Thanks to Nefertari, who pointed out the cover for the next Laurell K. Hamilton book, Kiss the Dead. This one is due out this June 5th.
This and That…
28 SepWell, this is a post about a bunch of…stuff. You know, not enough to have its own post, but rattling around in my head bugging me that it has to be said? Looks like strange info-dump time, with no theme…
- first of all, I noticed that Wicked Scribes doesn’t work in Internet Explorer very well. Things look funky sometimes, and fixing them for IE made them look wonky in in Firefox. So, if you have the choice, Firefox is the way to go.
- um, yeah. I am in the process of adding e-books to the author pages and their reading lists. New sections will be added, especially for authors like Ilona Andrews and Jeaniene Frost. I haven’t tackled adding e-books to the new release pages yet, since I figure that will take a good long while and I have to track the suckers down first.
- the Elder Races Character Guide has now been updated to include Storm’s Heart (on the day The Book Depository shipped out Serpent’s Kiss, no less). I will be starting the re-read of Archangel’s Blade tomorrow, and hope to have the Guild Hunter Guide updated by the end of next week.
and on the book front…
- looks like the next Anita Blake officially has a title now. Kiss the Dead will be the next book from Laurell K. Hamilton, and is due out on June 5th.
- and Andrea’s book now has a name, as well. The first book from Ilona Andrews‘ spin-off from the Kate Daniels series will be called Gunmetal Magic. Look for it next May.
- I was hoping for the next Christine Feehan Ghostwalker book next March, but seems like Thorn’s story will now be pushed back to July. Blech.
- looks like Lover Reborn might be getting a cover-makeover. The original version of the J.R. Ward book has been pulled recently from the publisher’s site, so here’s hoping. Dude was fugly.
I think that is about it. Still looking for covers for Once Bitten, Bear Meets Girl, and a few others. I do love my hunting…
Book News…
15 AugAfter I made the book news post below, I found a few more. Never fails, does it?
- I haven’t found much info out yet whether it is a new offering or a redo of one of the Fixed series, but Christine Warren will have a new one coming out on April 24th called On The Prowl.
- The next Queen Betsy book from MaryJanice Davidson, Undead and Unstable, will be released on June 5th.
- June 5th will see a new release from the Anita Blake series from Laurell K. Hamilton. It is the 21st book of the series, but no word on the title at this point. The preorder link is HERE
- Anya Bast will have a new book coming out on May 1st called Embraced of the Damned. It is the first book of a new series, called Brotherhood of the Damned.
- The third book in Rebecca Zanetti‘s Dark Protectors series will be called Hunted. Look for it on April 24th.
- There will be another Lords of the Satyr book released next April 24th. Sevin is the seventh book in the series from Elizabeth Amber.
- and finally, Lynn Kurland will have a new book called All For You coming out at the end of next April.
Cover Lover – Hit List
21 FebNumber 2o from Laurell K. Hamilton‘s Anita Blake series, Hit List, now has a cover. This one should be available on June 7th, and I must say I am not really sure about this one. Part of me likes it…and part doesn’t.
Random Updates
31 AugBeen awhile since there was anything to report…
- Lara Adrian‘s next Midnight Breed book, Deeper than Midnight has been pushed way, way back to June 28th, 2011.
- Laurell K. Hamilton‘s next book now has both a title and a release date. Hit List will be available on June 9th, 2011.
- Bastian, the next title in Elizabeth Amber‘s Lords of Satyr series, will be available on April 26th.
- Lydia Dare will have a new book, called It Happened One Bite, coming out on March 1st, 2011.
- Shelly Laurenston‘s next Pride book will be called Big Bad Beast, and will be out on April 26th, 2011.

Seems to be a lot of action on the charts for the whole paranormal genre this week. Some, like Charlaine Harris and MaryJanice Davidson seem glued to it, but it is nice to see Christina Dodd placing with Chains of Ice, and Gena Showalter for her second week with The Darkest Lie. Nalini Singh‘s latest Psy-Changeling book, Bonds of Justice, comes in at number 14, followed by Sherrilyn Kenyon‘s In Other Worlds at 15.
There isn’t much mystery on the hardcover side of things. Urban Fantasy rules with Charlaine Harris on her tenth week with Dead In The Family. She is joined by MaryJanice Davidson with Undead and Unfinished, and Laurell K. Hamilton with Bullet.

Not a lot of change on this one…both Laurell K. Hamilton and Charlaine Harris have seemingly taken over the lists, both hardcover and softcover, and don’t appear to be going anywhere. Ever. Gena Showalter places well with her latest, The Darkest Passion.
On the hardcover side, it is again Hamilton and Harris, but with Jacqueline Carrey thrown into the mix with Naamah’s Curse.

Not a lot of action this week. On the softcover side, Kerrelyn Sparks‘ The Vampire and the Virgin started out high for its first week, and J.D. Robb‘s Big Jack is still up there, too. Kresley Cole climbed a bit, with Pleasure of a Dark Prince.
On the hardcover side, J.D. Robb shows up again, with Fantasy In Death. Black Magic Sanction is still doing very well, from Kim Harrison, and Charlaine Harris‘ Dead and Gone is in the “also selling” category, too. Rounding up the list is Laurell K. Hamilton‘s Flirt and and Shalador’s Lady by Anne Bishop.

There was a bit more action on the charts this week, with some previous authors holding on, and some new ones making themselves felt. On the softcover side, Christine Warren and Angela Knight both debuted their new books near the top, while Alyssa Day‘s Atlantis Redeemed made a very good showing. Kresley Cole was still holding on with Pleasure of a Dark Prince, as well.
On the hardcover side, J.D. Robb and Kim Harrison both are going strong in their second week, while Anne Bishop’s Shalador’s Lady debuted quite high. Laurell K. Hamilton and Charlaine Harris are still holding on near the bottom of the charts, as well.

There weren’t a lot of paranormal romance / urban fantasy on the softcover bestseller list this week. Kresley Cole dropped a bit, but Pleasure of a Dark Prince was still top ten, and Jeaniene Frost‘s First Drop of Crimson went down fast. Archangel’s Kiss by Nalini Singh is off this week altogether.
The hardcover side fared a bit better this week. J.D. Robb debuted at number 1 with Fantasy in Death, the 30th book of the series. Kim Harrison‘s Black Magic Sanction stared it’s run at number three, and Flirt by Laurell K. Hamilton showed up at number 14. Charlaine Harris is still holding on with her Dead and Gone, too.
