Well, Hell.

So, I just finished the seventh season opener of The Walking Dead. I have been sitting here for about 20 minutes staring blankly at the turned-off tv screen. I think I will lock all the doors and windows, and go curl up under the bed and wait for morning. Does anyone else feel like they just went through the ringer, or am I the only one borderline traumatized?

I feel awful…I can’t even begin to explain the emotional turmoil..I actually considered turning off the television before the end of the show.

I don’t watch it, but a friend who does called me to vent and cry. She said she felt the producers were having fun torturing the audience and she won’t watch anymore. But she’s broken up with the show before, so who knows.

It was brutal, I can see why she needed to vent. I will be commiserating with my boss at work, since he is the only other one I know who watches it.

The funny thing is that I was planning on starting to watch the first season of GoT last night – that didn’t happen.

I was out after he brought Rick back. And I had the TV on mute most of the time. I only got thru the first 2 shows of last season, and last night confirmed it…. I’m out, period. I did watch part of the aftershow to see what the actors had to say, which was emotional.

I caught a bit of the aftershow, and I think it might’ve been sadder than the show itself. Lord, I felt bad for one of them in particular.

As someone who’s read the comics I was prepared for Negan’s brutality and decided to skip last night’s episode. From all I’ve seen online, I’m sooooooo glad I did. He’s bad enough on paper, I didn’t need him in live-action. He’s a complete sociopath (though his conscience/remorse is minimal and fleeting in the comics); and his god-complex along with the psychological games he enjoys are simply too much for me to stomach as entertainment. For my own well-being, I’ve decided to skip series 7, but then if they stick to the comic “script” and what happens with Negan, I’ll probably be done for good.
