Cover Lover – 2 New Titles

I was hoping to find a couple of more covers to go along with this post, but no luck as yet (usually as soon as I make the post, I find a bunch more).  This first one is from Terry Spear, who has always been great about keeping her site updated with new release info and cover art, which is quite rare.  This cover is from her Wolf series, A SEAL Wolf Christmas.

Cover Lover – 6 New Titles

I have gotten all of the monthly new release pages updated and dates double checked right through to the end of 2013.  There have been a couple that shifted around (like Larissa Ione‘s new vampire series book Bound by Night, which will now be released on October 1st rather than July).  In the process of updating, I came across a couple of new covers.

This one reminds me of Lindsay Lohan, which is never a good thing.  Only Lycans Need Apply from Michele Bardsley‘s Broken Heart Vampires series, and it will be released on April 2nd.

Now, this next one doesn’t really look like the finished cover to me, but I can’t find anything that says any different.  The Eternity Cure from Julie Kagawa is due out in hardcover on April 30th.

I was very much surprised by how much I enjoyed Anna Bank‘s Of Poseidon, so I have high hopes for the sequel, Of Triton.  It is due out on May 28th.

The cover is out for the next Indigo Court book from Yasmine Galenorn, Night Vision.  Look for it on July 2nd.

Inked Destiny is the title of the next Jory Strong Inked series book, which should also be released on July 2nd.

And the final one for today is from the Wolf series from Terry SpearSilence of the Wolf is a pretty one, and will unbelievably be #13 in the series.

New Series Alert…

That time again.  This is a big week for some much anticipated new series…and it looks like one of those weeks where you get too many books in to know where to start reading.  Terry Spear starts a new Jaguar shifter series this week with the release of Savage Hunger.  It is nice to see her branching out from her wolf shifter series.

Synopsis…

In the heat of the jungle, jaguars are clawed, dangerous, and hungry for love. With hopes of overcoming night terrors and thanking the man who saved her life, Kathleen McKnight returns to the Amazon. A jaguar at heart, Connor Anderson doesn’t just protect her, but wants to claim her for his own.

The Jaguar Series reading list is HERE.

This second one comes from Jacqueline Carey and is called Dark Currents.  It is book one of the Agent of Hel series.

Synopsis…

Dark Currents is set in a small Midwestern resort town where paranormal tourism is a booming business. Daisy Johanssen, an incubus’ daughter raised by a loving single mom, is the liaison between the eldritch community and mundane authorities.

Most of the time that doesn’t entail anything more challenging than retrieving stolen goods from a puckish pickpocket or tracking down a tourist led astray by a will-o’-the-wisp, but when a young man drowns in an apparent accident that’s not what it seems, Daisy’s job turns deadly earnest.

Agent of Hel reading list is HERE.

This one takes the award for most disturbing cover-model outfit on a male.  Lord, I still keep staring at that shirt…thing.  Anyways, Revelation is the first book of The Seven Signs series from Erica Hayes.

Synopsis…

Blind faith is for fools. That’s what Dr. Morgan Sterling believes. And she’s going to prove it by curing the zombie plague ravaging her city’s slums. She’s certain it’s not a sign of the End of Days, but a nasty disease — until an angel appears in her morgue in a flash of glory.

Luniel is not just a fallen angel. He’s a powerful warrior sworn to fight evil in hopes of a chance at redemption. He’s after the demon princes who are stealing the seven vials of holy wrath which, when perverted, will unleash eternal hell on earth.

To stop the plague, Luniel needs Morgan’s help, and her faith. But Morgan believes science is their salvation. If the zombie plague is a demonic curse — and if Luniel is true — he’ll have to prove it. Even if he loses his heart to true love or his soul to Hell…

The Seven Signs reading list is HERE.

Oddly enough, both books one and two of the Sunwalker Saga are being released this week.  Previously released in e-format, Shia MacLeod‘s Kissed by Darkness and Kissed by Fire make their print debuts tomorrow.

Synopsis…

Danger is always on the menu for Morgan Bailey, a sexy and street-smart bounty hunter, who prowls the dark underworld of Portland, Oregon hunting creatures of the night. Morgan’s never met a vampire she couldn’t dust or a demon she couldn’t kill until she’s hired to destroy a new kind of mystical threat: the Sunwalker.

