Damien and Sari. Their union became pivotal in Irin history. But to understand their ending, you must go back to the beginning. A young singer and a hardened warrior meet and mate, but their life is torn apart by violence, betrayal, and grief.

Yet no matter how much pain and anger stain their lives, bonds in the Irin race cannot be abandoned. Damien and Sari will never truly leave each other, because those who are destined cannot be ignored.

The Staff and the Blade is a novel in four parts. It is the fourth book in the Irin Chronicles.

This second one is from Sharon Shinn. Unquiet Land is part of the Elemental Blessings series, and it will be released on November 1st.

unquiet landLeah Frothen has returned home to rebuild the life she’s avoided for years. But she can scarcely catch her breath before she is summoned to meet with the regent, Darien Serlast, the man who made her a spy. Leah is reluctant to take on a new assignment, but Darien has dangled the perfect lure to draw her in…

Leah finds she enjoys the challenges of opening a shop catering to foreign visitors, especially since it affords her the opportunity to get to know Mally, the child she abandoned five years ago. Leah is simultaneously thrilled, terrified, hopeful, moved, and almost undone as she slowly attempts to become part of her daughter’s life.

But when the regent asks her to spy on ambassadors from a visiting nation, she develops a dangerous friendship with a foreign woman and finds herself falling in love with a man from her past. Soon Leah learns that everyone—her regent, her lover, and even her daughter—have secrets that could save the nation, but might very well break her heart.

Lets look at Susan Dennard‘s next book, Windwitch, which has a release date of January 31st. It is the second book in her young adult fantasy series, The Witchlands.

Empire of Storms, the fifth book of Sarah J. Maas‘s young adult Throne of Glass series, will be released on September 16th.

empire of stormsThe long path to the throne has only just begun for Aelin Galathynius. Loyalties have been broken and bought, friends have been lost and gained, and those who possess magic find themselves at odds with those don’t.

As the kingdoms of Erilea fracture around her, enemies must become allies if Aelin is to keep those she loves from falling to the dark forces poised to claim her world. With war looming on all horizons, the only chance for salvation lies in a desperate quest that may mark the end of everything Aelin holds dear.

Aelin’s journey from assassin to queen has entranced millions across the globe, and this fifth installment will leave fans breathless. Will Aelin succeed in keeping her world from splintering, or will it all come crashing down?

And this final one is from Veronica Roth. Her new duology will start up early next year with the release of Carve the Mark.

carve the markOn a planet where violence and vengeance rule, in a galaxy where some are favored by fate, everyone develops a currentgift, a unique power meant to shape the future. While most benefit from their currentgifts, Akos and Cyra do not — their gifts make them vulnerable to others’ control. Can they reclaim their gifts, their fates, and their lives, and reset the balance of power in this world?

Cyra is the sister of the brutal tyrant who rules the Shotet people. Cyra’s currentgift gives her pain and power — something her brother exploits, using her to torture his enemies. But Cyra is much more than just a blade in her brother’s hand: she is resilient, quick on her feet, and smarter than he knows.

Akos is from the peace-loving nation of Thuve, and his loyalty to his family is limitless. Though protected by his unusual currentgift, once Akos and his brother are captured by enemy Shotet soldiers, Akos is desperate to get his brother out alive — no matter what the cost. When Akos is thrust into Cyra’s world, the enmity between their countries and families seems insurmountable. They must decide to help each other to survive — or to destroy one another.

I am quite intrigued with the blurb of The Staff and the Blade. Since I haven’t heard from the author before I went to check her out and discovered that A Hidden Fire, book one of her Elemental Mysteries series is available for free from Amazon Kindle, so I will give it a try!

I haven’t tried Elizabeth Hunter yet (she is, of course, on Mount TBR), but everyone who has ever mentioned her stuff said it was terrific.

Thanks so much for this post! I am SOOOOOO excited for the next Throne of Glass book! I did not know it was coming out so soon. I am not normally a YA fan, but that series really hooked me. Look forward to reading the next one. 🙂

Excited for Elizabeth Hunter and Sarah J. Maas. I know the Throne of Glass series is YA, which I normally stay away from, but after the first book, it didn’t really feel YA to me. And I love everything Elizabeth Hunter writes!

I also am looking forward to the Throne of Glass book I really enjoy it even though it is YA. Yes the first book was a bit YA in the writing but the last 2 specially were great! Celena is really coming into her own as a strong Alpha which I love to see.
