Reader Question…

question markTina Folker (hey Tina) had a question I couldn’t help with, so we once again take it to the experts. Tina was wondering if there are any authors who ever do signings in Australia, or any author conventions? Also, Tina was hoping to put together a list of some good Australian paranormal/romance authors, if you can think of any.

Can you think of any authors who tour to Australia for signings and the like, and what are your favorite Australian authors?

  1. Debbie @ ARRA Inc says:

    Hi Tina

Over the past few years there have been a number of authors who have done signings in Australia – both local and international authors. ARRA (the Australian Romance Readers Association) have hosted Sherrilyn Kenyon and MaryJanice Davidson in 2009, Nalini Singh and Cindy Gerard in 2011, Rachel Vincent and Kristan Higgins in 2013. We’ve also held group signing events each year from 2010, each featuring 50 or more authors. Last year Sylvia Day and Julia London both visited Australia and did events for us while they were here.

We are hosting a signing in Sydney in August this year that will feature about 80 romance authors (including international guests Cherry Adair, Marie Force, Maisey Yates, Sarah Wendell, Jackie Ashenden, Louisa George, Barbara DeLeo, Dani Collins and Sue MacKay).

We’re holding our 4th romance readers convention in Canberra in March next year – featuring Helene Young, Sylvia Day and Victoria Dahl – and we will be holding a signing in conjunction with that where we expect to have 90 or more romance authors.

Stephanie Laurens would be my best bet, since she lives in Australia and is a member of the RWA (of Australia) and they regularly do signing and events in Sydney. I also know that Sherrilyn Kenyon had toured in Australia in the past, but with her busy tour schedule for the US she’s harder to get a hold of.

    Hope that helps, Tina. ๐Ÿ™‚

I can think of only two authors but they are both great.
Bec McMaster writes steampunk (London Steampunk series).
Jane Cousins writes witty PNR (Southern Sanctuary series) and contemporary mistery (By the Numbers series).
Nalini Singh is from New Zealand and I am sure she does signings in Australia.

Eden Summers is an excellent author and she attends numerous signings, since she lives in Australia. She is great to her readers; she’s kind, friendly, holds many giveaways, and is fun to talk with. You can find her on Amazon, and on Facebook.

Anne Bishop will be in Sydney for a signing on 24 April! I’m so excited to meet her. ๐Ÿ˜€
Otherwise as above, follow the ARRA.

To everyone I would like to thank you very very much. It has been really helpful and I will be checking it all out.
