Cover Lover – 9 New Titles

There aren’t any big “wow” covers in this batch, but there are some decent ones. Let’s start with the cover for the first book of Deborah Blake‘s Baba Yaga spin-off series, Dangerously Charming. It has a release date of October 4th.

dangerously charmingEver since a near-fatal mistake stripped Mikhail Day and his brothers of their calling to be Riders, Day has hidden from his shame and his new, mortal life in a remote cabin in the Adirondack mountains. For generations, women in Jenna Quinlan’s family have been cursed to give up their first born child to the vengeful fairy Zilya. To unravel the curse, Jenna and Day will have to travel deep into the Otherworld. But the biggest challenge of the journey might not be solving an ancient puzzle but learning to heal their own broken hearts.

This second one is from Heather Graham‘s Krewe of Hunters series. Deadly Fate is due out on July 26th.

deadly fateWhen Clara Avery, an entertainer working on the Fate, an Alaskan cruise ship, goes to nearby Bear Island, she comes across a scene of bloody mayhem. She also comes across Thor Erikson, who will soon be a member of the FBI’s elite paranormal unit, the Krewe of Hunters.

Demon Hunting With a Dixie Deb is part of the Demon Hunting series from Lexi George, and it has a release date of May 1st.

Despite her personal struggles, Blackthorn agrees to help the princess of Dalriada in taking care of a troubled young girl who has recently been brought to court, while Grim is sent to the girl’s home at Wolf Glen to aid her wealthy father with a strange task—repairing a broken-down house deep in the woods. Instead of giving the highly coveted invitation to its intended recipient, Raleigh, her father’s handsome and worldly former apprentice, Moira takes off to join the Cirque. If she can perform alongside its world-famous acts, she knows she’ll be able to convince her dad that magic is her future.

But when Moira arrives, things take on an intensity she can’t control as her stage magic suddenly feels like…real magic. To further distract her, Raleigh shows up none too pleased at Moira’s presence, all while the Cirque’s cocky and intriguing knife thrower, Dez, seems to have it out for her. As tensions mount and Moira’s abilities come into question, she must decide what’s real and what’s an illusion. If she doesn’t sort it out in time, she may forever remain a girl in the shadows.

The first book from Ann Aguirre‘s (writing as A.A. Aguirre) upcoming Apparatus Infernum series, Bronze Gods, now has a cover.  It will be released on April 30th.

It looks like there was a novella from the Sharie Kohler Moon Chasers series that I totally missed.  Darkest Temptation was released on October 30th.

Still going…Darkness Bred is the second book from Stella Cameron‘s Chimney Rock series, which should be available on May 28th.

Robin D. Owens will release the next book in her Celta Heartmates series, Heart Fortune, on August 6th.

This one is…pink.  Very pink.  Hearts of Shadow is the second book from Kira Brady‘s Deadglass series, which is due out on May 7th.

And finally, the cover has been released for the second book in Bec McMaster‘s London Steampunk series.  Heart of Iron will be out on May 7th.

There were a few more, but they haven’t really been put “out there” yet, so I am holding back a bit.  Which one or ones did you like from this batch?  Any that you can’t wait to get your hands on?

Random Updates…

As I am going through the Series Reading list pages and updating, I am coming across a bit of new info on some upcoming releases.  As you can probably tell, I am only through the first three pages (so A-F), but it still amazes me how much info I can miss.

  • A fourth book from Lauren Dane‘s Bound By Magick series will be out next November.  No word on the title, as yet.
  • Also unnamed is the fourth book from Dianne Duvall‘s Immortal Guardians series, but it has a release date of October 1st.
  • Lexi George will release another Demon Hunting book next February 1st called Demon Hunting in a Dive Bar.  I completely forgot to post the cover, too.  Duh.

  • There will be an anthology featuring Jennifer Estep, Rob Thurman, and Rachel Caine coming out next July 30th called Carniepunk.  I have no clue what series the stories will be coming from, though.

Cover Lover – 2 New Titles

Well, count me…underwhelmed.  Four great authors, all of whom I follow faithfully, in one anthology.  Sounds great.  Someone could have at least put a bit of work into the darn cover for it.  Supernatural contains a Demonica story from Larissa Ione, a Nightwalkers story from Jacquelyn Frank, a Guardians of Eternity Story from Alexandra Ivy, and a Dragon Kin story from G.A. Aiken.  I am looking forward to it, for sure, but the cover was still a let down.  It is due out on August 30th.

The second one is from another anthology also due out on August 30th.  So I Married a Demon Slayer features Angie Fox, Kathy Love and Lexi George.

  • Bloodlust, the second book in Michelle Rowen‘s new Nightshade series, now has a release date of July 5th.
  • August, September and October of 2011 will see the release of a new trilogy from Chris Marie Green.  From what I can gather, the first book of this series is called Bloodlands.
