Suspecting a connection between the Viking queen and these labs, he’s had his eye on the Norse warriors for a while. Especially on irresistible Astrid who he can’t stop thinking about even though her jade-green eyes takes the color of Nordic fjords when she sees him. Cover Lover – Wild Embrace

Yay! I am (like most of you) looking very forward to Nalini Singh‘s next anthology collection, Wild Embrace, which will feature 4 all new novellas set in the Psy/Changeling world. This one has a release date of august 23rd.

wild embraceEcho of Silence
In a deep-sea station, Tazia Nerif has found her life’s work as an engineer, keeping things running smoothly. But she wants nothing more than to break down the barrier of silence between her and her telekinetic Psy station commander…

Dorian
A changeling who can never shift lives a life of quiet frustration—until he learns how to let his leopard come out and play…

Partners in Persuasion
Still raw from being burned by a dominant female, wolf changeling Felix will never again risk being a plaything. But for dominant leopard Dezi, he’s the most fascinating man she’s ever met. She just has to convince this gun-shy wolf that he can trust the dangerous cat who wants to take a slow, sexy bite out of him…

Flirtation of Fate
Seven years ago, Kenji broke Garnet’s heart. Now the wolf packmates have to investigate the shocking murder of one of their own. And the more Kenji sees of the woman Garnet has become, the deeper he begins to fall once more. But even his primal instincts are no match for the dark secret he carries…

Which story are you most looking forward to? I have always wondered about Stefan, the Arrow who isn’t, since he first was introduced. And Kenji and Jem have been building for while. But I think I am most looking forward to Partners in Persuasion. It will be an interesting change to see the dynamic of a submissive male and a dominant female, not to mentioned another inter-pack mating.

Cover Lover – New Titles

I have a bit of a mixed bag of covers for this post, with most of them falling under the young adult category. Let’s get started with my two most recent finds, the first of which is from Melissa Landers. Starfall, which is the second book of the Starflight series, will be released on February 7th.

starfallWhen Princess Cassia Rose fled her home world of Eturia to escape an arranged marriage to a bloodthirsty prince and prevent a coup, she had no idea her sudden departure would spark a war. Now after two years hiding as a lowly ship hand, she finally has the chance to return home and make peace, but not in the way she imagined. Shackled by bounty hunters, she is violently dragged back to account for her crimes. Her only solace is that the Banshee crew managed to evade capture, including Kane Arric, her best friend… with occasional benefits.

Meanwhile, Kane and the rest of the crew of the Banshee, including Solara and Doran, are planning a desperate rescue mission. But when they arrive on Eturia, they find Cassia ruling her home planet, having imprisoned the rogue prince who would have overthrown her family. Deep down, Kane knows that Cassia can’t rule her world and be with the bastard son of a business man, but he’s also sure she returns his feelings, and that makes the circumstances all the more painful. When the outer realms are threatened by the dangerous Zhang mafia, Cassia, Kane and the rest of the Banshee crew rally to protect the population from widespread enslavement. The reunion forces Cassia to consider who her true family is and if she can live without the boy who has been there for her through thick and thin.

And this second one is from Marie Lu and her Young Elites series. The Midnight Star is due out on October 11th.

the midnight starThere was once a time when darkness shrouded the world, and the darkness had a queen.

Adelina Amouteru is done suffering. She’s turned her back on those who have betrayed her and achieved the ultimate revenge: victory. Her reign as the White Wolf has been a triumphant one, but with each conquest her cruelty only grows. The darkness within her has begun to spiral out of control, threatening to destroy all that she’s achieved.

Adelina’s forced to revisit old wounds when a new danger appears, putting not only Adelina at risk, but every Elite and the very world they live in. In order to save herself and preserve her empire, Adelina and her Roses must join the Daggers on a perilous quest—though this uneasy alliance may prove to be the real danger.

I guess this next one would be classified as New Adult, but I still group it with my young adult titles. The Struggle is the third book in Jennifer L. Armentrout‘s Titan series, and it will be released next March.

the struggle

Alexandra Bracken will release Wayfarer, the second book from her Passenger series, on January 3rd.

wayfarerAll Etta Spencer wanted was to make her violin debut when she was thrust into a treacherous world where the struggle for power could alter history. After losing the one thing that would have allowed her to protect the Timeline, and the one person worth fighting for, Etta awakens alone in an unknown place and time, exposed to the threat of the two groups who would rather see her dead than succeed. When help arrives, it comes from the last person Etta ever expected—Julian Ironwood, the Grand Master’s heir who has long been presumed dead, and whose dangerous alliance with a man from Etta’s past could put them both at risk.

