The Chosen Cover and Excerpt

I was going to label this as a “Cover Lover” post, but really, that is a no. I had seen this version of The Chosen floating around Goodreads a few days ago, but to be honest I thought it was a bad fan-made jobbie posted as a joke. But when I saw J.R. Ward link to the cover reveal on her site, I knew it was the real deal. Yeah.

ward_comp.indd

So, I might sound bitchy, but this is not pretty. If you put this one and Kresley Cole‘s Wicked Abyss side by side, maybe this one doesn’t look that bad, but it is close. The Chosen will be out on April 4th. If you would like to check out an excerpt, you can head over to Entertainment Weekly and check it out HERE.

Cover Lover – 7 New Titles

For the first time in quite a while, this cover lover post has absolutely no young adult books. Let’s start with a much-hyped new series from Amanda Bouchet. Breath of Fire is the second book in the Kingmaker Chronicles, and it has a release date of January 3rd.

breath of fireSHE’S DESTINED TO DESTROY THE WORLD…
“Cat” Catalia Fisa has been running from her destiny since she could crawl. But now, her newfound loved ones are caught between the shadow of Cat’s tortured past and the threat of her world-shattering future. So what’s a girl to do when she knows it’s her fate to be the harbinger of doom? Everything in her power.

BUT NOT IF SHE CAN HELP IT
Griffin knows Cat is destined to change the world-for the better. As the realms are descending into all-out war, Cat and Griffin must embrace their fate together. Gods willing, they will emerge side-by-side in the heart of their future kingdom…or not at all.

Laurell K. Hamilton‘s next Anita Blake book will is called Crimson Death, and it will be out on October 11th.

crimson deathNow, in her twenty-fifth adventure, vampire hunter and zombie raiser Anita Blake learns how far she’ll go to save someone she loves…

When Damian—Anita’s sometimes lover, servant, and friend—is kidnapped, Anita heads to Ireland. There she must face off against the vampire who created him. M’Lady, Moroven, Nemhain…under every name she brings terror and destruction. But Anita brings her own weapon to the party: Edward, the man known as Death itself…

This next one is from Kathy Lyons. The Bear Who Loved Me is from her Grizzlies Gone Wild series, and it has a release date of September 6th.

the bear who loved meWHEN AN ALPHA MEETS HIS MATCH . . .

Between singlehandedly running her bakery and raising her teenaged nephew, Becca Weitz thought she had a decent grip on “normal.” Then her nephew vanishes, and life as she’s known it changes forever. Local legends are true: bear shifters exist . . . and her nephew is part of their clan. As is Carl Carman, the sexy, larger-than-life man who has sworn to find her nephew-and the other young shifters who’ve gone missing.

As the leader of his clan, Carl is surrounded by enemies. He’s learned the hard way that keeping a firm leash on his inner beast is key to survival, though his feelings for Becca test his legendary control. Then danger stalks too close, and Carl realizes he must unleash the raging, primal force within to protect everything he holds dear. But can Becca trust his grizzly side with her life-and her heart?

Suzanne Wright‘s new one will be called Force of Temptation, which is the second book from her Mercury Pack series. It will be out on December 13th.

force of temptationHarley Vincent is resigned to life in the human world. Sure, being a margay shifter is half her nature, but life among humans gives her the freedom to roam and do as she pleases. That is, until anti-shifter extremists target her, putting her life in immediate danger.

When an old acquaintance and onetime fling, Jesse Dalton, shows up to offer the protection of his pack, Harley hesitates. She may have feelings for Jesse that go beyond their one-night stand, but life among shifters means giving over her independence to the needs of pack. Plus Mercury Pack has its own threat to face: a rich half-shifter is determined to claim their territory at any cost.

Jesse, who lost his true mate as a child, has wanted Harley since their night together, and he’s not letting her go again. They may not be destined for each other, but he knows she belongs to him and with his pack. Even if he can convince her to join him now, can he convince her to stay?

