New Series Alert

Time to check in and see what new series we have starting up this week, the last week of September (ugh). The first one comes from Eve Langlais, who debuts her Hell’s Son series with the release of Lazy Son.

lazy sonSynopsis…

The problem with being born with expectations is the failure to live up to any.

Christopher might be the antichrist but taking over the world and leading the minions of darkness sounds like a lot of work. And while slacking is a sin his supposed dad Lucifer approves of, his lack of goals is a problem.

Personally, Christopher would rather just work hard enough to make ends meet—and maybe buy a six-pack. But fate is conspiring against him. For some reason the dead won’t stay in the ground, apparently he’s not an only child, he has sisters and this hot chick he met in the cemetery refuses to sleep with him.

It’s time for this lazy prince in waiting to rise to the occasion and embrace destiny—or at least make out with it.

And the second one is due out on the 29th. Death Be Blue is the first book of the Terra Vane series by Katie Epstein.

death be blueSynopsis…

She can glimpse visions of the past, present, and future but she doesn’t know when, how, or why. She only knows the outcome, and it doesn’t look good…

Being human is hard enough. Being human with psychic abilities is worse. It was for Terra Vane anyway, until she immigrated to Portiside. There she feels at home in the thriving city of the Fey, Shifters, Vampires, and other gifted humans.

Where there are many factions of creatures, however, crime and skirmishes are to be expected. With a stubbornness born out of years of being deemed a “freak,” Terra’s determination and unique ability serve her well as an Enforcer Field Agent for the Portiside City Agency.

Alongside her annoying wolf-shifting partner, Kaleb, there is no case that is too strange to solve. No case too dangerous—until there is, and the trail of bloodlust leads them to unravel a mystery that threatens Portiside as they know it.

I haven’t tried either of these authors myself, but I thought both sounded interesting. Any takers for one or both of these new books.

I love Eve Langlais’ Welcome to Hell and Princess of Hell series. They are hilarious, with enough of the paranormal and action to keep them moving fast. Best of all, the girls aren’t all “ohh, save me” and the guys aren’t all chest thumpers (just enough to keep them men).

I have read some of her other books as well, and while they are good, these are the ones I go back to more often than not.

Is this connected to her Welcome to Hell and Princess of Hell series? That would be so good, her books are always so funny. and I love her take-no-BS heroines.

I know those two series had some connections – Muriel made an appearance in one or two of the WtH books as I recall. (SLIGHT SPOILER) If you’ve read the Welcome to Hell series, at the end of Hell’s Bells, after the wedding, Gaia let Luc know she was pregnant with a boy. My guess is this is the start of his series. Although there might have been a brother mentioned in one of the PoH books, so maybe that’s who this is about.