Meanwhile, Nicholas and Sophia are racing through time in order to locate Etta and the missing astrolabe with Ironwood travelers hot on their trail. They cross paths with a mercenary-for-hire, a cheeky girl named Li Min who quickly develops a flirtation with Sophia. But as the three of them attempt to evade their pursuers, Nicholas soon realizes that one of his companions may have ulterior motives.

As Etta and Nicholas fight to make their way back to one another, from Imperial Russia to the Vatican catacombs, time is rapidly shifting and changing into something unrecognizable… and might just run out on both of them.

And Melissa de la Cruz continues her Summer on East End series on November 8th with the release of Double Eclipse.

This next one comes from C.C. Hunter. Midnight Hour is part of her Shadow Falls series, and it will be released on October 25th.

P.C. Cast‘s new one will be called Moon Chosen, and it is the first book of the Tales of a New World series. Look for it on October 18th.

Next up is A Shadow Bright and Burning, from author Jessica Cluess. It is the first book of the Kingdom on Fire series, and it has a release date of September 20th.

a shadow bright and burningHenrietta Howel can burst into flames.

Forced to reveal her power to save a friend, she’s shocked when instead of being executed, she’s invited to train as one of Her Majesty’s royal sorcerers.

Thrust into the glamour of Victorian London, Henrietta is declared the chosen one, the girl who will defeat the Ancients, bloodthirsty demons terrorizing humanity. She also meets her fellow sorcerer trainees, handsome young men eager to test her power and her heart. One will challenge her. One will fight for her. One will betray her.

But Henrietta Howel is not the chosen one.
As she plays a dangerous game of deception, she discovers that the sorcerers have their own secrets to protect. With battle looming, what does it mean to not be the one? And how much will she risk to save the city–and the one she loves?

This is the last of the young adult covers, and it comes from Sabaa Tahir. A Torch Against the Night is the second book in the An Ember in the Ashes series, and it will be released on August 30th.

a torch against the nightA Torch Against the Night takes readers into the heart of the Empire as Laia and Elias fight their way north to liberate Laia’s brother from the horrors of Kauf Prison. Hunted by Empire soldiers, manipulated by the Commandant, and haunted by their pasts, Laia and Elias must outfox their enemies and confront the treacherousness of their own hearts.

In the city of Serra, Helene Aquilla finds herself bound to the will of the Empire’s twisted new leader, Marcus. When her loyalty is questioned, Helene finds herself taking on a mission to prove herself—a mission that might destroy her, instead.

And this final one comes from Terry Spear. A Very Jaguar Christmas is part of her Heart of the Jaguar series, and it will be out on October 4th.

a very jaguar christmas

Well, that wraps up things for this batch. I will be picking up The Struggle to finish off The Titan series, but other than that my young adult ban kicks in and takes most of these out of the running. Are you planning on giving any of these a try?

Cover Lover – Blood Vow

Thanks once again to Pheonix, who not only sent over the link to the cover and blurb for the second book in J.R. Ward‘s Black Dagger Legacy series, but who also listened to me whine about the fact that it is hardcover. Don’t get me wrong, I love me the hardcover books, but we were told this series was going to be an old-school paperback PNR series, and it…isn’t. One freakin’ book comes out in paperback and then a switch to hardcover?!? Meh. Anyways, the hardcover Blood Vow will be released on December 6th. Oh, and the blurb is slightly spoilery for those who haven’t finished The Beast.

blood voxWhen a brooding vampire warrior-in-training teams up with a quick-witted aristocrat to solve a deadly mystery, the only thing more dangerous than their mission is their undeniable attraction.

Trainees at the Black Dagger Brotherhood’s training center continue to prepare for the war against the Lessening Society, but fighting is the last thing on Axe’s mind. Still plagued with the guilt of his father’s death, the brooding loner finds himself battling an unlikely attraction to Peyton’s enticing, aristocratic cousin, Elise. Elise feels it, too – especially when the two are thrown together in unusual circumstances, and she must decide whether she can trust Axe as she uncovers the mystery surrounding her sister’s death.