How to Tame a Beast in Seven Days is an upcoming release from Kerrelyn Sparks. It is the first book of her new The Embraced series, and it will be out on March 7th.

how to tame a beast in seven daysLuciana grew up on the Isle of Moon, hidden away because of her magical powers. But when her father arrives, he offers her a choice: remain on the island or return with him and marry the Beast of Benwick in order to save their legacy—and her father’s life.

Lord Leofric, the Beast of Benwick, has not been touched since he was a child. Born with the power to harness lightning, he is a danger to everyone he touches. When he meets his betrothed, he expects a loveless, lonely marriage…until he discovers she’s vastly more powerful than he realized. But is she strong enough to withstand his touch?

If they can survive, their love will alter the future of the kingdom. But will their extraordinary powers cost them everything?

Carrie Ann Ryan continues her Talon Pack series with the release of Wolf Betrayed, which is due out on October 11th.

wolf betrayedCharlotte Jamenson was born to the Pack that threatened the world, but grew up in the one that saved it. She’s spent her entire life repenting for lies and faults that were never hers to bear. When she falls for her best friend, Bram Devlin, she thinks she’s finally found forgiveness for the blood in her veins; only a mating bond never came.

Bram knows there’s something missing within his mating with Charlotte, but there’s nothing he can do about it. Their Pack is in danger, and it’s his duty to protect their Alpha—even if it means sacrificing his life. When he’s put in charge of protecting a new member of the Talon Pack, he realizes he and Charlotte may just have a chance at something more than heartache.

Shane Bruins sacrificed his life and his future to protect the Packs from the men he worked for. Now, thanks to circumstances beyond his control, he’s not quite who he was before, and his life is on the line yet again. Only this time, he isn’t alone, and the two wolves in his path might be the only things that can calm the beast inside.

The war isn’t coming, it’s here, and the Talon Pack will have to rely on three souls who know they aren’t what each other wants—but exactly what they need—to win.

And wrapping things for today is Rendezvous With Yesterday, the second book from Dianne Duvall‘s The Gifted One’s series. It will be released on October 17th.

rendevous with yesterdayModern-day bounty hunter Bethany Bennett helps her brother track two fugitives to a forest outside of Houston, Texas. But what should have been a routine apprehension of two bail skippers spirals out of control and ends in violence. After Beth and her brother are both seriously injured, a mysterious figure suddenly looms over her. And, when the smoke clears, Beth finds herself not only in another place, but in another time.

As Lord Robert, Earl of Fosterly, attempts to identify and track down the nameless enemy who has been plaguing his lands and people with violence, the most peculiar woman stumbles into his path. Small, vulnerable, yet possessed of a bold, fiery spirit and wicked sense of humor, she persists in dubbing Robert and his men members of something called a medieval reenactment group . . . until she sees his castle and labels herself mad. It seems bounty hunter Bethany Bennett has come to him from the future, bringing with her laughter and chaos, swiftly winning the hearts of his people and inspiring within him a love he thought he would never experience again. But when Robert discovers a way for her to return to her time, will the love they share be enough to keep them together?

Are you planning on picking up any of these? I have Amanda Bouchet on my TBR soonish pile, but surprisingly I am most looking forward to How To Tame a Beast in Seven Days. It will be a chance for me to try out Kerrelyn Sparks without having to pick up a series that already has a ton of books. Less pressure that way.

Cover Lover – Wicked Abyss

I was responding to some comments in the previous post whey Lidy mentioned that the cover was out for the next Immortals After Dark book by Kresley Cole, called Wicked Abyss. Here is how the couple of minutes after that discovery went “Yes! Cover! Yes, yes, yes…No! Ew. Really?” So, yeah, I am just going to say it…I think this one is pretty not cute. At all. But hopefully it will look better in person? Nah, who am I kidding. Still not cute. Either way, the story will focus on Sian, and it has a release date of March 28th.

wicked abyssHe never wanted to be a beast…

As a boy, Abyssian ‘Sian’ Infernas had his heart shattered by a treacherous fey beauty who died before he could exact vengeance. Millennia later, a curse has amplified his hell-demon blood, transforming him into an unrecognizable monster – just as she’s been reincarnated. Sian fantasizes about seducing and spurning her, but he can retain his former appearance for only one hour a day.