A powerful immortal once believed myth, the Sunwalker carries with him an ancient secret which, if left unchecked, will destroy Morgan’s world. Pursued by a passionate Templar Knight and the target of the local vampire clans, an ancient power is awakened within her, unlike anything she’s ever known. Morgan must uncover the truth behind her mission and about herself, before the Darkness lurking inside swallows her whole.

The Sunwalker Saga reading list is HERE.

There are a couple of new Young Adults hitting the shelves, as well.  First off is the much anticipated (by me, anyways) Poison Princess, the first book of the Arcana Chronicles series by Kresley Cole.

Synopsis…

Poison Princess centers on 16-year-old Evangeline “Evie” Greene, a privileged teenager from Louisiana. When an apocalyptic event decimates her hometown, killing everyone she loves, Evie realizes the hallucinations she’d been having for the past year were actually visions of the future — and they’re still happening. Fighting for her life and desperate for answers, she must turn to her wrong-side-of-the-bayou classmate: Jack Deveaux. As Jack and Evie race to find the source of her visions, they meet others who have gotten the same call. An ancient prophecy is being played out, and Evie is not the only one with special powers. A group of teens have been chosen to re-enact the ultimate battle between good and evil. But it’s not always clear who is on which side.

The Arcana Chronicles page is HERE.

I loved the cover for this one right from the start.  Sarah Crossan‘s Breathe, the first book of the Breathe series, will be released tomorrow.

Synopsis…

Inhale. Exhale. Breathe. Breathe. Breathe . . .

The world is dead.
The survivors live under the protection of Breathe, the corporation that found a way to manufacture oxygen-rich air.

ALINA
has been stealing for a long time. She’s a little jittery, but not terrified. All she knows is that she’s never been caught before. If she’s careful, it’ll be easy. If she’s careful.

QUINN
should be worried about Alina and a bit afraid for himself, too, but even though this is dangerous, it’s also the most interesting thing to happen to him in ages. It isn’t every day that the girl of your dreams asks you to rescue her.

BEA
wants to tell him that none of this is fair; they’d planned a trip together, the two of them, and she’d hoped he’d discover her out here, not another girl.

And as they walk into the Outlands with two days’ worth of oxygen in their tanks, everything they believe will be shattered. Will they be able to make it back? Will they want to?

The Breathe reading list is HERE.

And finally, this last one comes from Darynda Jones.  The popular author of the Charley Davidson series is branching out to young adult with the release of Death and the Girl Next Door.  It is the first book of the Darklight series.

Synopsis…

Things get turned upside down for sophomore Lorelei MacAlister when the Angel of Death starts high school in her small town. What she doesn’t know is that she has been slated to die. It’s simply her time. And Death has been sent to do the deed. But when he touches her, when he peers into her eyes and reaches into her heart, he realizes she is more than what he was led to believe, and he disobeys his orders. He brings her back from the brink of death when he was supposed to push her into it. Because of this, he gets trapped on this plane. And that’s when all hell breaks loose. Literally.

The Darklight reading list can be found HERE.

Ok.  Is everyone going to be as busy as me trying to cram in all of the new books this week?  I just got last week’s load, so I am in book horder heaven.  Or hell, depending on how you look at it.

Cover Lover – 4 New Titles

Cue evil laughter…

This is me, cackling madly.  Anyone who saw the post directly below this one (pick of the week) has already been bored by my love of Jennifer L. Armentrout‘s Lux series (and the Sentinel series, but that is a story for another day).  So, you can imagine my joy when I found the cover for her third book in the series, Opal.  And it isn’t even that long of a wait for it, since it is due out on December 11th.

*Edit – Amber has pointed out that the author has stated that this is not the official cover, even though I did find it at Amazon.com.  I am going to keep it posted just for the pretty, but things could be a changin’.

Moving on, Amazon also upped the cover for Hot Blooded, the second book from Amanda Carlson‘s Jessica McClain series.  This one is due out on April 23rd.