Meanwhile, Mary and Rhage are fostering Bitty, a young pretrans orphan, and hope to adopt her… until the appearance of a young male claiming to be Bitty’s blooded uncle threatens to tear the new family apart.

Ok, seriously. I am not letting this switch to hardcover thing go. Am I alone in thinking this is weird? If the series had started out that way, great. But to switch after one book bugs me. A lot. It does make a Kindle more attractive, I have to admit, since it would quiet my ocd. Maybe.

Cover Lover – 4 New Titles

Here is a quick little cover lover post heading into the end of another week starting with one from Faith Hunter. Curse on the Land is the second book from her upcoming Soulwood series, and it has a release date of November 1st.

curse on the landBefore Nell Ingram met skinwalker Jane Yellowrock, she had no one to rely on, finding strength only in in her arcane connection to the dark woods around her. But now she has friends in the newly-formed PsyLED team to keep her grounded—even if being part of the agency responsible for policing paranormals presents dangers of its own…

After training at the PsyLED academy, Nell returns home to her woods to find the land feeling sick and restless. And that sickness is spreading. With the help of her team, under the leadership of agent Rick LaFleur, Nell tries to determine the cause. But nothing can prepare them for the evil that awaits: an entity that feeds on death itself. And it wants more…

And this second one is from Keri Arthur. Winter Halo is the second book from the Outcast series, and it has a release date of December 6th.

winter haloThe humanoid supersoldiers known as the déchet were almost eradicated by the war. Ever since, Tiger has tried to live her life in peace in hiding. But in the wake of her discovery that Central City’s children are being kidnapped and experimented on, Tiger’s conscience won’t let her look the other way.

The key to saving them lies within the walls of a pharmaceutical company called Winter Halo. But as she learns more about the facility, Tiger’s mission is derailed by a complication: Winter Halo’s female security guards are being systematically attacked by an unknown force.

Now Tiger must summon all her gifts to stop those responsible for both atrocities—no matter the cost to herself…

The next two are both adult, and some of the pretty makes me wish I was still in the YA state of mind. Anyways, Laini Taylor will release Strange the Dreamer, the first book of the series of the same name, on September 27th.

strange the dreamer

And this final one is from Aprilynne Pike. Glitter appears to be a stand alone release (dubbed Breaking Bad meets Marie Antoinette), which will be available on October 25th.

glitter

Outside the palace of Versailles, it’s modern day. Inside, the people dress, eat, and act like it’s the eighteenth century—with the added bonus of technology to make court life lavish, privileged, and frivolous. The palace has every indulgence, but for one pretty young thing, it’s about to become a very beautiful prison.

When Danica witnesses an act of murder by the young king, her mother makes a cruel power play . . . blackmailing the king into making Dani his queen. When she turns eighteen, Dani will marry the most ruthless and dangerous man of the court. She has six months to escape her terrifying destiny. Six months to raise enough money to disappear into the real world beyond the palace gates.

Her ticket out? Glitter. A drug so powerful that a tiny pinch mixed into a pot of rouge or lip gloss can make the wearer hopelessly addicted. Addicted to a drug Dani can sell for more money than she ever dreamed.

But in Versailles, secrets are impossible to keep. And the most dangerous secret—falling for a drug dealer outside the palace walls—is one risk she has to take.

I am very excited for the Soulwood series from Faith Hunter, which is weird because I find myself struggling to get through the Jane Yellowrock books. Nothing wrong with them, but a lack of a defined love-interest throws me (I am a simple, one main couple kind of gal). Which of these are you looking forward to?

Cover Lover – Feversong

Even though I was a bit let down by the previous Fever book from Karen Marie Moning, I am still a huge fan of the series. It seemed like a filler book to me, and a set up for the next one, Feversong, which is due out January 17th. And lo and behold, today the cover came out…

feversong

Back to Mac on the cover. Mac was my least favorite part of the last book, and with the way things ended off she will probably get even more page time in this one. Either way, I do think this one will be a pretty addition to the series. There is a brief excerpt out, too, which can be found on the Entertainment Weekly website, found HERE.

