Upcoming E-Anthologies…

It seems like there is a growing trend lately to publish a collection of e-novellas put together for one bargain price. Doug Meeks did his review of one such collection called Darkly Dreaming, and September and October have several collections to choose from (that I still have to add to the new release pages, as well. Ugh). I am linking to the Amazon.com listings, since Goodreads doesn’t have all of these as yet.

For September, we start things off with Tall, Dark and Paranormal. Authors include Stephanie Julian, Lori Handeland, and Opal Carew. It was released on September 16th.

Cover Lover – Mega Edition

Wow, there has been a ton of book covers released in the last few days, most of which I got from either Goodreads or Amazon.  This first one is Black City from Christina Henry, the fifth book in the Madeline Black series, which is due out on February 26th.

I forgot to up this one last cover lover post.  Demon Hunting in a Dive Bar is the third book in Lexi George‘s Demon series, due out next February.

This first young adult cover is from the popular Morganville Vampires series.  Rachel Caine will release Fall of Night on May 7th.

Devon Monk may be wrapping up her Allie Beckstrom series, but the Age of Steam series is still going strong.  Cold Copper will be out on July 2nd.

The third book of Lynn Viehl‘s Lords of the Darkyn series, Nightbound, will be released on May 7th.

M.J. Scott‘s Half Light City series continues on April 2nd with the release of the third book, Iron Kin.

Emerald Green is the title of the third and final book in Kerstin Gier‘s Edelstein Trilogy, which is due out sometime next year.

The next Arcadia Bell novel from Jenn Bennett is called Binding the Shadows, and it will be available on May 28th.

It looks like the upcoming anthology, Enthralled, will feature a story from Lora Leigh‘s Breeds series.  There are also stories from Alyssa Day, Meljean Brook, and Lucy Monroe.  Look for it on July 2nd.

The first book from Ann Aguirre‘s (writing as A.A. Aguirre) upcoming Apparatus Infernum series, Bronze Gods, now has a cover.  It will be released on April 30th.

It looks like there was a novella from the Sharie Kohler Moon Chasers series that I totally missed.  Darkest Temptation was released on October 30th.

Still going…Darkness Bred is the second book from Stella Cameron‘s Chimney Rock series, which should be available on May 28th.

Robin D. Owens will release the next book in her Celta Heartmates series, Heart Fortune, on August 6th.

This one is…pink.  Very pink.  Hearts of Shadow is the second book from Kira Brady‘s Deadglass series, which is due out on May 7th.

And finally, the cover has been released for the second book in Bec McMaster‘s London Steampunk series.  Heart of Iron will be out on May 7th.

There were a few more, but they haven’t really been put “out there” yet, so I am holding back a bit.  Which one or ones did you like from this batch?  Any that you can’t wait to get your hands on?

Random Updates…

As I am going through the Series Reading list pages and updating, I am coming across a bit of new info on some upcoming releases.  As you can probably tell, I am only through the first three pages (so A-F), but it still amazes me how much info I can miss.

