Mark the Calendar

heartYes. Mark the date…

The next Psy/Changeling Trinity novel by Nalini Singh will be called Ocean Light. According to, it will be released on June 28th, 2018.

So, pretty much guaranteed it is a BlackSea-centric book, right? Malachi and Miane? Leila and…Bo? Let the guesswork begin!

I think it may be too early for a Miane and Malachi book, but I wouldn’t mind. I just want to know more about them. It would surprise me to get two alpha books back-to-back, but since BlackSea isn’t as linked to StoneWater as DarkRiver and SnowDancer were it wouldn’t seem odd either. But it also won’t surprise me if it is about two totally new or so far barely mentioned characters.

Am I the only one who wants to know more about Griffin? (He was the other one of Miane’s seconds introduced in Tangle of Need).

June 28th for the UK will probably mean a June 26th release in the US. The last few releases have been early or mid June so I’m hoping the date gets moved up slightly (but it will definitely be a Tuesday for the Penguin Random House release). I suppose it is too early to start counting the actual days yet though ๐Ÿ˜‰

I had forgotten about Griffin – maybe him and Leila? I figure she has a HEA coming soon after all she was put through. Never too early to count the days!

It’s Miane and Bo – for sure!! Bo’s implant is getting dangerously close to exploding in his head so it has to be his book and Ocean so it has to be Miane. Also, I think I remember a scene or two where they had sparks, maybe…

But I would be okay with Malachai’s book too, but I have no idea who would be his heroine.

I hope we finally get news on the whole story arc of all the disappearing water changelings. Although Bo seems likely, as his situation is kind of dire and time-sensitive (isn’t his implant going to degrade in just a few weeks?). Also, we haven’t heard from Alice Eldrige in some time… the lose plot-ends seem to multiply with each book…

I thought Miane & Malachai had chemistry together, but maybe that was Selenka and Gregori from BlackEdge.

I know I was concentrating on my usual faves, particularly Silver, in my latest series reread earlier this year. Maybe I need to reread the books with Miane again for research ๐Ÿ˜‰

I am worried about Bo, but I don’t think his survival is predicated on him being the center of the next book. He could live and spend the next book recovering so he’s back in shape when it’s time for his story.

It could be Emani Berg who we met in Tangle of Need and was first mentioned in Kiss of Snow. Another distant possibility is one the characters from Alaris that we met briefly in Echo of Silence.

I have a feeling it will be a few months before Nalini lets us in on who it will be.

Penguin Random House has the US release date listed as June 12, 2018. And Gollancz has changed the UK date to 14 June 2018 ๐Ÿ™‚
