Spotlight on Ward and Frost…

I found a bit of news over at Babbling About Books, and decided to share.  Seems like J.R. Ward has posted the cover blurb for Lover at Last, and a small excerpt in celebration of not losing some crucial pages she had been working on.  Been waiting to get my hands on this…

Qhuinn, son of no one, is used to being on his own. Disavowed from his bloodline, shunned by the aristocracy, he has finally found an identity as one of the most brutal fighters in the war against the Lessening Society. But his life is not complete. Even as the prospect of having a family of his own seems to be within reach, he is empty on the inside, his heart given to another….

Blay, after years of unrequited love, has moved on from his feelings for Qhuinn. And it’s about time: The male has found his perfect match in a Chosen female, and they are going to have a young- just as Qhuinn has always wanted for himself. It’s hard to see the new couple together, but building your life around a pipe dream is just a heartbreak waiting to happen. As he’s learned firsthand.

Fate seems to have taken these vampire soldiers in different directions… but as the battle over the race’s throne intensifies, and new players on the scene in Caldwell create mortal danger for the Brotherhood, Qhuinn finally learns the true definition of courage, and two hearts who are meant to be together… finally become one.

And a little bit of teaser goodness for this Thursday…

Qhuinn followed, bringing up the rear in case anyone decided to pull a hi-how’re-ya-

From out of thin air, Blay appeared, the male suited up in leather, and as heavily armed as the rest of them.  Qhuinn’s feet slowed, then stopped in the snow, mostly because he didn’t want to trip and fall like an a**hole.  God, that was one grim motherf**ker, he thought as Blay started walking forward. Was there some trouble in paradise?  Even though there was no eye contact, Qhuinn felt compelled to say something. “What’s…”  He didn’t finish the “doing” part of the sentence. Why bother? The guy just stalked past him like he wasn’t there.

“I’m great,” Qhuinn muttered under his breath as he resumed trudging through the snow. “Doin’ awesome, thanks for asking- oh, you having probs with Saxton? Really? How’d you like to go out and get a drink and talk about it? Yeah? Perfect. I’ll be your after dinner mint-”

Yep.  Next up is the blurb for the fiery one himself, Vlad.  Twice Tempted by Jeaniene Frost just needs a cover now to make me happy.  That and, you know, arriving in my mailbox now.

Dating the Prince of Darkness has its challenges . . .

Leila’s psychic abilities have been failing her, and now she isn’t sure what the future holds. If that weren’t enough, her lover Vlad has been acting distant. Though Leila is a mere mortal, she’s also a modern woman who refuses to accept the cold shoulder treatment forever–especially from the darkly handsome vampire who still won’t admit that he loves her . . .

Like choosing between eternal love and a loveless eternity . . .

Soon circumstances send Leila back to the carnival circuit, where tragedy strikes. And when she finds herself in the crosshairs of a killer who may be closer than she realizes, Leila must decide who to trust– the fiery vampire who arouses her passions like no other or the tortured knight who longs to be more than a friend? With danger stalking her every step of the way, all it takes is one wrong move to damn her for eternity . . .

Both of these are due out on March 26th.  Wow, big day.  Which one are you most excited for?  My take on both of them is so different and I enjoy them in different ways, but I will be devouring Twice Tempted the moment it is in my hot little hands.

I will definitely be getting both of these books, but J.R.’s will be first for me. I can’t wait for this book!! Looking forward to Vlad’s as well. I wish we could have gotten a book from his POV though. I love his character 🙂

It is so not fair – two biggies one day, and then you have all the guilt when you choose. And if you are like me, you keep peaking over at the one you didn’t pick first. Meh.

  2. Lydia says:

I’m looking forward to both books; but Lover at Last will be the first thing I grab from the UPS guy. Good thing I’m off on tuesdays or I’d probably call in sick.

    • kaleigha says:

I think you have the right idea, Jes. I am off both days, too, but I imagine I will have to wait another week for my copies to arrive in the mail. Makes the wait even worse when everyone else has already gotten their copies.

Indeed, big day for new books. Both books i can’t wait to read and i’m not sure which one will be the first.. Hard choice ! I think i’ll read Twice Tempted first.

    • kaleigha says:

Me, too. I guess I should say I hope to read Vlad first, but it will depend on my mood and when they arrive. So hard to say with me.

I’m looking forward to reading both of these as well as Wolf with Benefits (Pride #8) by Shelly Laurenston, which also releases the same day. I had not seen these blurbs yet, so thanks for sharing!

    • kaleigha says:

I forgot that Wolf was out on the same day, too. Three totally different books to choose from, so looks like something for everyone. and it makes it even harder to pick which one to read first.

HOLY YUMMY!!!! I have been waiting for Qhuinn and Blay’s story for what seems like forever so I cannot wait to read that one!! However, I la-la-love CAT & BONES and now the Vlad series so I will be reading that the minute I get it!!!! Either way it will be a great 2-3 days of reading those two books!!!!!!!!!!!