She never wanted to be a beauty…

When a beastly demon king abducts her, fey princess Liliana ‘Lili’ Barbot goes from one prison to another. The beast vows revenge for betrayals she can’t remember and punishes her with gruelling labour within his mystical castle. Her only solace is spending time with a fellow prisoner Bael, a devastatingly gorgeous male who is allowed to see her for only one hour a day.

Can they break the spell before it’s too late…?

In the guise of ‘Bael’, Sian toys with Lili’s heart and body. Yet as she falls deeper under his spell, Lili can’t help but respond to the beast’s vulnerability and pain, and her sympathy develops into something more. When truths from a far distant past are revealed and identities discovered, can their tenuous bond withstand ages of deceit – and a looming supernatural war?

Seriously, does anyone else think of bad fan art when they see this? And as someone who used to do bad fanart, I am usually a bit more forgiving. I don’t know if it is the flat yellow font with the basic drop shadow or the tacked on little title, but this one looks like a self-pubbed jobbie. Not feeling the cover, but not quite sure where I stand on the Beauty and Beast/IAD mashup. What might be throwing me is that I have read a few fairytale retellings lately, and they can be hit or miss.

Eleventh Grave in Moonlight Cover and Blurb

Yep, you have to love it when one book comes out, and you get info about the next one a couple of weeks later. It makes the wait so much easier when you have something to look forward to. Darynda Jones is always great about keeping her readers updated, and now we have the cover and blurb release for Eleventh Grave in Moonlight, which is due out on January 24th.

eleventh grave in moonlight.jpgA typical day in the life of Charley Davidson involves cheating husbands, missing people, errant wives, philandering business owners, and oh yeah…demons, hell hounds, evil gods, and dead people. Lots and lots of dead people. As a part time Private Investigator and full-time Grim Reaper, Charley has to balance the good, the bad, the undead, and those who want her dead. In this eleventh installment, Charley is learning to make peace with the fact that she is a goddess with all kinds of power and that her own daughter has been born to save the world from total destruction. But the forces of hell are determined to see Charley banished forever to the darkest corners of another dimension. With the son of Satan himself as her husband and world-rocking lover, maybe Charley can find a way to have her happily ever after after all.

I will admit that I haven’t read 10th Grave yet, so I am not reading the blurb, but I am always happy to see signs of the next book. Not sure where things are going in the next few books, but it should be an interesting ride.

Cover Lover

Cover Lover – 6 New Titles

I have done a few stand-alone cover lover posts for some major upcoming releases, but now it is time for the rest. This first one is a young adult release from Sharon Cameron called The Forgetting, and it will be released on September 13th.

the forgettingWhat isn’t written, isn’t remembered. Even your crimes.

Nadia lives in the city of Canaan, where life is safe and structured, hemmed in by white stone walls and no memory of what came before. But every twelve years the city descends into the bloody chaos of the Forgetting, a day of no remorse, when each person’s memories – of parents, children, love, life, and self – are lost. Unless they have been written.

In Canaan, your book is your truth and your identity, and Nadia knows exactly who hasn’t written the truth. Because Nadia is the only person in Canaan who has never forgotten.

But when Nadia begins to use her memories to solve the mysteries of Canaan, she discovers truths about herself and Gray, the handsome glassblower, that will change her world forever. As the anarchy of the Forgetting approaches, Nadia and Gray must stop an unseen enemy that threatens both their city and their own existence – before the people can forget the truth. And before Gray can forget her.