Cover Lover – 3 New Titles

Since there are no new series starting up this week, I thought I might as well up a few covers I found while updating the author pages. Let’s start with the upcoming In Death book from J.D. Robb, Apprentice in Death, which has a release date of September 6th.

apprentice in deathThe shots came quickly, silently, and with deadly accuracy. Within seconds, three people were dead at Central Park’s ice skating rink. The victims: a talented young skater, a doctor, and a teacher. As random as random can be.

Eve Dallas has seen a lot of killers during her time with the NYPSD, but never one like this. After reviewing security videos, it becomes clear that the victims were killed by a sniper firing a tactical laser rifle, who could have been miles away when the trigger was pulled. And though the locations where the shooter could have set up seem endless, the list of people with that particular skill set is finite: police, military, professional killer.

Eve’s husband, Roarke, has unlimited resources—and genius—at his disposal. And when his computer program leads Eve to the location of the sniper, she learns a shocking fact: There were two—one older, one younger. Someone is being trained by an expert in the science of killing, and they have an agenda. Central Park was just a warm-up. And as another sniper attack shakes the city to its core, Eve realizes that though we’re all shaped by the people around us, there are those who are just born evil…

This next one is another novella collection from Kelley Armstrong‘s Women of the Otherworld series. Otherworld Chills will be released on October 4th.

And this final one is from Kim Harrison. The Operator is the second book of her Peri Reed Chronicles, and it will be out on November 22nd.

Cover Lover – Into the Fire

I just found this one on Amazon. It looks like the cover for the 4th and final Night Prince book from Jeanine Frost, Into the Fire, now has a cover. It will be released on October 25th. And you know what that means…one step closer to an Ian book.

into the fireIn the wrong hands, love can be a deadly weapon.

A powerful spell links Leila to the necromancer Mircea. If he suffers or dies, so does she. Cover Lover – Allegiance of Honor

With just under 100 days to go until its release, Nalini Singh has upped the cover for Allegiance of Honor. It is going to be epic to “see” everyone in one story, and I figure that would be a great opportunity for a Nikita/Anthony romance as a sub-plot. Plus, of course, it must be time for the pupcubs, too. Am I alone? Now we just have to wait until June 14th to find out…

Allegiance of Honor_MediumThe Psy-Changeling world has undergone a staggering transformation and now stands at a crossroads. The Trinity Accord promises a new era of cooperation between disparate races and groups. It is a beacon of hope held together by many hands: Old enemies. New allies. Wary loners.

But a century of distrust and suspicion can’t be so easily forgotten and threatens to shatter Trinity from within at any moment. As rival members vie for dominance, chaos and evil gather in the shadows and a kidnapped woman’s cry for help washes up in San Francisco, while the Consortium turns its murderous gaze toward a child who is the embodiment of change, of love, of piercing hope: A child who is both Psy…and changeling.

To find the lost, protect the vulnerable—and save Trinity—no one can stand alone. This is a time of loyalty across divisions, of bonds woven into the heart and the soul, of heroes known and unknown standing back to back and holding the line. But is an allegiance of honor even possible with traitors lurking in their midst?

Time to play a guessing game. What sub-plots do you think might show up in this one? Any predictions, or hopes?

Cover Lover – 13 New Titles

I have quite a few covers for this post, which surprised me because I thought I had just found one here or there. I guess these suckers add up. Well, let’s start with Den of Wolves from Juliet Marillier. It is the third book in the Blackthorn and Grim series, and it is due out on November 1st.

den of wolvesHealer Blackthorn knows all too well the rules of her bond to the fey: seek no vengeance, help any who ask, do only good. But after the recent ordeal she and her companion, Grim, have suffered, she knows she cannot let go of her quest to bring justice to the man who ruined her life.

Despite her personal struggles, Blackthorn agrees to help the princess of Dalriada in taking care of a troubled young girl who has recently been brought to court, while Grim is sent to the girl’s home at Wolf Glen to aid her wealthy father with a strange task—repairing a broken-down house deep in the woods. It doesn’t take Grim long to realize that everything in Wolf Glen is not as it seems—the place is full of perilous secrets and deadly lies…

Back at Winterfalls, the evil touch of Blackthorn’s sworn enemy reopens old wounds and fuels her long-simmering passion for justice. With danger on two fronts, Blackthorn and Grim are faced with a heartbreaking choice—to stand once again by each other’s side or to fight their battles alone…

This second cover is from Cassandra Clare. Tales From the Shadowhunter Academy is the print version of the serialized Simon Lewis stories, and it will be out on November 15th.

tales from the shadowhunter academySimon Lewis has been a human and a vampire, and now he is becoming a Shadowhunter. The events of City of Heavenly Fire left him stripped of his memories, and Simon isn’t sure who he is anymore. So when the Shadowhunter Academy reopens, Simon throws himself into this new world of demon-hunting, determined to find himself again. Whomever this new Simon might be.

