Updates and New Series Alerts…

Seeing the Burned pushback made me decide it was time to update the new release pages again, so all of the dates are current as of today (as listed by Amazon). There were a couple of other push-backs of note, too…

  • Darynda Jones’ The Dirt on Ninth Grave – from October 2015 to January 5th, 2016
  • C.L. Wilson’s the Sea King – from July 2015 to July 2016

Anyways, on to the one new series starting up this week. It is a young adult title from Jodi Meadows called The Orphan Queen. It is the first book of The Orphan Queen series.

the orphan queenSynopsis…

Wilhelmina has a hundred identities.

She is a princess. When the Indigo Kingdom conquered her homeland, Wilhelmina and other orphaned children of nobility were taken to Skyvale, the Indigo Kingdom’s capital. Ten years later, they are the Ospreys, experts at stealth and theft. With them, Wilhelmina means to take back her throne.

She is a spy. Wil and her best friend, Melanie, infiltrate Skyvale Palace to study their foes. They assume the identities of nobles from a wraith-fallen kingdom, but enemies fill the palace, and Melanie’s behavior grows suspicious. With Osprey missions becoming increasingly dangerous and their leader more unstable, Wil can’t trust anyone.

She is a threat. Wraith is the toxic by-product of magic, and for a century using magic has been forbidden. Still the wraith pours across the continent, reshaping the land and animals into fresh horrors. Soon it will reach the Indigo Kingdom. Wilhelmina’s magic might be the key to stopping the wraith, but if the vigilante Black Knife discovers Wil’s magic, she will vanish like all the others.

Oh it makes me so sad about Sea King!! That really surprises me, about Cl Wilson. I was so excited for it too. Although it could be a publishing issue too. Thanks for the heads up though.

oh really? I guess I hadn’t paid that much attention then. My bad. This keeps happening more frequently, and there are a couple books that have had delays for over two years and still don’t know when they actually be released. Its pretty annoying especially when you know the book is ready to be released its just publisher or author issues.

I think, if I remember correctly, the Winter King was over two years, too. Like Moning’s Burned. It is a bummer when it is one book, but even harder when it happens for a few books in a row. You get out of the rhythm of the series.

Its not paranormal but a newish author duo…mystery writer… over 2 yrs since last book.previous was 4 yrs… if you make a living writing shouldn’t you write faster? My patience is about over. One a yr is bad enough but anything longer is making me rethink keeping track of certain authors.
C.l. wilson is a prime example… loved her epic series …with qeeen of souls as last bk. But have given her a pass since then because her books seem to always be delayed

I think that the record goes to one that I don’t read, though – George R.R. Martin. I have heard that a lot of people are getting tired of waiting for his next Song of Fire and Ice book, with no end in sight.

      • cheryl says:

oh, boy…. I heard that author takes years and years to get the next book out and he is aging as well… so the next one may never get released. I know I am getting old when authors I have followed forever and a day have either retired or passed away. which is darn sad.
