Cover Lover – Lionheart

Thea Harrison released the cover for her next Moonshadow book, Lionheart, which is due out this December. So, yeah. The cover. Welp, I’ve got nothing. Dude is…mature. And…unusual. Not your standard cover model (my expression right now kind of looks like the lion in the top corner, honestly). So, your thoughts?

I don’t mind the hairy chest (Henry Cavill anyone?), but if I came across this guy in the street… I’d run. LOL

Have to agree with you on this one. He’s definitely mature, kind of reminds me of William Shatner (although a lot more muscular). Can’t wait to see what the storyline is. Not yet available to order on Amazon. Since I’m 68 – he’s my kind of guy! LOL!!

This is the same cover model from Kit Rocha’s Deacon. It took me forever to place him, but I’m pretty sure.

It shocked me too. However, even if I’d never heard of Thea Harrison, just seeing a man with a hairy chest on the cover of a romance novel would’ve have piqued my interest. Truth to tell, I am a bit surprised by all the hairless men in romance novels. I thought it was natural for men to have hair on their chests and it was only a minority that are unable to grow body hair.

I agree. I’ve always thought that all the hairless chests on the covers of romances seemed artificial. Most men have some hair so all these guys must wax or have their hair airbrushed out. I like a guy with hair on their bodies and so do most writers since most heroes have some hair as well as the ever sexy happy trail.

Not a fan of this one. This dude is way too old for me. I don’t want to read a romance where the cover reminds me of my dad. If my dad was a beefcake.

That aside, I also find this cover a bit “busy” though I do like the color palette.

I kind of like him, but then I’m 50 so he’s more my age? He actually looks like Maks on Dancing with the Stars. Yum. I like the hair too… It’s a little more realistic. I loved your lion comment, I make that face a LOT! LOL

Nice to see an actual MAN on the cover of a novel. The pretty, tatted, hairless boys are alright but this guy is a MAN! Love it! Especially the hairiness. What does everyone think all those pretty boys do with their bodies? Right now, at this moment, they’re manscaping in the bathroom, looking for any stray hair to pluck! They might as well be girls. I’ll take a hairy manly man any day!

Word. It’s hard to be attracted to some store manikin that has little resemblance to an actual handsome man. Also, most men in romances are described as being slightly hairy so the covers never match the actual character.
