Cover Lover – 3 New Titles

Looks like this is just a quick, drive-by post for today since I only have three new covers to up.  On the plus side, I actually like all three covers, so that is a good thing.  This first one is from the Vamp City series from Pamela PalmerA Kiss of Blood is due out on June 25th.

This second one is from the always prolific Sherrilyn Kenyon.  I didn’t even know there was a fourth book in her Belador series coming out until I saw this cover over at Goodreads.  Rise of the Gryphon is due out on July 30th.

And this final one for today is from Stephanie Tyler and her Eternal Wolf Clan series.  Dire Desires is the final book of the trilogy, due out on July 2nd.

That’s it for this post, but on a side note in Nalini Singh‘s newsletter she gave the heads up that info about the mysterious Psy/Changeling #12 will be revealed on January 31st – time to be determined.  Wow, I am looking forward to that one, for sure.

After getting behind the last week or so, I debated about going back and tracking down what covers I had missed, but it didn’t seem like too many at all.  This batch is a bit on the bigger side, with a couple of good ones.  Devon Monk continues her Allie Beckstrom series with the release of Magic for a Price on November 6th.

This one is from author Caris RoaneGates of Rapture is the 6th book in her Guardians of Ascension series, due out on December 26th.

Hmm, nice.  The cover is out for the second book in Stephanie Tyler‘s Eternal Wolf Clan series, Dire Wants.  This one will be released on November 6th.

Werewolf in Denver is the next book from Vicki Lewis Thompson‘s Wild About You series, which is due out on October 2nd.

And this final one is from author Maurissa Guibord.  I haven’t heard anything about Revel yet, other than that it is Young Adult, and will be released in hardcover on February 12th.

Claudia Gray starts her Evernight spin-off series this week with the release of Balthazar.

Having learned of Skye’s powers and the remarkable effect her blood has on vampires, he plans to use her for his own evil purposes. As they stand together to fight the evil vampire, Balthazar realizes his lonely world could finally be changed by Skye…just as Redgrave realizes that he can destroy Balthazar once and for all by taking her for his own.

This is also the release date for the fourth Evernight book, Afterlife, in MMP.

I am looking forward to this one.  Embrace, the first book of The Violet Eden Chronicles from Jessica Shirvington, has gotten great reviews so far from what I have seen, but I think it is the pretty cover that caught my eye.  I am so easy.

Synopsis…

Violet Eden is dreading her seventeenth birthday dinner. After all, it’s hard to get too excited about the day that marks the anniversary of your mother’s death. The one bright spot is that Lincoln will be there. Sexy, mature and aloof, he is Violet’s idea of perfection. But why does he seem so reluctant to be anything more than a friend?

After he gives her the world’s most incredible kiss – and then abandons her on her front doorstep – Violet is determined to get some answers. But nothing could have prepared her for Lincoln’s explanation: he is Grigori – part angel and part human – and Violet is his eternal partner.

Without warning, Violet’s world is turned upside down. She never believed in God, let alone angels. But there’s no denying the strange changes in her body … and her feelings for Lincoln. Suddenly, she can’t stand to be around him. Luckily, Phoenix, an exiled angel, has come into her life. He’s intense and enigmatic, but at least he never lied to her.

As Violet gets caught up in an ancient battle between dark and light, she must choose her path. The wrong choice could cost not only her life, but her eternity…

Penguin e-Specials

This is me, sighing.  I am so behind the times.  Turns out that Penguin Publishing has something called e-Specials, and several popular paranormal series have entries in it.  I had no clue.  Not sure if everyone else is ahead of me (er, probably), but I decided to list a few that might appeal…

  • Katie MacAlister has a story called Unleashed, and it is part of her Dark Ones series.
  • Red Blooded is a Gods of Midnight e-novella from Deidre Knight.
  • Never actually heard much about these, but Sunny has a story called Mona Lisa Three, and it is part of her Monere series.
  • This one may also be available in a print version anthology, (if I am not completely nuts), but Magic Mourns from Ilona Andrews is also available in the e-special format.
  • From Virginia Kantra comes a Children of the Earth story, called Midsummer Night’s Magic.
  • Wild About You is a new series from Vicki Lewis Thompson, and it features a short called Werewolf in Greenwich Village.
  • I have been looking forward to the new Heather Killough-Walden Lost Angels series, and I believe Always, Angel is a prequel story.
  • Moon Dance is the name of the Mageverse novella from Angela Knight.
  • From the world of Deborah Cooke‘s Dragonfire series comes Harmonia’s Kiss.
  • Eternal Embers is set in the Dragon’s Heat world, written by Tessa Adams.