MaryJanice Davidson‘s very last Queen Betsy book is up next. Undead and Done has a release date of October 4th.

undead and doneIt had been a well-kept secret for centuries, but now the existence of vampires is all over the news, thanks to Betsy Taylor’s half sister (and frustrated former Antichrist), Laura. Life for the undead will never be the same, and it’s up to Betsy to do some damage control. But her interview on the local news doesn’t exactly put out the fire. It more or less pours kerosene on it.

With all the added attention on supernatural beings, the werewolves are more than a little agitated (never a good thing) and demand that Betsy gets her interview skills, and her family, in order. And while things go from bad to worse in the world, Hell continues to be hell—especially when Betsy’s new parole program gets about as complicated as you’d expect.

With a PR team launching a vampire-friendly campaign, the Devil at large and out to make trouble, and mermaids on hand to see who falls—and how hard—the end isn’t just near. It’s here. And if anyone knows how to go out with a bang, it’s the Queen of Hell.

Snared, which is the 16th book of the Elemental Assassin series from Jennifer Estep, will be released on January 31st.

snaredIrony 101—The Spider herself snared in someone else’s web…

Another week, another few clues trickling in about the Circle, the mysterious group that supposedly runs the city’s underworld. Gathering intel on my hidden enemies is a painstaking process, but a more immediate mystery has popped up on my radar: a missing girl.

My search for the girl begins on the mean streets of Ashland, but with all the killers and crooks in this city, I’m not holding out much hope that she’s still alive.

A series of clues leads me down an increasingly dark, dangerous path, and I realize that the missing girl is really just the first thread in this web of evil. As an assassin, I’m used to facing down the worst of the worst, but nothing prepares me for this new, terrifying enemy—one who strikes from the shadows and is determined to make me the next victim.

The second book of Sophie Jordan‘s Reign of Shadows series is called Rise of Fire, and it will be released on February 7th.

rise of fireLuna and Fowler have escaped the kingdom of Relhok, but they haven’t escaped the darkness. When a battle against the dark dwellers mortally injures Fowler, Luna is faced with a choice: put their fate in the hands of mysterious strangers or risk losing Fowler forever.

Desperate to keep the one bright part of her life alive, Luna accepts the help of soldiers from a nearby kingdom. Lagonia’s castle offers reprieve from the dangerous outside world—until the king discovers both Fowler’s and Luna’s true ties to Relhok and their influence over the throne.

Now pawns in each kingdom’s political game, Luna and Fowler are more determined than ever to escape and build the life they’ve been dreaming of. But their own pasts have a tight hold on their hearts and their destinies. Luna must embrace the darkness and fire within her before she loses not only Fowler, but the power she was destined to inherit.

Christine Feehan‘s next Leopard book will be called Leopard’s Fury, and it has a release date of November 8th.

leopard's furyWith her own bakery in San Antonio, Evangeline Tregre made a new life far from the brutal lair of shifters she was born into. Though she is all too aware of her leopard-shifter blood, she never felt the sensation of a wild animal stirring inside her. Not until Alonzo Massi walked into her bakery. The powerful shifter is as irresistible as he is terrifying, but his icy demeanor tells her to keep her distance.

Alonzo knows better than to let himself get involved with someone like Evangeline. She doesn’t deserve the type of danger that follows him, or the threat of his Amur leopard. But even with his lean muscle and iron will, Alonzo isn’t strong enough to stay away from the one woman who can make him feel at peace. And when their secret lives draw a mortal threat, Alonzo unleashes the feral passion he keeps pent up inside himself.

This next one is a two-for-one deal. Gena Showalter and Jeaniene Frost will be paired up for a re-release of two of their previous works. Gena’s The Nymph King and Jeaniene’s The Beautiful Ashes will be out in an e-format duology called Forbidden Craving, which will be out on April 1st.

9780373801916_1f3cfThe Nymph King

Gena Showalter

Females young and old, beautiful and plain crave Valerian’s touch. None can resist his blatant sensuality and potent allure—until he steals Shaye Holling from a Florida beach and holds her prisoner in his underwater kingdom. Now Valerian must fight for the privilege of claiming her as his own. Because there’s one thing Shaye doesn’t know…when a nymph discovers his true mate, she’s his for life.

