Cover Lover – Immortal

October 7th is the release date for the 6th and final book from J.R. Ward‘s Fallen Angels series, Immortal. I was expecting 7 books, because of there being 7 deadly sins and all, but looks like I was wrong. Maybe when this series is over, I can finally pull a marathon and read them all.

immortalWhat is your take on the Fallen Angels? How does it stack up to the Black Dagger Brotherhood for you?

I really like it as much as BDB. Even though the plot is very different, I think if you like one series that you would like the other. It’s the same setting and writing style, and even a few peaks at the Brothers scattered throughout.

I do love it when you get a bit of a crossover on storylines. Like when Anna and Charles from Alpha and Omega show up in Mercy Thompson, things like that.

BDB is my all time favorite!! I love the Fallen Angels though. And, I did think that there would be 7 books as well. HOWEVER, at Ward’s Cinci book signing last year she was asked about a new series:

    Q: About the new series?
A: JR won’t say anything about that.

So, we’ll just have to wait and see!!!

    p.s. I HATE WAITING!!! LOL!!

A new series would be interesting. Veeerrry interesting. I wonder if she would step outside the BDB/Angels world, or maybe do another offshoot, like the Shadows?

It’s the last book/ I was sure she had said 7. Man I like this series way better than the BDB. On the other hand, I want to see some hea for Jim so I’m happy.

    • kaleigha says:

Yep, I swore I heard 7, too, somewhere along the way. Glad to know I am not alone! I do hope they re-release the first few in hardcover, for the matching thing.

  4. Lidy says:

I also thought it was supposed to be seven books. Besides, if she’s planning to give Jim and that dead girl and Adrian a book, she’d write at least more two… because I’m thinking this “Immortal” features Eddie as hero.

      • Lidy says:

A spin-off featuring Devina and Lash as a happy married couple? 😀

I wish I cared for the Angels as I do for the brothers. You know, waiting like crazy for the next book. Instead, I just read them – no built anticipation, nothing.

But, now, what about the XOps? Not a paranormal romance series, at least not featuring vamps and angels/demons. Maybe werewolves. Word has it that Ward has ideas for a third series.

I’m a little behind on the Fallen Angels. When Rapture was released in hardcover I decided to wait till I could get it in paperback, then kind of forgot about it. Having said that, I do enjoy them and plan to finish them…some day.
I wasn’t aware that Ward was planning a new series. Now I’m wondering if it will be in the Caldwell universe. Kaleigha, I agree, I’d love for her to write about the Shadows. Actually, I’d much prefer to read about Trez and iAm than Xcor and his BoB’s

I originally liked the Bastards, but I think Layla annoyed me enough that it rubbed off onto Xcor, which then rubbed off onto the Bastards. I wasn’t a huge fan in Lover at Last, but I do still think that…uh…Xcor’s second in charge dude…is No’one’s brother.