There were a couple that were unrelated to the Penguin published ones above…

  • Charley Davidson returns in the short For I Have Sinned, written by Darynda Jones.
  • Early Girl Gets the Blood Wolf is a story by Michele Bardsley, part of her Broken Heart series.
  • Alyssa Day will have a Warriors of Poseidon novella coming out in October called Alejandro’s Sorceress, but I can’t seem to find any info about it other than on her official site.
  • and the upcoming Eternal Wolf Clan trilogy from Stephanie Tyler will get a prequel in the form of Dire Warning.  Again, no links available as yet.

I am not quite sure how adding the e-books to the new release pages will go, since there are just so darn many of them, and the suckers are proving slippery to track down with any sort of finesse.  It is sort of hit and miss, actually, unless I just haven’t managed to perfect my technique as yet.  What I will be doing is adding the e-books to the reading lists for any of the series already featured here, like the ones listed above.  Might take a while to get them all added, but should be straight forward enough to find.  It is a start, anyways.

First Look…The Eternal Wolf Clan

Stephanie Tyler (one half of the Syndey Croft writing duo with Larissa Ione) is branching out and starting her own paranormal romance series, called The Eternal Wolf Clan.  The author’s description of the series sounds great…

The full moon is their mistress. They are predators of pleasure and pain. Feared by humans, envied by werewolves, the Dire Wolves are immortal shifters, obeying no laws but their own bestial natures. Once they were many, but now only six remain, a dangerous wolfpack forever on the hunt…

The first book, Dire Needs, will be a March 6th release…

Rifter leads the pack, embracing the lifestyle and ethics of an outlaw biker even as he battles an ancient enemy who has become a new, powerful force. But with his Brother Wolf raging inside him, howling to be unleashed, he needs to satisfy his hungers. And when he meets a drop-dead gorgeous blonde drinking alone in a bar that caters to both human and inhuman, Rifter’s primal instinct is to claim her.

Gwen has her own desires, long unfulfilled. She hopes a passionate night with the leather-clad, Harley-riding biker will ease her suffering. The seizures that have wracked her body her entire life are incurable—and they’re killing her.

But none of that will matter if Rifter can’t stop the growing threat to them all–trappers who are determined to enslave humankind and use the Dire wolves as part of their nefarious plan.

It will be followed by Dire Wants in the winter of 2012, and Dire Desires the following spring.

New Release Dates

Quite a few to share this time around…

  • J.D. Robb‘s next In Death book will be called Celebrity in Death.  It is the 34th title in the series, and should be available on February 1st.
  • On March 6th, Jessa Slade will release her 4th Marked Souls book with the release of Darkness Undone.  A bit of a name change for this one, stepping away from the “in Shadows” of the first three.
  • Stephanie Tyler will debut a new series with the release of Dire Needs on March 6th.  No word on the series name, as yet
  • The third book from the Dark Ink Chronicles from Elle Jasper now has a release date.  Eventide will be available on March 6th.
  • Now or Never is the title of the third book in Michele Bardsley‘s Wizards of Nevermore series.  This one is scheduled for release on March 6th.
  • Yay!  We will get the fourth book of Thea Harrison‘s new Elder Races series next March 6th.  The title is Oracle’s Moon.
  • Nina Bangs returns to her Castle of Dark Dreams series with the release of Wicked Edge, due out next March 6th.
  • I am looking forward to this one.  Nalini Singh‘s Guild Hunter compilation book, Angels’ Flight, is looking like a February 28th release.
  • On February 7th, the 11th book from Yasmine Galenorn‘s Sisters of the Moon series will be coming out.  That one is called Shaded Vision.
  • Hm.  Interesting.  Usually Joey W. Hill‘s books are all “Vampire”, but looks like her next one will be a bit different.  Something About Witches is due out on February 7th.
  • The fourth book from the Ascension series by Caris Roane will be called Born of Ashes.  This one should be available on January 3rd.
  • Adrian Phoenix‘s fifth Maker’s Song book will be called On Midnight Wings, and should be available on January 31st.
  • And finally, the fifth book from Jennifer Estep‘s Elemental Assassin series will be called By A Thread.  It is due out on January 31st.
