From the Author Pages

I try and do an update of the author pages every week, but sometimes there isn’t enough info to bother doing a post about. I figured today there was a bit to report on…

  • Cassandra Clare will release the print version of her serialized Simon Lewis-centric Tales From the Shadowhunter Academy on November 15th.
  • The blurb for the fourth and final Night Prince book from Jeaniene Frost, Into the Fire, has been released. The book will be out on October 25th.

In the wrong hands, love can be a deadly weapon.

For nearly six hundred years, Vlad Tepesh cared for nothing, so he had nothing to lose. His brutal reputation ensured that all but the most foolhardy stayed away. Now falling in love with Leila has put him at the mercy of his passions. And one adversary has found a devastating way to use Vlad’s new bride against him.

A powerful spell links Leila to the necromancer Mircea. If he suffers or dies, so does she. Magic is forbidden to vampires, so Vlad and Leila enlist an unlikely guide as they search for a way to break the spell. But an ancient enemy lies in wait, capable of turning Vlad and Leila’s closest friends against them…and finally tearing the lovers apart forever.

  • Oh, and I started a character guide for the In Death series by J.D. Robb. Of course, I only have the info for the first book (Naked in Death) added as yet, but I will be updating it book-by-book as I read them. It can be found HERE.
  • This one is exciting…Kresley Cole, Gena Showalter, and Larissa Ione will team up for an anthology called Blood Red Kiss, which has a release date of September 20th. Larissa’s contribution will be a novella from her MoonBound Clan Vampires series, and Kresley’s story will be an updated and revised re-release of The Warlord Wants Forever. But…but..holy crap! Gena’s story will be from her Alien Huntress series, and it will finally be Dallas’s story. I am a happy, happy girl.

blood red kissForsaken by Night

An exiled warrior…

Lobo, one of the most powerful vampire skinwalkers to ever exist, has been in exile for decades following a violation that got him booted from MoonBound Clan. He’s lived a life of loneliness, his bleak existence made bearable only by the friendship of a wolf he saved many years ago.

A vampire stuck in the wrong body…

Tehya has spent the last twelve years as a wolf, unable to turn herself back into a vampire after a shift gone wrong. She formed a bond with Lobo, but unable to tell him who she really is, she has been reduced to being his pet. Woof.

A nearly fatal gunshot…

Changes everything. Suddenly, Lobo must do the forbidden to sneak inside MoonBound and get his beloved wolf the care she needs to survive. But Tehya shocks everyone, even herself, when she wakes up in the vampire body she hasn’t seen in over a decade. She and Lobo explore their new relationship, their powerful bond becoming even stronger. But her transformation comes at a price…a price that might cost Lobo his life…

Dark Swan

An experiment gone horribly wrong

Lilica Swan is neither human nor otherworlder. One of three girls created in a lab, she’s the best—and worst—of both. When a vision of the future shows her eldest sister being gunned down, she’s determined to save the girl…even if it means killing the man destined to pull the trigger.

A powerful and seductive hybrid who won’t be deterred

Alien Investigation and Removal superagent Dallas Gutierrez is both human and alien himself. His mission? To destroy an evil alien queen who can turn humans into sex-zombies. When the queen’s sister is captured, he decides to use the unusual beauty as bait…but he is unprepared for the blistering surge of desire only Lilica can elicit.

An insatiable need they cannot deny

Dallas is caught between duty and desire and knows choosing one will end the other. Can he betray the woman who now holds his heart in her hands?

Can I just say how long I (and ok, everyone else), has been waiting for Dallas’s story? He was the most interesting of characters right from the start, and for me the series would never, ever be complete without his story. I don’t know if this is print or e-book only, but I do know I will be first in line to get my copy.

    Hi!
I’ve just checked the Character Guide of the In death series. As a fan of the series, and up to date with it, I can say… you’re in for a treat! The characters have evolved so much!!! I had almost forgotten where they started. Thank you sooooo much for your work.

I just saw the character guide too. And I completely second Maria. So many vital names yet to come. I am loving seeing you discover the magic of Eve and Roarke and their motley crew.

Thanks, guys. I am still toying with a “story so far” type of brief summary for each book, but I need to decide now if I am going to do it, and not when I am too far down the line to go back and do a re-read. The only thing stopping me is that I blow at summarizing.

Gorgeous cover on the Blood Red Kiss. And yes, count me in on pre-order for Dallas’s book. I was hoping for a full length novel, but I’ll take what I can get,

At the same time, I am also a little upset with Kresley Cole’s revamp (hehehe, getit…) of Warlord Wants Forever. Christine Warren did the same with her Others series. Unless you change the story completely, I don’t think it’s fair to make me pay for an “updated and revised” version that is mostly the same story with few extra scenes here or there.

Yeah, I was a bit meh on the Kresley Cole addition, too. Two new stories, and then a repeat? Seems weird. And disappointing. There are so, so many IAD characters that could use a novella, a rehash seems like a waste of an opportunity.