Includes all new scenes!

The Beautiful Ashes

Jeaniene Frost

With her sister missing, Ivy discovers a startling truth—the disturbing, otherworldly hallucinations she’s always had are real, and her sister is trapped in a demon realm. The one person who can help her is the dangerously attractive rebel who’s bound by an ancient legacy to betray her. With destiny on one side and desire on the other, Adrian and Ivy must work together to save her sister. Yet he knows the truth about Ivy’s destiny, and sooner or later, it will be Ivy on one side, Adrian on the other and nothing but ashes in between…

There you have it for this batch. Are you checking any of these out? The write up for The Forgetting sounds really good, but I am still anti-YA. I will be picking up Leopard’s Fury, but that is probably about it for this batch. Are you sad to say goodbye to Queen Betsy, or is it past time to wrap things up?

Cover Lover – Etched in Bone

From the sounds of it, tomorrow is the cover reveal for Nalini Singh‘s Archangel’s Heart. But to tide us all over, we can behold the recently released cover art for Etched in Bone by Anne Bishop. And let me gush now…same cover model! Same cover design! My OCD thanks them! Now we all can officially begin the countdown to the March release…

etched in bone

Check back tomorrow for Nalini’s cover, too. This is a good week to be a reader-geek.

Cover Lover – Part 2

This is a continuation of yesterday’s cover post, since there were a few too many to do all at once. This first one is the lone adult release, and it comes from Seanan McGuire. Once Broken Faith is the 10th book in the October Daye series, and it will be released on September 6th.

once broken faith

As I have bored everyone with before, I am not too into the whole young adult thing lately, but I have to admit that the covers still grab me. This first one is kinda funky, and it comes from author Lindsay Smith. Dreamstrider is a stand-alone title which will be released on October 6th.

dreamstriderA high-concept, fantastical espionage novel set in a world where dreams are the ultimate form of political intelligence.

Livia is a dreamstrider. She can inhabit a subject’s body while they are sleeping and, for a short time, move around in their skin. She uses her talent to work as a spy for the Barstadt Empire. But her partner, Brandt, has lately become distant, and when Marez comes to join their team from a neighborhing kingdom, he offers Livia the option of a life she had never dared to imagine. Livia knows of no other dreamstriders who have survived the pull of Nightmare. So only she understands the stakes when a plot against the Empire emerges that threatens to consume both the dreaming world and the waking one with misery and rage.

Samantha Shannon continues her The Bone Season series with the release of The Song Rising on March 7th. I don’t find this cover nearly as pretty as the first two books.

the song rising.jpgOn the eve of a new decade, after two hundred years of Scion rule, a revolution is beginning. Its unlikely cradle is the clairvoyant underworld in London, and even an old ally’s betrayal cannot stop it.

But an enemy from Paige Mahoney’s past is about to return – an enemy that could quench the flame of hope for good . . .

Now this one caught my eye right away. Frostblood, which is the first book of the Frostblood Saga by Elly Blake, will be released on January 17th.

frostbloodSeventeen-year-old Ruby is a fireblood who must hide her powers of heat and flame from the cruel frostblood ruling class that wants to destroy all that are left of her kind. So when her mother is killed for protecting her and rebel frostbloods demand her help to kill their rampaging king, she agrees. But Ruby’s powers are unpredictable, and she’s not sure she’s willing to let the rebels and an infuriating (yet irresistible) young man called Arcus use her as their weapon. All she wants is revenge, but before they can take action, Ruby is captured and forced to take part in the king’s tournaments that pit fireblood prisoners against frostblood champions. Now she has only one chance to destroy the maniacal ruler who has taken everything from her and from the icy young man she has come to love.

