Cover Lover – Marked in Flesh

I am pretty sure that Marked in Flesh by Anne Bishop is at the top of a lot of people’s most anticipated reads for next year, but books don’t actually seem real to me until I get my eyeballs on the cover. Needless to say, I was excited to see that Goodreads had upped the cover for this one, and even more excited that it still matches the previous books. Beauty!

marked in fleshFor centuries, the Others and humans have lived side by side in uneasy peace. But when humankind oversteps its bounds, the Others will have to decide how much humanity they’re willing to tolerate—both within themselves and within their community…

Since the Others allied themselves with the cassandra sangue, the fragile yet powerful human blood prophets who were being exploited by their own kind, the delicate dynamic between humans and Others changed. Some, like Simon Wolfgard, wolf shifter and leader of the Lakeside Courtyard, and blood prophet Meg Corbyn, see the new, closer companionship as beneficial—both personally and practically.

But not everyone is convinced. A group of radical humans is seeking to usurp land through a series of violent attacks on the Others. What they don’t realize is that there are older and more dangerous forces than shifters and vampires protecting the land that belongs to the Others—and those forces are willing to do whatever is necessary to protect what is theirs…

I love me these ones, and when a great book has a great cover it is even better. Let the countdown begin.

As much as I love this series…I don’t think I can do a re-read for awhile. I can almost quote the first one by heart. Sigh…. so long away. Can you guess I have re-read the first 3 books at least 3 x and actually the first one more than that. Sad habit that, so good tho.

I read the first three twice each, and I am thinking I will probably do a quick skim of the third one before I dive into this one.

I LOVE THIS SERIES!!! Thanks for sharing. I had not seen the latest cover yet. 🙂 The covers really do the books justice. They are very well designed. Can’t wait for this book.

I remember thinking “Why is August soooo far away”, too. But March is going to be another monster month, just like this past one was.
