is coming our way on November 29th, too.  I am getting a whole X-Men/Wolverine vibe, which is not a bad thing.

I found a smaller version of this one a while back, but this is the first decent sized one I could get my hands on.  Blood Right is the second book in Karin Tabke‘s Blood Moon Rising trilogy, due out early next year.

And finally, the cover for the Dianne Duvall book Night Reigns is out.  This is the second book of her Immortal Guardians series, due out on December 6th.

New Series Alert

I have to admit, there are a couple of series starting up this week I have been looking forward to getting my hands on…

Anita Clenney begins her new Connor Clan series with the release of Awaken the Highland Warrior, featuring time travel and hot Scottish men.

Synopsis…

Historian Bree Kirkland has always been in love with the past, but when she accidentally wakes an ancient Scottish warrior who’s spent the past 150 years sleeping in her backyard, her present is suddenly fraught with danger.

Next up is Virna DePaul‘s Chosen by Blood, the first book in her Para-Ops series.  This one sounds like it is something a little different, so I am looking forward to giving it a shot.

Dragon Bound is the first book from Thea Harrison‘s Elder races series, featuring magic and dragons.  Love the dragons.

The one I am most looking forward to is Blood Law, the first book in Karin Tabke‘s Blood Moon Trilogy.  There was a change in cover-art a while back, but this is the official version.

Random Updates

Once again, my snooping found a couple of little tidbits…

• There will be three more Shadowkeepers books from J.K. Beck in 2012.  When Passion Lies is next January, followed by When Darkness Hungers in February, and finally When Temptation Burns in March.
• Ellen Connor‘s debut book from her Dark Age Dawning series comes out this June, but now it appears that the follow-ups will be called Midnight (see cover in post below), coming out this September, and Daybreak in December.
• Jess Haines will have at least three more books in her H&W Investigations series, but no other info available as yet.
• The fourth book of Erin Quinn‘s Haunting series will be called Haunting Embrace, and is scheduled for release this October.
• The final book in Marie Treanor‘s Awakened by Blood trilogy will be called Blood Eternal, and also is scheduled for this October.
• Keri Arthur’s new series, called Dark Angels, will start this September.  Book one will be called Darkness Unbound, and book two is tentatively title Darkness Rising.  No release information available on it as yet.
• Following this May’s Blood Law, Karin Tabke will complete her Blood Moon trilogy with Blood Right in February 2012, and Blood Moon Rising in June 2012.
• Wow.  Looks like Cheryl Brooks‘ next Cat Star Chronicles book will be called, erm, Stud.  It is the seventh in the series, and should be available in February 2012.
• Terry Spear is great about keeping readers informed on coming books.  This fall will see the release of Dreaming of the Wolf, number eight in her Wolf series.  It will be followed by The Wolf and the Seal and Highland Wolf in Paradise, both due out in 2012.
• Nalini Singh has upped some info about the Guild Hunter novella due out later this year.  It will feature Noel, and is part of the Angels of Darkness anthology featuring her, Ilona Andrews, Meljean Brook and Sharon Shinn.  It is scheduled for an October release, and the very pretty cover can be seen in the post below.