Now on to Spectacle, which is the second book of the Menagerie series from Rachel Vincent. It has a release date of March 28th.

spectacleWhen their coup of Metzger’s Menagerie is discovered, Delilah and her fellow cryptids find their newly won freedom brutally stripped away as they are sold into The Savage Spectacle, a private collection of “exotic wildlife.” Specializing in ruthless cryptid cage matches, safari-style creature hunts and living party favors, the Spectacle’s owner, Willem Vandekamp, caters to the forbidden fetishes of the wealthy and powerful. At the Spectacle, any wish can be granted—for the right price.

But Vandekamp’s closely guarded client list isn’t the only secret being kept at the Spectacle. Beneath the beauty and brutality of life in the collection lie much darker truths, and no one is more determined than Delilah to strip the masks from the human monsters and drag all dark things into the light.

This next one is called Caraval. It is the first book of an as-yet untitled series from Stephanie Garber, and it will be released on January 31st.

caravalScarlett has never left the tiny island where she and her beloved sister, Tella, live with their ruthless father. Now Scarlett’s father has arranged a marriage for her, and Scarlett thinks her dreams of seeing Caraval, the legendary, once-a-year performance where the audience participates in the show, are over.

Then, Scarlett’s long-dreamt of invitation to Caraval finally arrives. So, Tella enlists a mysterious sailor’s help to whisk Scarlett away to this year’s show. But as soon as the trio arrives, Tella is kidnapped by Caraval’s mastermind organizer, Legend.

Scarlett has been told that everything that happens during Caraval is only an elaborate performance. But she nonetheless soon becomes enmeshed in a game of love, heartbreak, and magic with her sister, with Legend, and with the other players in the game. And whether Caraval is real or not, she must find Tella before the five nights of the game are over, a dangerous domino effect of consequences is set off, and her sister disappears forever.

And the final one of this batch comes from Kristin Smith. Catalyst is the first book of The Deception Game series, and it will be out this November.

catalystToo pretty.
Too smart.
Too perfect.

In a crumbling, futuristic Las Vegas where the wealthy choose the characteristics of their children like ordering off a drive-thru menu, seventeen-year-old Sienna Preston doesn’t fit in. As a normal girl surrounded by genetically modified teenagers, all of her imperfections are on display. But after the death of her father, everything she’s ever known and loved changes in an instant.

With little skills to help provide for her family, Sienna clings to the two things that come easily—lying and stealing. But not all thief-for-hire assignments go as planned. When a covert exchange of a stolen computer chip is intercepted, she becomes entangled with a corrupt government official who uses her thieving past as leverage, her mother as collateral, and the genetically modified poster boy she’s falling for as bait.

In order to rescue her mother, there may only be one option—joining forces with the Fringe, an extremist group, and their young leader who’s too hot to be bad. Problem is, these revolutionaries aren’t what they seem, and the secrets they’re hiding could be more dangerous than Sienna is prepared for. In the end, she must be willing to risk everything to save the one thing that matters most.

So that wraps up a couple of days of cover lover posts. Now time to get back to updating and adding new releases, which have been coming fast and furious.

Cover Lover – 6 New Titles

Well, when I went through the covers I had gathered up for a cover lover post, I realized I had a few too many to do all at once. So maybe today I will do the adult covers, and the young adult tomorrow. Or something like that. Here goes…

This first one is from Nalini Singh‘s Rock Kiss series. Rock Wedding is the fourth book of the series, and it is due out on July 19th.

rock weddingAfter a lifetime of longing for a real family, Sarah Smith thought she’d finally found her home with rock star Abe Bellamy, even if she knew Abe didn’t love her the way she loved him. But their brief relationship, filled with tragedy and heartache, nearly destroyed her. Alone, emotions in turmoil, and already shaky self-esteem shattered, Sarah struggles to pick up the pieces in the wake of their divorce.

Abe knows he’s to blame for the end of his marriage. Caught in a web of painful memories, he pushed away the best thing in his life – the sexy, smart woman he adores – breaking them both in the process. Then fate throws him a second chance to get things right, to prove to Sarah that she means everything to him. Abe desperately wants that second chance at love…even if he knows he doesn’t deserve it.

