Hidden Legacy Character Guide

The Hidden Legacy series is the story of a family who exists in a world very much like our own, except this world revolves around Houses, or magic dynasties.  They own corporations, they dominate politics, and they are in near constant conflict with each other.  It’s a story of over the top adventure, flashy magic, and unlikely romance between Nevada Baylor, who knows when people lie to her and Mad Rogan, the billionaire-mage who wields almost god-like power. The spin-off trilogy focuses on Nevada’s younger sister, Prime Siren Catalina Baylor.

– The Magical World –

In 1863, European scientists discovered the Osiris serum, which unlocked varied magical talents in a portion of the population – and changed the course of history. Magic became the ultimate arbiter of power, position, and wealth – those who don’t have it, want it, and those who do have it will do anything to keep it.

– The Houses –

Magical ability is passed from generation to generation, with the most gifted families forming their own dynasties called Houses. Like magical rankings, Houses too vary in status and wealth, with the most powerful controlling their own territories, employing their own armies, and influencing everything from economics to politics. To form a house, a family must produce at least two Primes in three generations.

House Baylor – Formerly led by Nevada Baylor, Truthseeker. Now led by Catalina Baylor, Siren. Runs Baylor Investigations.

I just finish Wildfire and found some interesting thing. My copy of Wildfire is not with me, but I remember when Nevada and Leon attack Strum’s house, she once said that she is a “Magus Sagittarius”. Do that mean, she also dual like Rogan?

    • kaleigha says:

Yep, that is the official name of her shooting ability, I believe. Rogan gets all kinds of smug about it, too, when he finds out she is dual.

      • renpuspita says:

Oh yes, I read about it in Wild Hot about the “Dual” comment after re-read it. Funny I missed in the first time reading.

Anyway, you may check Ilona’s blog post. She mention that Reginald and Blake is the same person. Blake is apparently Reginald’s middle name.

I don’t want to spoil people for Sapphire Flames but I have all kinds of questions about Linus Duncan now. Is there a discussion somewhere?

12 step programs are going to be needed for al the addicts to this series. I am so hooked that I cannot get enough of the series.
I picture my place in the world as a Prime Empath

I think Hoppers sound interesting as do Barrage Mages but so far… I think I dislike most of the houses. House Rogan is just intimidating even if it’s awesome and House Baylor is obviously the best 😉 but I think I might choose House Forsberg. Hoppers sound super cool and at least with that house I would enjoy the family business. I worked in audits for a company for awhile, making sure nobody stepped out of the lines or tried taking the company products, or info for themselves etc and I enjoyed it- not numbers but policy and procedural audits. I think with a lot of the Houses and Powers you have done a remarkable job showing that while their power and House grant privileges it doesn’t guarantee any degree of freedom or happiness. I love the idea of Barrage Mages- its like being a human rail gun but again- its like being a human rail gun and there would likely be huge pressure to be a weapon for the family or in similar work…so House Forsberg sounds good.