But the Academy is a Shadowhunter institution, which means it has some problems. Like the fact that non-Shadowhunter students have to live in the basement. At least Simon’s trained in weaponry—even if it’s only from hours of playing D&D.

Join Simon on his journey to become a Shadowhunter, and learn about the Academy’s illustrious history along the way, through guest lecturers such as Jace Herondale, Tessa Gray, and Magnus Bane. Written by Cassandra Clare, Sarah Rees Brennan, Maureen Johnson, and Robin Wasserman, these moving and hilarious short stories are perfect for the fan who just can’t get enough of the Shadowhunters.

The Turncoat’s Rebellion from Andrea Cremer, which is the third book of The Inventor’s Secret, will be released on November 15th.

the turncoat's gambitCharlotte has spent her whole life fighting the British Empire, following in the footsteps of her parents and their group of rebels. But when her reunion with her mother laid bare horrible truths about the rebellion, Charlotte knew she had to escape. Now she is on the run, with no idea who the enemy is–or which of her compatriots is truly on her side.

In this action-packed conclusion to the Inventor’s Secret trilogy, full of swashbuckling pirates and young ladies who can hold their own against them, Charlotte will need to fight for her life and for her beliefs — whatever they might be.

I did think this one was pretty. Ever the Hunted is the first book of the Clash of Kingdoms series from Erin Summerill, and it will be out on December 27th.

ever the huntedSeventeen year-old Britta Flannery is at ease only in the woods with her dagger and bow. She spends her days tracking criminals alongside her father, the legendary bounty hunter for the King of Malam—that is, until her father is murdered. Now outcast and alone and having no rights to her father’s land or inheritance, she seeks refuge where she feels most safe: the Ever Woods. When Britta is caught poaching by the royal guard, instead of facing the noose she is offered a deal: her freedom in exchange for her father’s killer.

However, it’s not so simple.

The alleged killer is none other than Cohen McKay, her father’s former apprentice. The only friend she’s ever known. The boy she once loved who broke her heart. She must go on a dangerous quest in a world of warring kingdoms, mad kings, and dark magic to find the real killer. But Britta wields more power than she knows. And soon she will learn what has always made her different will make her a daunting and dangerous force.

Still going. Frost Like Night, which is the third book of the Snow Like Ashes series from Sara Raasch, will be released on September 20th.

frost like nightAngra is alive, his Decay is spreading—and no one is safe.

Meira will do anything to save her world. To defeat Angra, Meira will have to enter the labyrinth, destroy the very magic she’s learning to control—and make the biggest sacrifice of all.

Ceridwen will do anything to save her people. Angra had her brother killed, stole her kingdom, and made her a prisoner. But when she’s freed by an unexpected ally who reveals a shocking truth behind Summer’s slave trade, Ceridwen must take action to save her true love and her kingdom, even if it costs her what little she has left.

As Angra unleashes the Decay on the world, Meira, Mather, and Ceridwen must bring the kingdoms of Primoria together…or lose everything.

Kendare Blake is up next with her book Three Dark Crowns. It is the first book of an as-yet untitled series, and it will be out on September 20th.

three dark crownsEvery generation on the island of Fennbirn, a set of triplets is born: three queens, all equal heirs to the crown and each possessor of a coveted magic. Mirabella is a fierce elemental, able to spark hungry flames or vicious storms at the snap of her fingers. Katharine is a poisoner, one who can ingest the deadliest poisons without so much as a stomachache. Arsinoe, a naturalist, is said to have the ability to bloom the reddest rose and control the fiercest of lions.

But becoming the Queen Crowned isn’t solely a matter of royal birth. Each sister has to fight for it. And it’s not just a game of win or lose…it’s life or death. The night the sisters turn sixteen, the battle begins. The last queen standing gets the crown.