But can he convince Sarah – now strong and independent without him – to risk her wounded heart one more time?

Sherrilyn Kenyon‘s Until Death Do We Part, a Dark-Hunter novella previously released in the Love at First Bite anthology, will be out in e-format on July 5th.

until death do we partThe only thing worse than being Dracula’s only daughter is falling in love with his bitterest enemy– a dark sorcerer warlord whose powers make a mockery of the legendary monster known for impalement and massacre. Forced to flee her father’s wrath over her secret marriage, Esperetta willing to sacrifice anything for Velkan Danesti, until she learns that he’s tied their immortal souls together without her permission– a lesson she doesn’t learn until after her father kills them and her husband sells both their souls to a Greek goddess and makes them eternal Dark-Hunters sworn to protect mankind from the demons who prey on them.

Now after living centuries apart, they must come together to fight an old enemy– that is if Retta doesn’t kill Velkan first.

This next one is also a re-do of a previously released Sherrilyn Kenyon story, but this time it is Sins of the Night, which will be re-released in hardcover on November 29th.

sons of the knightHarm no human. Drink no blood. Never fall in love.

But every now and again a Dark-Hunter thinks himself above the Code. That’s when I’m summoned. Who am I? I’m the one thing the fearless fear. Step over the line, and it’s my wrath you will face. Nothing can touch me. Nothing can sway me. I am relentless and unfeeling.

Or so I thought until I met a Dark-Hunter who goes by the name of Danger—it’s not just her name, it’s how she lives her life. She doesn’t trust me at all. And who could blame her? I’m here to be judge, jury, and the executioner of her friends. Yet she is my key to saving some of them. Without her, they will all die.

But as we try to save them, Dangereuse St. Richard is a deadly distraction. Something about her is reawakening feelings I’m not supposed to have. Especially compassion, which is a deadly emotion in a race against evil.

The only hope mankind has is that I do my duty. And yet how can I do my duty when it means that I will have to sacrifice the only woman I’ve ever loved?

I might only be on book 7, but I am hooked on J.D. Robb‘s In Death series. #44 will be called Echoes in Death, and it has a release date of February 2nd.

echoes in deathAfter a party in New York, Lieutenant Eve Dallas rides home with her billionaire husband, Roarke, happy to be done with cocktails and small talk.

After another party, not far away, a woman retires to her bedroom with her husband—and walks into a brutal nightmare.

Their paths are about to collide…

When the young woman—dazed, naked, and bloody—wanders in front of their car, Roarke slams on the brakes just in time, and Eve, still in glittering gown and heels, springs into action. It’s been a long night for the tired homicide cop, and it’s far from over.

Daphne Strazza is rushed to the ER, but it’s too late for Dr. Anthony Strazza. A brilliant orthopedic surgeon, he now lies dead amid the wreckage of his obsessively organized town house, his three safes opened and emptied. Daphne would be a valuable witness, but in her terror and shock the only description of the perp she can offer is repeatedly calling him “the devil” . . .

While it emerges that Dr. Strazza was cold, controlling, and widely disliked—and that he treated Daphne like a trophy wife—this is one case where the evidence doesn’t point to the spouse as the first suspect. So Eve and her team must get started on the legwork, interviewing everyone from dinner-party guests to professional colleagues to caterers, in a desperate race to answer some crucial questions:

What does the devil look like? And where will he show up next?

This next one is from author Sandra Hill. Good Vampires Go To Heaven is from her Deadly Angels series, and it will be out on November 29th.

There you have it. Which of these are on your must-read lists? I will be picking up Rock Wedding for sure, even though the though of Abe’s story doesn’t really grab me. Who am I kidding? I was that way about Noah’s book, too, and ended up loving it. I am way behind on the In Death books, so this one won’t be on my radar for a while, and I haven’t even touched Kenyon yet. Sigh. So little time…
