Cover Lover – 5 New Titles

As I keep an eye out for the White Hot cover from Ilona Andrews (which should be released soon), I came across a few others to highlight. Looks like shades of red is the theme of the day, starting with the next one from Jacquelyn Frank. Bound in Sin is part of the Immortal Brothers series, and it is due out on September 29th.

bound by sinAfter being chained to a star to burn endlessly as punishment for stealing immortality from the gods, Jaykun has been unshackled to wage war alongside his brothers. But his freedom comes with a price: Each night Jaykun must still suffer—his body burning from the inside out. One early morning, recovering from his torment, he encounters a beautiful stranger on the beach. Naked from her midnight-black hair to her sandy toes, she approaches him with starry-eyed innocence and the unmistakably full body of a woman.

Soon Jaykun is swept up with the force of a comet, his desire for this woman hotter than any sun. His brothers fear he is blinded by her radiant beauty, and that she has been sent by their enemies to seduce and destroy him. Jileana is indeed from another world—one Jaykun cannot begin to imagine. But will their passion burn brightly enough to light the way through the darkness that threatens to consume all in its path?

Cover Lover – Blood Kiss

It looks like J.R. Ward‘s Black Dagger Legacy series covers will make a return to the old-school BDB style. Blood Kiss will be released on December 1st.

blood kissParadise, blooded daughter of the king’s First Advisor, is ready to break free from the restrictive life of an aristocratic female. Her strategy? Join the Black Dagger Brotherhood’s training center program and learn to fight for herself, think for herself…be herself. It’s a good plan, until everything goes wrong. The schooling is unfathomably difficult, the other recruits feel more like enemies than allies, and it’s very clear that the Brother in charge, Butch O’Neal, a.k.a. the Dhestroyer, is having serious problems in his own life.

And that’s before she falls in love with a fellow classmate. Craeg, a common civilian, is nothing her father would ever want for her, but everything she could ask for in a male. As an act of violence threatens to tear apart the entire program, and the erotic pull between them grows irresistible, Paradise is tested in ways she never anticipated—and left wondering whether she’s strong enough to claim her own power…on the field, and off.

Cover Lover – Archangel’s Enigma

Nalini Singh just literally 2 minutes ago posted the cover for her next Guild Hunter book, Archangel’s Enigma. Yes, that means I have slightly stalkerish tendencies, but sometimes it pays off…

archangel's enigmaNaasir is the most feral of the powerful group of vampires and angels known as the Seven, his loyalty pledged to the Archangel Raphael. When rumors surface of a plot to murder the former Archangel of Persia, now lost in the Sleep of the Ancients, Naasir is dispatched to find him. For only he possesses the tracking skills required—those more common to predatory animals than to man.

Enlisted to accompany Naasir, Andromeda, a young angelic scholar with dangerous secrets, is fascinated by his nature—at once playful and brilliant, sensual and brutal. As they race to find the Sleeping archangel before it’s too late, Naasir will force her to question all she knows…and tempt her to walk into the magnificent, feral darkness of his world. But first they must survive an enemy vicious enough to shatter the greatest taboo of the angelic race and plunge the world into a screaming nightmare…

Me like. Pretty, eye catching, and leaves some mystery. Naasir will be more than a handful, you can bet. Look for Archangel’s Enigma on September 1st.

Cover Lover – 3 New Titles

I figure we will be getting the covers for Archangel’s Enigma and White Hot soonish, but until then I have only three new ones that caught my eye. I actually bought the first book in the Splintered series by A.G. Howard because the cover art was so pretty, but unfortunately I wasn’t interested enough in the story to continue the series. Untamed is a short story collection from that series, and it is due out next January.

untamedThe headlining short story, Six Impossible Things, takes readers into Alyssa’s future, via new and deleted scenes, to offer a deeper understanding of the decisions made at the close of Ensnared. It’s an extended, detailed version of the epilogue and beyond. Two bonus stories, The Moth in the Mirror and The Boy in the Web, delve into the past.

Together, this collection provides a “director’s cut” glimpse into the past and futures of your favorite Splintered characters.

This second one is a standout, as are all the covers in the series. Queen of Shadows is the 4th book in the Throne of Glass series from Sarah J. Maas, and it will be out on September 1st.

queen of shadowsEveryone Celaena Sardothien loves has been taken from her. But she’s at last returned to the empire—for vengeance, to rescue her once-glorious kingdom, and to confront the shadows of her past . . .

She will fight for her cousin, a warrior prepared to die just to see her again. She will fight for her friend, a young man trapped in an unspeakable prison. And she will fight for her people, enslaved to a brutal king and awaiting their lost queen’s triumphant return.

Celaena’s epic journey has captured the hearts and imaginations of millions across the globe. This fourth volume will hold readers rapt as Celaena’s story builds to a passionate, agonizing crescendo that might just shatter her world.

I have to be honest, I thought this next one was a fan-made cover. The Lunar Chronicles books are among some of the prettiest on my shelves, and I am hoping that Winter will look better in person. It lacks the oomph of the first books, or at least it does for me. You knew it was going to be an apple on the front for sure, but…I guess I just was looking for more. Anyways, the final book in the Marissa Meyer series will be released on November 10th.

winterWhen Princess Winter was thirteen, the rumor around the Lunar court was that her glamour would soon be even more breathtaking than that of her stepmother, Queen Levana. In a fit of jealousy, Levana disfigured Winter. Four years later, Winter has sworn off the use of her glamour altogether. Despite her scars, Winter’s natural beauty, her grace, and her gentleness are winning admiration from the Lunar people that no amount of mind-control could achieve.

Winter despises her stepmother, but has never dreamed of standing up to her. That is, until she realizes that she may be the only one with the power to confront the queen.

Can Cinder, Prince Kai, Scarlet, Wolf, Cress, Thorne, Princess Winter, and the palace guard Jacin find their happily ever afters? Fans will LOVE this amazing conclusion to the series.

I can’t wait to get my hot little hands on Winter, and Goodreads lists it as an 800 page monster. Wow. The Throne of Glass books are on the one-day pile, because of the great covers (and the very positive reviews). Will you be picking up any of these young adult books for your collection?

I was going to post this last night, but I thought I would hold off for Nalini Singh‘s cover reveal for Rock Hard, the second book in her Rock Kiss series which is due out on March 10th. While I liked the first book, T-Rex and Charlie stole the show, and to say I am excited for their turn would be an understatement.

rock hardWealthy businessman Gabriel Bishop rules the boardroom with the same determination and ruthlessness that made him a rock star on the rugby field. He knows what he wants, and he’ll go after it no-holds-barred.

And what he wants is Charlotte Baird.

Charlotte knows she’s a mouse. Emotionally scarred and painfully shy, she just wants to do her job and remain as invisible as possible. But the new CEO—a brilliant, broad-shouldered T-Rex of a man who growls and storms through the office, leaving carnage in his wake—clearly has other plans. Plans that may be equal parts business and bedroom.

If Charlotte intends to survive this battle of wits and hearts, the mouse will have to learn to wrangle the T-Rex. Game on.

There are a few good ones in this batch, but my biggie is of course Rock Hard. There is a couple chapter long excerpt that went up yesterday, and it looks like it will be a fun read.
