Cover Lover – 9 New Titles

6 Apr

A new batch of updating means a new batch of discovered covers.  There is sort of a mixed bag this go round, too.  This first one has been out for a while, but I just noticed it.  Ashes of Honor is the 6th book in Seanan McGuire‘s October Daye series, due out on September 4th.

This next one comes from author Wendy Delsol and her Stork series.  Flock is the third book of the trilogy, due out on September 11th.

Number three is also from the young adult world.  Fragile Darkness is the third book in the Midnight Dragonfly series from Ellie James, and it should be released on November 27th.

I thought this one was kinda fun.  Incarnation is the first book from Emma Cornwall, due out on September 18th.

I am looking very forward to this one.  Mate Claimed, from Jennifer Ashley, will be shifter Alpha Eric’s story.  It will be out on October 2nd.

I was surprised that there is nothing about this upcoming series over on Goodreads.  Susannah Sandlin starts her new Penton Legacy series this June 19th with the release of Redemption.

Meh, this isn’t the best quality, but it will do until I track down a better version.  The third book from Sara Humphreys‘ Amoveo Legend series will be called Untamed, and will be released on November 1st.

Lydia Dare continues her Westfield Wolves series with the release of Wolfishly Yours, due out on November 1st.

And finally, the third book from Donna Grant‘s new Dark Warriors series (a spin-off series from her Dark Warriors books), will be called Midnight’s Seduction.  This one is due out on October 30th.

In the process of updating the new release pages I have come across a few new covers.  Some are great – some not so much, though.  The first one really caught my eye – it is from the upcoming new series from Anya Bast called Brotherhood of the Damned.  The first book is Embrace of the Damned, and it should be out on May 1st.

Next up is Captivated.  It is the third book in Lauren Dane‘s Phantom Corps series, and it should be on the shelves on May 1st, as well.

Sharon Shinn is new to me, but she will be releasing a new shifter book on April 3rd called The Shape of Desire.  By the cover, I really thought it was more YA than adult, but I was wrong.

Number four is from Caris Roane and her Ascension series.  Obsidian Flame is the fifth book, due out on April 24th.

Lies & Omens is the next Shadows Inquiries book from Lyn Benedict.  It will be released on April 24th.

Aaand, looks like there has been a bit of a design change for Lydia Dare.  Her next book, The Wolf Who Loved Me, gave me more of the old-time historical romance cover vibe than a paranormal than her other books.  This one is due out next April.

Rebecca Zanetti‘s next Dark Protectors book cover follows the theme of the past 3, which I appreciate (I don’t like it when they change design in mid stream).  Hunted is an April 24th, release.

The Claimed is the title of the second book of Caridad Pineiro‘s new Sin Hunters series, due out on May 1st.

And finally, it the Elisabeth Staab King of Darkness cover.  This is the first book in a new series, called the Chronicles of Yavn (which I always read as Yawn), and should be available on February 1st.

New Series Alert

28 Feb

There are a couple of interesting new series starting up this week.  Michele Bardsley starts her Wizards of Nevermore series with Never Again, delving into the world of magic and mayhem.

Synopsis…

Lucinda Rackmore never would have been caught dead in a town like Nevermore. Of course, that was before the “great reckoning” drained the family finances and her former lover, ruthless master wizard Bernard Franco, snuffed out Lucy’s magical abilities.

But can Lucy really expect protection from the Guardian of Nevermore, her ex-brother-in-law Gray Calhoun? Gray wants nothing to do with her and Lucy can’t blame him. Not after her sister sacrificed him to a demon lord. Still, with everyone in town looking to settle a score with the Rackmores and Bernard bent on dragging Lucy back into his clutches, Gray might be her only hope for survival…

Looks like the second book, Never Say Never, will be released later this year.

Next up is Lydia Dare‘s Regency Vampire Series.  Book one is called It Happened One Bite, and it follows her recent historical werewolf series.

Synopsis…

Blaire Lindsay’s been warned that her ancestral home is haunted. But it will take more than tales of a ghost to frighten Blaire, a battle-born witch with supernatural strength and the ability to make sparks fly from her fingertips. Hearing spectral wails, she decides to search for their source, and is surprised to find a handsome young man chained to the dungeon wall.

But when Blair frees James from his bonds, she quickly discovers she’s unloosed far more than she could ever have imagined…Soon the castle is overrun with vampires whose perfect manners and compelling blood lust make for some very awkward moments, and Blair and James are joined in the fight of their lives to save everything they hold dear from the forces of evil…

Following on July 1st will be In the Heat of the Bite, book two.

The third new series is from Tamara HoganTaste Me is the first book from The Underbelly Chronicles.

Synopsis…

This first in a gritty, fast-paced, and sexy new urban fantasy romance series featuring a world where incubi, sirens, valkyries, vampires, and werewolves live undetected alongside humankind. Someone has to keep the peace-and the secrets.

Siren rock star Scarlett Fontaine is finally home after an exhausting year on tour with her band. Incubus security guru Lukas Sebastiani has more urgent problems than to protect the stubborn diva, but now that they’re forced into close proximity, they’re fighting an attraction that leads them to the brink of disaster…

No word yet on following books.

Finally, there is one that I only discovered this week.  Under Wraps is the first book in the Underworld Detection Agency Chronicles  from Hannah Jayne.

Synopsis…

As a human immune to magic, Sophie Lawson can help everyone from banshee to zombie transition into normal, everyday San Francisco life. With a handsome werewolf as her UDA boss and a fashionista vampire for a roommate, Sophie knows everything there is to know about the undead, the unseen, and the uncanny. . .

Until a rash of gruesome murders has demons and mortals running for cover, and Sophie finds herself playing sidekick to detective Parker Hayes. Dodging raging bloodsuckers, bad-tempered fairies, and love-struck trolls is one thing. But when Sophie discovers Parker isn’t what he seems, she’s got only one chance to figure out whom to trust. Because an evil hiding in plain sight is closing in. . .and about to make one wisecracking human its means to ultimate power. . .
