I’m not sure, but I think that my last cover lover post might’ve been last year. I have been finding one here and there, but not really enough to get a whole post together until now. Let’s get started with a new one from Kathy Lyons. Alpha Unleashed is the 4th book in the Grizzlies Gone Wild series, and it will be released on March 6th.
YOU CAN’T KEEP A GOOD BEAR DOWN
Alyssa Nelson doesn’t actually believe that Simon Gold is a shape-shifting grizzly bear—until she sees it firsthand. Aaaaand the award for Totally Surprising Changes goes to Simon Gold. But Alyssa doesn’t have time to deal with the fact that her ruggedly hot, long-time secret crush is a shifter . . . not when her brother has turned into one, too.
After ten months in bear form, Simon is struggling. He’s not ready to deal with anyone, let alone the bold and gorgeous Alyssa. Mine, whispers his bear. But all hell has broken loose in the Detroit shifter community, and it’s spreading to humans. Now Simon must face the darkest place of all: where bear and man become one. And the only way he can make it back to his humanity is by finding—and claiming—his mate.
This second one is from Gail Carriger. Competence is the 3rd book in the Custard Protocol series, and it will be out on July 17th.
All alone in Singapore, proper Miss Primrose Tunstell must steal helium to save her airship, the Spotted Custard, in a scheme involving a lovesick werecat and a fake fish tail.
When she uncovers rumors of a new kind of vampire, Prim and the Custard crew embark on a mission to Peru. There, they encounter airship pirates and strange atmospheric phenomena, and are mistaken for representatives of the Spanish Inquisition. Forced into extreme subterfuge (and some rather ridiculous outfits) Prim must also answer three of life’s most challenging questions:
Can the perfect book club give a man back his soul?
Will her brother ever stop wearing his idiotic velvet fez?
And can the amount of lard in Christmas pudding save an entire species?
Cover number three is from Cecilia Lane. Hunted Mate is the third book of the Shifters of Bear Den series, and it will be released on March 7th.
A wounded fox shifter hiding from her past.
No one could call fox shifter Becca Holden fragile. She’s been to hell and back and got the t-shirt, thank you very much. Years ago, she found herself pregnant with her mate’s baby. When she miscarried, Nolan turned away, leaving her to grieve on her own. She left Bearden, vowing never to return.
She’s been alone ever since.
Drifting from job to job, her life takes on a new level of misery and danger when she falls prey to hunters. Men who want to use her for their depraved version of fox-hunting. Becca manages to survive. Barely. She escapes her nightmare, but with nowhere left to go, she’s forced to return to Bearden.
Heartache isn’t done with Becca just yet…
A second chance with the mate he lost.
If Nolan Byers could have one do-over, it would be Becca. He and Becca were too young when she got pregnant, and when she lost the baby, they drifted apart. Becca left town, taking Nolan’s heart with her.
Time hasn’t healed this wound. If anything, the pain is worse. Nine long and lonely years pass until, one day, she returns to Bearden. Becca… his Becca. She’s as beautiful as ever. The moment he sees her, he knows why he never wanted another woman. Because of Becca.
His one. His only. His mate for life.
Now he just needs to convince Becca to forgive him. But the feisty fox shifter wants nothing to do with him. He sees her around town and she either shuts him down, brushes him off, or flat-out ignores him.
Her sass infuriates Nolan’s bear. His self-control unravels a little more each time he sees his beautiful, aggravating and smart-mouthed little mate. When a fire burns through Becca’s home, a fire that starts under suspicious circumstances, Nolan makes his move.
Becca’s in danger and his possessive and angry bear will no longer be denied.
And this next one comes from Karen Chance. Shadow’s Bane is the long-awaited return to the Dorina Barasab series, and it scheduled for release on August 7th.
Dorina Basarab is a dhampir–half-human, half-vampire. As one of the Vampire Senate’s newest members, Dory already has a lot on her plate. But then a relative of one of Dory’s fey friends goes missing. They fear he’s been sold to a slaver who arranges fights–sometimes to the death–between different types of fey.
As Dory investigates, she and her friends learn the slavers are into something much bigger than a fight club. With the Vampire Senate gearing up for war with Faerie, it’ll take everything she has to defeat the slavers–and deal with the entirely too attractive master vampire Louis-Cesare….
Suzanne Wright‘s 7th and final Phoenix Pack book will be called Wild Hunger, and it will be released on May 29th.
When half–wolf shifter Frankie Newman receives an e-mail from a family member she didn’t know existed, a secret is revealed: as a child, Frankie witnessed her father killing her mother…and then himself. Frankie was torn from her pack by her mother’s human relatives, and the trauma was erased from her memory. Realizing that she’s been lied to her entire life, she’s never felt more alone. Until she catches the scent of an old friend—warmly familiar and intoxicating.
Trick Hardy, alpha wolf of the Phoenix Pack, can sense the rush of mutual attraction when he sees Frankie again. He knows immediately that she’s his true mate. But he also knows that, given her fragile state, he needs to tread with care—no matter how fierce his surging desires.
As aroused as Frankie is by Trick’s darkly dominant air and simmering desire, her priority right now is her past—not her future, no matter how tempting. But as more secrets emerge and Frankie’s life is threatened, Trick must do everything he can to keep her close and safe. After all, it’s their destiny.
This next one is from Alyssa Day. March in Atlantis is the 3rd book of her monthly Poseidon’s Warriors series, and this one has a release date of March 26th.
When Poseidon’s elite warriors gear up to train a new generation of fighters, they have no idea that Atlantean Queen Riley has secretly taken on a new role: Matchmaker. By the end of the year, she plans to find soul mates for all twelve of Atlantis’s fiercest warriors…
…whether they like it or not.
Twelve all-new adventures in the hotly anticipated world of Poseidon’s Warriors, coming once a month from New York Times bestselling author Alyssa Day. These books are sexy, romantic, and wickedly addictive —welcome to 2018! And welcome to A Year in Atlantis!
And my final one for today comes from Sarah J. Maas. A Court of Frost and Starlight is a bridge between the previous books and the upcoming spin-off series, and it will be out on May 1st.
Feyre, Rhys, and their close-knit circle of friends are still busy rebuilding the Night Court and the vastly-changed world beyond. But Winter Solstice is finally near, and with it, a hard-earned reprieve. Yet even the festive atmosphere can’t keep the shadows of the past from looming. As Feyre navigates her first Winter Solstice as High Lady, she finds that those dearest to her have more wounds than she anticipated—scars that will have far-reaching impact on the future of their Court.