  • The second book of Jocelynn Drake‘s new Asylum Tales series will be called Dead Man’s Deal, and it will be out next May 7th.
  • This coming January, Lenore Appelhans will release her debut young adult book, Level 2.  Well, Amazon is now listing the second book in the Memory Chronicles series for January 2014, and it will be called…Level 3.  Huh.
  • The second book of Jill Archer‘s new Noon Onyx series, Fiery Edge of Steel, will be released on May 28th.
  • From what I can tell, there will be an e-book only anthology released February 12th called Vampires Gone Wild.  It will feature novellas from Kerrelyn Sparks, Amanda Arista, Pamela Palmer and Kim Falconer, with the Sparks story being from her Love at Stake series.
  • I enjoyed Of Poseidon by Anna Banks, and now the preorder links for book two of the series, Of Triton, are showing a release date of May 28th.  Looking forward to this one.
  • From what I am seeing around, Jennifer Lynn Barnes is starting a new young adult series in January with the release of Nobody.  It is about young people no one ever notices, which makes them the perfect assassins.
  • Some are saying this is stand alone, others are saying it is the first of a series, but Rachel Caine will release a book next July called Prince of Shadows.  It is a retelling of Romeo and Juliet from the point of view of Benvolio and Rosaline.
  • There will be a second book of the Chimney Rock series from Stella CameronDarkness Bred will be out next May 28th.
  • Karina Cooper will have a new Dark Mission novella out next March 5th called Wicked Lies.  It will be followed by another full length book, One for the Wicked, on April 30th.
  • Sarah Crossan‘s second Breathe novel, Resist, will be out October 13th.
  • Fans of Coreene Callahan‘s Dragonfury series will be happy.  Looks like there will be at least three more books in the series.  Fury of Desire, Fury of Obsession, and Fury of Surrender will be released starting next spring.
  • A fourth book from Lauren Dane‘s Bound By Magick series will be out next November.  No word on the title, as yet.
  • Also unnamed is the fourth book from Dianne Duvall‘s Immortal Guardians series, but it has a release date of October 1st.
  • Lexi George will release another Demon Hunting book next February 1st called Demon Hunting in a Dive Bar.  I completely forgot to post the cover, too.  Duh.
  • This one seems to have been on the back-burner for quite a while, but the final book in Kate Elliott‘s Spiritwalker trilogy, Cold Steel, is now showing a release date of June 25th.
  • There will be an anthology featuring Jennifer Estep, Rob Thurman, and Rachel Caine coming out next July 30th called Carniepunk.  I have no clue what series the stories will be coming from, though.
  • And finally, it looks like the ninth book in Jennifer Estep‘s Elemental Assassin series will be called Heart of Venom.  Look for it on August 27th.

Cover Lover – 2 New Titles

Two newbies this time…and like I was whining about in the post below, they are both “Dark” books.  The first one is from author Suzanne Brockmann, and is called Born to Darkness.  Look for it next March.

And the second Dark-titled book is Darkness Bound from Stella Cameron.  It is the first book of her new Chimney Rock series, and is due out on February 28th.

New Series Alert…Court of Angels

Not what I usually read, but for some reason the new series from Stella Cameron has caught my eye.    The Court of Angels books are paranormal romantic suspense, and all three books so far focus on the gifted Millet family.

The first book is Out of Body, released on March 1st.

Born of an ancient family of clairvoyants, Marley Millet finds that her psychic gift is both unsettling and incredibly dangerous. She never wants to “travel” again—but the choice is not hers to make.

After glimpsing the fates of two missing New Orleans jazz singers, Marley knows she has no choice and must speak up before more women disappear. Flinty cop-turned-writer Gray Fisher, who interviewed both chanteuses before they vanished, takes a special interest in Marley’s incredible story—and in Marley.

Scouring the wild clubs of the French Quarter, Marley and Gray make an unlikely and uneasy team. But their determination is matched only by the heat between them…and the evil they have uncovered.

March 30th is the release date for the second book, Out of Mind.

Willow Millet longs to deny her family’s exceptional gifts—paranormal talents known to few, shared by even fewer. Benedict Fortune is one such—a connection that should have strengthened the undeniable bond between him and Willow. But her self-doubt has driven them apart.

Married instead to her business, Willow’s concierge we-can-do-anything service is thriving until it is hit by a string of bizarre and fatal accidents—every victim a client. Now her livelihood depends on two enigmatic socialites and their notoriously decadent parties. In this anything-goes atmosphere, Willow and Ben are thrown together again and their need for each other is as strong as ever, but they are challenged at every turn…

For dark forces are staking Willow—coveting her gift as a means of cheating death…and ruling New Orleans forever.

The final book (so far, that is) will be out on April 27th, and is called Out of Sight.

Psychic master talent Sykes Millet can vanish at will, read minds and control others with hypnosis. What Sykes cannot do is escape his destiny—an ancient curse foretelling the misery his dark beauty may bring to everyone he loves.

Poppy Fortune knows all too well the burden of having paranormal talent. The supernatural world has fractured her entire family—now it’s keeping at bay the one man she wants more than life.

Driven by hatred for the Millets, a killing force has attacked New Orleans. The evil Embran race has no conscience and intends to terrorize the city into submission. Sykes and Poppy must set aside old distrust and use their bonded talents to save their families, themselves…and New Orleans.
