Cover Lover – 6 New Titles

This is the first cover lover post in a long time, I think maybe even the first one this year. There isn’t a lot going on for this post, but here goes.

Paige Tyler recently started her new SWAT series, and it looks like the second book will be called Wolf Trouble. It will be released on August 4th.

Cover two is from Melissa F. Olson‘s new Old World series. The first book will be called Boundary Crossed, and it is due out on May 1st.

boundary crossedAfter her twin sister’s brutal death, former US Army Sergeant Allison “Lex” Luther vowed to protect her niece, Charlie, from every possible danger. Then when two vampires attempted to kidnap the child, it quickly turned into a fight to the death—Lex’s death, that is.

Lex wakes up to two shocking discoveries: she has somehow survived the fight; and baby Charlie is a “null,” gifted with the ability to weaken supernatural forces…and a target for evil creatures who want to control that power. Determined to guarantee a safe future for Charlie, Lex makes a deal with the local coven. She sets out with the dashing—and undead—Detective Quinn to track down who’s responsible for the kidnapping, sharpening her magic skills along the way. But the closer she gets to the truth, the more dangerous her powers become, threatening to destroy everything—including herself.

Ann Aguirre‘s Breakout, the next book in the Dred Chronicles, will be released this September.

breakoutThe prison ship Perdition has become a post-battle charnel house with only a handful of Dred’s soldiers still standing and now being hunted by Silence’s trained tongueless assassins. Forging an uneasy alliance with mercenary commander Vost — their only chance at escape — the Dread Queen will do whatever it takes to end her life sentence on Perdition and keep the survivors alive long enough to cobble together a transport capable of getting them off station.

If Dred and her crew can win the deadly game of cat and mouse, the payoff is not only life but freedom — a prize sweeter than their wildest dreams. Yet the sadistic Silence would rather destroy Perdition than let a single soul slip from her grasp…

May Behre continues her Tidewater series with the release of Energized on August 4th.

I’ll be picking up Garden of Dreams and Desires and Breakout.

When Ann Aguirre revealed the cover and blurb for Breakout on her Facebook page she mentioned she’s taking a break from writing SF as she has other projects. That’s really too bad because I love her writing and her SF world. Breakout is the last book in the trilogy. Book #2, Havoc was one of my favorite books of last year. Let me tell you, the title is perfect because it’s chaos from the first sentence to the last and it is so good. So good.

Kristen Painter always gets awesome covers. I know authors often have little to no control over them so may she always be so lucky. The House of Comarré series has some of my favorite covers ever. It was actually my first urban fantasy series and the gorgeous covers are what grabbed my attention!