If only it was that simple. Katharine is unable to tolerate the weakest poison, and Arsinoe, no matter how hard she tries, can’t make even a weed grow. The two queens have been shamefully faking their powers, taking care to keep each other, the island, and their powerful sister Mirabella none the wiser. But with alliances being formed, betrayals taking shape, and ruthless revenge haunting the queens’ every move, one thing is certain: the last queen standing might not be the strongest…but she may be the darkest.

Kate Douglas, Eve Langlais and A.C. Arthur each have novellas in the Wild anthology, which is due out on September 20th.

And this next one comes from Gini Koch. Camp Alien is the 11th book from her Katherine “Kitty” Katt series, and it has a release date of May 3rd.

camp alienThe Mastermind may be outed, but Kitty & Company don’t get any downtime. In addition to having to recover from Operation Epidemic quickly, the sudden reappearance of a minor adversary long-forgotten turns out to only be the tip of a deadly iceberg that could end up causing World War Three…

Leigh Bardugo continues her Grisha series spin-off with the release of Crooked Kingdom, which will be available on September 22nd.

crooked kingdomKaz Brekker and his crew have just pulled off a heist so daring even they didn’t think they’d survive. Gemina is up next. It is the second book in the Illuminae series from Amie Kaufman and Jay Kristoff, and it will be released on October 18th.

geminaMoving to a space station at the edge of the galaxy was always going to be the death of Hanna’s social life. Nobody said it might actually get her killed.

Hanna Donnelly is the station captain’s pampered daughter; Nik Malikov the reluctant member of a notorious crime family. But while the pair are struggling with the realities of life aboard the galaxy’s most boring space station, little do they know that Kady Grant and the Hypatia are headed right toward Heimdall, carrying news of the Kerenza invasion.

When an elite BeiTech strike team invades the station, Hanna and Nik are thrown together to defend their home. But alien predators are picking off the station residents one by one, and a malfunction in the station’s wormhole means the space-time continuum might be ripped in two before dinner. Soon Hanna and Nik aren’t just fighting for their own surivival; the fate of everyone on the Hypatia—and possibly the known universe—is in their hands.

But relax. They’ve totally got this. They hope.

Melissa Landers is up next with the third and final book in her Alienated series, United. Look for it on August 2nd.

unitedAfter thwarting a deadly coup and saving the alliance between their worlds, Cara and Aelyx have finally earned a break. Their tiny island colony is everything they dreamed it would be―days spent gathering shells on the beach and nights in each other’s arms.

But the vacation is short-lived.

The treaty between Earth and L’eihr has awakened an ancient force that threatens to destroy them all. The Aribol, mysterious guardians charged with maintaining interstellar peace, deem the alliance a threat to the galaxy. They order a separation of the races, decreeing humans and L’eihrs must return to their own planets within the month or face extinction. In fact, they already have agents in place on Earth, ready to begin.

With the clock ticking, Aelyx and Cara assemble a team of colonists and race back to Earth, where they unite with old friends to solve the mystery of who the Aribol are, what they want, and the real reason the alliance has provoked them. As tensions build to a full-scale war, Aelyx and Cara must fight harder than ever―not just for their future, but for the survival of both their worlds.

And the last one for today comes from Kristin Cast. Scarlet Rain is the second book in her The Escaped series, and it will be released on May 17th.

scarlet rainAlek, immortal son of the Furies, has been charged to save his home and recapture the souls of the damned, evil creatures who escaped Tartarus into the Mortal Realm. He can’t, however, do it alone…

Eva has discovered that she has been both blessed and cursed with powers beyond her comprehension. With a destiny to fulfill, she cannot escape the beings who will stop at nothing to destroy her.

Now, the Nosoi spirits of plague have been unleashed on the Mortal Realm, releasing a pandemic as clever and adaptable as it is insidious. Alek and Eva must capture and banish the Nosoi back to their Underworld prison, but Eva has yet to harness the abilities needed to defeat such a powerful enemy, and Alek sustains catastrophic wounds in the attempt. They must rely on detective James Graham, and Eva’s best friend Bridget, if they are to even slow down the plague. But can mere mortals come through in the face of such overwhelming peril?

Sigh. I am a bit ashamed to admit this, but there is only one book in this whole list that I will be picking up, and that is Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy. There are a few other pretty covers, but my disinterest in young adult puts them out of the running. If I were still on a YA binge, though, I would be all over Crooked Kingdom and Ever the Hunted just for the covers alone. Which ones are you going to be picking up?