I am continuing my love affair with white covers.  This time it is from Katie Reus and her Moon Shifters series.  Mating Instinct will be released on March 5th.

And this final one is from author Terry Spear and her Wolf Shifter series.  A Highland Werewolf Wedding will be released sometime next year.

Cover Lover – 4 New Titles

Hmm, I have been hoping for a really, really good cover to post for the last month or so, since this last while has been a bit iffy.  Some have been ok, some cheesy, and some downright ass-ugly.  Pretty much what I have found this go round, actually.

I actually don’t mind this first one…pretty, but sort of a flashback to the old historical romance bodice-rippers of yore (Lord, did I just yore in a sentence?!?).  Er, yeah, so this is Winterblaze from Kristen Callihan‘s Darkest London series, which is due out on February 26th.

I am not quite sure about this one.   I don’t hate it, but it seems to be going for the same vibe as Winterblaze (above), but doesn’t quite pull it off.  I am not sure if it is the grainy effect, or the bad font for the title, but Gilded, the second book from Karina Cooper‘s St. Croix Chronicles, isn’t a great cover.  It will be hitting the shelves on December 26th.

This one is Jaguar Fever, the second book from Terry Spear‘s new Jaguar series.  I actually don’t mind this one, since the photoshopping is well done and everything is clear and easy to read.  Pretty much standard, with intense shirtless dude, smoke and animal in the background, but it works unlike the next one…

Yep, saved this one for last.  Good lord, this is so very, very wrong.  I think that Pamela Palmer‘s A Love Untamed holds the distinction being the only book whose cover model scares me.  There’s intense, and then there’s serial killer mug shot scary.  I stopped reading this series a while back, and this one won’t make me want to pick it up again.  This Feral Warriors novel will be released on December 26th.

Random Updates…

This is a dead release week, so while yesterday had no New Series post, today also doesn’t have a pick of the week.  Meh, messing with my schedule like that.  So, I thought I would do a random update, instead.

  • Looks like the second book of Karina Cooper‘s new St. Croix Chronicles series, Gilded, will be released on December 26th.
  • The 4th book from Kristina Douglas‘ The Fallen series, called The Rebel, will be released next June.
  • Kresley Cole‘s publisher, Simon and Schuster, released the title of the next IAD book.  I would have sworn that it would have been Lanthe’s turn, but looks like the Lykae jumped the gun.  Uillieam’s book will be called MacRieve, and it will be released in hardcover on May 14th.
  • Nalini Singh‘s newsletter gave up the goods on the upcoming Psy/Changeling compilation book coming March 5th.  Wild Invitation will have to previously released novellas featuring Zach and Annie and Nate and Tamsyn, and two new stories.  The new ones will be about Cooper and Grace (Yes!) and…Walker and Lara.  Nice.  I was hoping to get more about Walker and Lara.  Can’t wait.
  • Forever, the second book from the World of the Nightwalkers series by Jacquelyn Frank, will be released on March 26th.
  • The title of the next Pride book from Shelly Laurenston will be Wolf with Benefits, and it is listed as a march 26th release.
  • Terry Spear will have at least two new releases next year – Highland Wolf Wedding will be out on May 7th, and Jaguar Fever will be out on August 6th.
  • I am still looking for info on the February release listed for Gena Showalter, Magic at Midnight.  I suspect, however, that it is something like the recent trade-paperback listings for Ilona Andrews and Patricia Briggs – a bundling of a couple of previously released books.  Just a hunch, though.

Cover Lover – 5 New Titles

This group is a little bit of a mixed bag when it comes to covers.  This first one is a beauty, but then all of the covers for Jennifer Estep‘s Elemental Assassin series are.  I have thought they were all great, even the ones for the e-novellas, and the one for August 21st’s Widow’s Web is no exception.

I nabbed this next one from All Things Urban FantasyTerry Spear continues her Wolf shifter series with the release of A Howl for a Highlander next February 1st.

This one is from Melissa MayhueWarrior Reborn is the second book in her Warriors series, and the tenth book in her Daughters of the Glen series, if that makes any sense.  It will be released on October 30th.

I have been trying to find this one for a while now.  Tricia Rayburn‘s Dark Water, part of her Sirens young adult series, will be released in hardcover on July 10th.

This final one is…tricky.  I sort of like it, and yet part of me finds something odd about it the longer I look at it.  Dark Light of Day is the first book from Jill Archer‘s upcoming Noon Onyx series, and it will be released on September 25th.

Cover Lover – 11 New Titles

My recent updating led to a few new covers.  Blaze, the second book in the Phoenix Rising series from Joan Swan, will be released on September 25th.

The cover came out last week for the next Anna Strong book from Jeanne C. Stein, called Hunted.  This one should be out on August 28th.

Where There’s A Will, the next one from Karen Kelley, will be released on September 1st.

This next one is from author Tawny TaylorDarkest Desire is due out August 28th.

I saw this one over at Goodreads.  Heaven, the third book from Alexandra Adornetto‘s Halo series, is due out on August 21st.

Love on the Run, the fourth bo0k in Katharine Kerr‘s Nola O’Grady series, is due out on August 7th.

The cover for the next book in the Moon Shifter series from Katie Reus, Primal Possession, is now out.  This one is due out on September 4th.

Terry Spear is starting up a new series featuring Jaguar Shifters.  The first book, Savage Hunger, will be out on October 1st.

These last three are all from the same author.  Saranna DeWylde will be releasing three titles between this year and next year in her 10 Days series.  The first one is called How to Lose a Demon in 10 Days, and it should be out on August 28th.

The second book, How to Marry a Warlock in 10 Days, will be out on September 25th.

And they will be followed by How to Seduce an Angel in 10 Days early in 2013.

Release Info…

I have a scratched up a few more to add to the new release pages…

  • Ally Condie‘s third book from her Matched trilogy now has a title.  Reached will be released in hardcover on November 13th.
  • December 4th will see the release of Knight Awakened, the first book in a new series from Coreene Callahan.  Circle of Seven will be a paranormal historical series featuring an elite band of assassins from a magical order.
  • Sidney Ayers oft-delayed next book, Demon to Die For, is now scheduled for a February 2013 release.
  • Although she is starting a Jaguar shifter series this year, Terry Spear will also be returning to her Wolf series with the release of A Howl for a Highlander next February.
  • The second book for Elisabeth Staab will be called Prince of Power, and is scheduled for release next January.
  • Next February will also see the release of another Cat Star Chronicles book from Cheryl Brooks, this one called Wildcat.
  • And it looks like there might be a bit of a delay on the Kresley Cole front.  Shadow’s Claim, according to the publisher’s site, will not be released until December instead of September, as originally thought.  Poison Princess is still on track for October, however.

This and That

Things have been a bit on the quiet side around here for a few days.  Between working extra and just a info lull, I didn’t have much to post.  The downside is that things are not as up to date as I would like.  So, tomorrow is updating day.   Yep.  I plan on one whole day of nothing but blogging.  Not everyone’s idea of fun, but I can’t wait.  Love it.  The plan is to add the almost 100 new book release dates I have found, update the covers and blurbs, and add something like 20 new authors to the the Series Reading Lists pages.  And, if there is time, I have to update the Mythos Academy Character Guide to include the info from the last book, Kiss of Frost.

I did find a couple of little tidbits on my hunt for new info, however.

  • Shea Berkley will have two more Keepers of Life books coming out.  The Lost Prince will be released this coming August, and The Bastard King will follow in August of 2013.
  • March 2013 will see the release of the third Kristen Callihan Darkest London book, this one called Winterblaze.
  • Megan Crewe‘s second Fallen World book will be called The Lives We Lost, and should be available next January.
  • For the followers of Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl‘s Caster Chronicles, the title of the fourth book has now been revealed.  Beautiful Redemption will be released on October 23rd.
  • The fourth (and supposedly final) The Edge book from Ilona Andrews will be called Steel’s Edge.  Look for it on November 27th.
  • Tes Hilaire‘s second Paladin Warriors book will be called Deliver Me From Temptation.  It is due out on December 4th.
  • A Savage Hunger is the title of the first book in a new jaguar shifter series from Terry Spear, and it should be available on October 1st.
